June to AUgust discount

This may be a silly question so please forgive me, but what if your check in is during that time frame, but check out is after? Do you have to book 2 seperate reservations? And then have to run the risk of not having such a good discount the second half of the stay? Or does the check in day just have to fall during the timeframe? We are there 8/25-9/3 and just weighing my options! :)

Not silly at all! Room discounts only apply to the covered dates, so the uncovered dates would be billed at full price, but would not require two separate reservations. Free dining works differently. For FD, only your check in date needs to be covered in order to receive it for your entire stay (up to 14 nights).

I did this but no amount shown

Yes, my balance is not showing either. I'm just going to wait and check back later. I think it probably takes time for it to reset or something.

Just got an email from Disney with the discount added so I feel better.

Ahhhh ok that makes sense lol I am just thinking a new discount will probably start after 8/28 so to take full advantage of any discounts I prob will need to have 2 separate ressies. I was hoping for free dining but I knew that was a long shot! Thanks so much! :)

Hmmm. Wondering if AoA is going to be included in that? Haven't made reservations yet. Waiting to see what they are offering. Family of 5 would like to stay in AofA. Like the idea of 2 bathrooms, especially with 3 teenage girls

We're paying $2544.64 for 7 nights at AoA in June.

My mom who is my aaa travel agent said I would only save 24 dollars less if I switched to the new discount than staying with the aaa discount. I'm bummed. Not sure if it's worth switching.

We saved $150 on AoA from the AAA rate to this code.

quick question.. If Disney discounts these rooms for the general public on Monday, are these prices going to be shown on Orbitz as well? Because if that's how it works, you could potentially get 20% off the rack rate of a moderate from Disney, and another 20% off from Orbitz as well.

That would be nice. But that won't work unfortunately.

With them rolling this out, what do you think the likelihood of free dining the end of August is? I know free dining ain't free! But with this discount I save about $189.40 and I will benefit more so from free dining, because I can not feed my family for the week for 189.

They didn't include August in FD last year, so I'd say the chances of them including it this year are highly unlikely.

IMO, this will be it for August - there's this discount and the MM discount.

I also don't feel that free dining will be seen in August.

My target dates for free dining are September 1-17. Anymore than that should be considered lucky. :confused3

Feeling REALLY glad I booked the bounce back for this August! We weren't sure we'd be able to go again, but I was afraid of not getting a good discount, so went ahead and booked JUST IN CASE.....;)

We'll we're going 8/20-8/26 with Free Dining and able to go back to POFQ! The discounts are nice, but for a family of 4 adults, Free Dining is THE way to go!

It is ALWAYS a good idea to book the bounceback if there is even the slightest possibility you can make a trip work for you. They only offer free dining for the next Aug/Sept when we are there every October, so we've never been able to book the bounceback. Darn school...it gets in the way sometimes. :rotfl:

Can I ask why not?

Last year I used Travelocity to book WL-CL @ 30% off using Disney's discount, got a code for 15% off from Travelocity, and then 5.5% back from ebates. I ended up saving almost 44% over rack rate.

Right now, if you wanted to book the spring offer on Orbitz, you get Disney's discount plus another 20% off from Orbitz, and 1% back from ebates. Travelocity is offering Disney's discount, plus 5% off, and 6.5% back from ebates. I'm not sure why things wouldn't be the same for the Summer 2014 offer.:confused3

First I've heard of stacking discounts. But maybe those companies are adding in their own deals.

Travelocity/Orbitz won't let me book all the resorts that WDW allows for my party size. Even with the kids ages in, it excludes a bunch of resorts. Any suggestions on that?

Mousesavers noted that there have been issues with Orbitz upcharging for children (counting them as adults) when Disney would not. I imagine that the problem you are seeing is that these sites are default to a max room occupancy of 4 people. Any more and it says you've exceeded the room capacity when you know you've not.

The workaround suggested for the "child being charged as an adult" situation, that I believe would also work for you, would be to book for 2 adults. Then call and have Orbtiz add the others by contacting Disney Wholesale Travel. I had to to this last year with Travelocity when we had 5 people in a WL room, but one was under 3. It worked out just fine and I saved a ton!:woohoo:

Okay, so I just booked this. I had a AAA discount on POR for early Aug. (6 night) and this did not save me money. However, it was the same price because they had only Pool, River or RR available under the discount and I had a garden booked with theAAA. So, I used the new discount to upgrade to the pool because the kids would like that for sure.
But, the 2nd part of my split stay was at BC Garden view. The funny thing was that it was going to cost me the same here as with my AAA because the discount was only showing less of a discount (garden was available). However when I asked to switch to Garden at YC I was able to get a bigger discount and saved $200 off of our 4 day RO res.

So, the bottom line is I got an upgrade at one and saved $200 off the other.

Better than nothing.

Hi all,

I was so excited to hear of this discount (not only because it seems i might be able to save a bit of money on my trip) because it means that our trip is getting closer. Just a couple of quick questions so that I book my trip right when the new discount goes public :worried: I'm hoping to book 6 nights at WL with hopefully the 30-35% off as part of a package. We are planning to do 5 park days so when i'm booking the package through the disney website (not making an international phone call) do i pick 4 day park tickets and have the extra day free added or do i just select 5 day tickets and the extra day free is taken in to account automatically? (I know it's all provided that they don't alter the offer when it is made public:goodvibes)

Also how do i know if i received a bounceback? I have made many trips to disney now staying onsite about half the time, but i dont ever recall seeing a bounceback. What should i be looking for? I know i definitely have never received a PIN, I'm assuming they are different...

As always thanks for any help :worship::worship::worship::worship::worship:
