June No Buy!

Not doing so hot:
6/1/ $22 groceries
6/2 $40 quicken (don't feel terrible about that, it's usually $70, and I was still having to hi to the exes to use his version)
6/3 $3 for resume review (but I have to cancel or it auto renews!)
6/4 $3.50 sandwich at work. $25 for a trial I forgot to cancel.
Tonight I'm taking the kids to the movies, so maybe tomorrow?

Count me in. This is my first time out. I'm not counting the basic monthly bills. I want 15 no buy days. On the side, I'm also doing No Booze June, so I may actually succeed at No Buy June. ;)

I really don't want to sound mean here at all but I usually see these kind of threads pop up on the budget board but I don't understand them. Don't we all need people to spend money out and about so we all have jobs? I work in retail and if people aren't spending money then people lose hours and jobs. There are way to many brick and mortar stores closing. Again this wasn't posted to be mean or anything like that. I hope you all understand.

I really don't think that ten people not buying as much will close stores. And we still do buy stuff, just not things we don't need. I was at BJs today to get Disney gift cards at a discount--everyone else had loaded carts full of food and who knows what else. So, IMHO, people are still buying, and probably buying more than last year.

I think the bigger problem is so many people buying online vs. stores, and people retreating to their homes and not really going out into the world as much. I see it around here a lot. Very strange...

I only have a certain amount of money to spend each month so I try to buy it in as few days as possible getting my no-buy days. I also agree with PP that I only buy the things we really need.

Aiming for as many No Buy days as possible...25 would be great!!
