Planning a West Coast trip in June and want to spend some time at DL/DCA. Sounds like we should avoid weekends due to local visitors - this will be our first trip, we are WDW veterans and can't wait to visit DL. What are the crowds like the first two weeks of June? Not sure when schools let out...Thanks!

The advice about avoiding weekends is dwarved by the AP blockout issue. Sometime in May or early June DLR is going to debut a new night time spectular show at DCA called World of Color. And it will bring massive crowds to DLR.

So first thing for you to do is to read this:

"Understanding AP Blockouts and Impact on Crowds" http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2365983

Second, be aware of grad nights:

"The Scoop on Grad Nights at DLR in May and June" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2298400

Also, be aware that in the past weekdays in early June were off-season and had greatly reduced entertainment (e.g., no Fantasmic). See

"What You Should Know About Off-Season at DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=18462889

"Historical DLR Park Hours, Entertainment and Refurbs" - www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2291124

Finally, as WDW vets you may benefit from this popular thread:

"A DLR Guide for WDW Vets" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1162599

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

Thanks for all the great links - I'm out of my element planning for DL when I'm so familiar with all the nuances of WDW! The World of Color show will probably pose a crowd problem but we avoid all of the shows anyway(Fantasmic, Fireworks, Parades) so maybe everyone will be at the new show and ride lines will be shorter? One can only hope! I will be back with a multitude of additional questions as my planning progresses.

Mary Jo's sticky at the top of the forum has lots of good links too. Hang around the forum for awhile and pick up some good info. DLR has changed a lot over the years. Looks like it has been awhile for you. :)
