June Jungle Book Exercise Challenge!

Happy June! Please join us as we each other on as we make an effort to stay active and exercise!

This month were are celebrating The Jungle Book in all of its (Disney) forms – the 1967 animated movie (and maybe even the straight-to-VHS sequels), the 2016 live-action film, and the new nighttime experience at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Pick a goal for the month and post it below. Your goal can be anything that’s comfortable for you.
Want to start with 10 minutes a day? That’s 300 minutes this month. Think you can do 30 minutes a day? That’s 900. Want to aim for 100 minutes a day? We’d love to see you hit your goal of 3000 minutes! Your goal can be one of these or anything else – just pick a number, share it below and I’ll add it to this post, and post your updated minutes when you can so that we can all keep track of your progress!

One of the awesome parts of these monthly challenges is seeing a rainbow of progress in the form of color changes. As you get closer and closer to your goal, you will achieve:
Bagheera Blue at 10%
Shere Khan Orange at 25%
Baloo Purple at 50%
King Louie Pink at 75%
Mowgli Red at 90%
WISH Jungle Green at 100%
(Yes, I know that not all of the characters make sense … the color palette for The Jungle Book doesn’t contain a lot of purple or pink, so I had to stretch things a bit)

The challenge officially starts on June 1st, but latecomers are always welcome! So pull up a chair, pick a goal, and have fun staying healthy!

It’s officially June!
Let’s start the month off with the newest Jungle Book offering – The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic, which made its debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom last week.

Our favorite Disney fan website, The DIS, was there to see the premiere and got some great video –here is a short highlight video:

Come along as impressions of the film’s iconic characters take you on a journey following Mowgli’s exciting, perilous and sometimes hilarious jungle encounters. Watch as barges teeming with jubilant singers, Indian musicians and colorful performers take to the waters and enhance the tale with music and song—while fellow players join in from nearby river banks. And thrill to the breathtaking sight of light displays and massive water screens projecting imagery from the blockbuster film!

Anyone have plans to see this show? It hasn't gotten the best reviews so far, but I think it sounds pretty cool – I hope some of us get a chance to enjoy it!

Today is the first official day of the challenge, and I can’t wait to see what our awesome team members do today!
For those looking to try something new this month - the first Wednesday in June (aka today) is National Running Day here in the US, so if you're looking to start running, today is a great day to start!​

Jumping back in for June! Hoping to have more time as school winds down, and soccer over for DD12 for spring, and on a break from club team for poor DS16, due to broken wrist. I am going for a goal of 400 min. Started with 30 min. today on Wii fit, so 370 to go! 30/400
