So by DBF and I decided we are gonna try and plan a trip to DLR next year sometime, either next june or next october. We want to go in October to see the park decked out for Hallows eve which neither of us have seen before, however we also wanted to get to see world of color which I wasnt postive, but was pretty sure is a summer show. So I was wondering What are the crowds like in early june (his b-day) if its super crowded we will probably go early october (my birthday) so also what are the crowds like then. What do you guys recommend?

I am tossing a snowball a you, and suggest you think about going both times. Maybe you can plan to go the 1st week in June before all schools get out, or even the middle of May, then go again in October. If you go in June, you can upgrade your tickets to an AP and then it will be a bit cheaper for you to go in October!:thumbsup2

We actually do mid June and end Oct./early Nov. and I would say they are comparable, especially with the Halloween things they have going. If you can go early June, it may be a bit better since a lot of schools are not out yet and they still have the extended hours, plus the weather is pretty good too. October seems to be getting busier with all the halloween parties and the new halloween themed rides.. If you went early Oct. it shouldn't be to bad but don't forget the first weekend is Gay Days and that is said to be pretty busy. Whatever you choose should be great!!! But June is closer!LOL!

For crowds, the very start of summer season 2010 worked very well for us, so I second the "before school breaks" idea. We were in the parks around and on June 11--the "public premiere" of World of Color--and I expected the parks to be incredibly busy, what with so many people online saying they HAD to be there for the first show. The parks weren't empty by any means, and we did have to leave early one night because of a grad nite (which was OK because we had time to rest up for the next day!). But the crowds weren't bad at all, and the full array of summer entertainment officially started that day, even though it wasn't peak-season busy. So the second weekend in June was almost perfect for us.

(It was COMPLETELY different when we went around 10 calendar days later in June 2009. The lower tier APs were about to be blocked out for the summer, kids were out of school, and it was much, much more crowded. But you've already ruled out later June so you're probably fine.)

I've heard about massive crowds in general in October, with all the special Halloweentime offerings and so many events in Anaheim. Currently, however, World of Color is running daily, even though it's off-season. Plus, nowadays the nighttime shows pretty much run all weekends (Friday - Sunday), provided maintenance, weather, or early closures don't prevent them. And Halloweentime is really high season as far as crowd attendance. This year they pretty much HAVE to run World of Color in DCA just because they're closing Disneyland early on Tuesdays and Fridays in October, for Halloween parties. Anyway, we can't KNOW what will happen next year, especially since WoC seems to have some technical issues already, but if WoC is the primary reason you don't want to go in October, I think you're about as likely to see it in October as you are in June.

Still, for crowds, I think early June will probably be lighter.

Have fun planning! :)

As others have said WOC is a year round show and will play in October.

Next year the new Little Mermaid ride and refurbed Star Tours are expected to open in May bringing lots of guests to both DL and DCA in June. So for crowds, who knows. :confused3

Thanks everyone! We still haven't quite decided when to go, but all of you have been very helpful :-)

We love it in October. Great weather, no crowds, no Grad Nights. But anytime is good!
