We are in the beginning stages of planning our trip next year out west. Of course I talked DH into going to DL! Now, to figure out which month to go.... Regardless of the month, I will manipulate our vacation to make sure we go during the week...

BTW which 2-3 days of the week would you recommend? M-W, T-Th?

I would say beginning of June is probably your safest bet, right before the schools let out. As far as for what days Monday's/Thursday's are usually the same as far as crowds go especially in the summer months.

When will your kids be going back to school? If they don't go back until after Labor Day, then the end of August might be a good option if you don't mind the heat.

Mid-June is still pretty good for weather and crowds. End of August is good too, the later the better.

There is no up to date crowd calendar for DL. Basically starting mid-June the crowds increase greatly. The crowd level stays pretty much a constant until mid/late August (except an increase around the 4th of July). So if the kids don't go back until after Labor Day, I suggest going in late August if you are trying to avoid crowds. Or if you want extended hours and nightly entertainment (fantasmic, fireworks, electric parade) try the second week of August or the third week of June. The crowds might be just a bit lower those weeks.

I would say early June, less crowds and you get the nice June gloom weather.

It's not as hot as the rest of the summer. Usually, it's cool enough to wear a light jacket all day (unless you're running from ride to ride) and the sun is out but there is a nice breeze in the afternoon.

What is the "nice June gloom" weather??? We are going June 2-8. We are from the Houston area so "gloom" is a nice break from hot, sunny, and humid!!!

We were there 6/3 - 6/6 last year & it was in the 80s during the day & in the low 60s with a breeze at night. Mostly overcast skies. Long sleeve tee shirt or wind breaker weather at night.

Yep....being from Texas (for us) it was gloriously cool & dry.
