Not yet mky...have some time to wait...I am still wondering what date I'm going to try for based on prices at SW.

I don't think real trees last that long, but I don't know for sure. My mom always had a real one and usually put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Be sure to give it loads of water. I think it really depends on how long they were cut before you buy it. We always had to go cut it down too...so it was fresh...so I'm not sure. My dad always waited till 3 hours before the family party!

funny story, my uncle lived in the Big Apple and he was divorced...so his kids (my cousins) were coming to celebrate their Christmas with him, but he didn't plan far enough ahead and never bought a tree...he was up a creek...they were coming after the 25th...he ended up taking one our of someone's trashI guess they are super expensive there too!

I do not recommend this however...

Anyone start xmas shopping yet? Got bug started. Mom and Dad are very hard. Think I want a real tree this year. Anyone know how early you can put up a real tree and have it last? We haven't had one in years.

MKY - Tell the pilot to follow the "Second Star to the Right"...and you will be soooo welcomed to have some of the Tomar house Hospitality !!! (Not to mention the Italian feist I am preparing for Days now)
We finished shopping for the Little Prince and Princess, Gifts are all wrapped and they will open them on Thanksgiving, as we won`t be with them until January again !
Our Oldest DS used to get our Real Tree every year around the 10th of Dec. MKY....tell them to cut the bottom off alittle, and buy the "real tree food"...you will have to water it everyday....I am soooo over the real tree thing now though....honestly,.it is alot of work ...once the tree starts to get dry..the needles are all over the place !! ...But Oohhh, it makes the house smell soooooo Beautiful on the Christmas holiday !!
Im sorry you have to work on Thanksgiving Day ...I hope you, Bug and your Folks have a good one anyway, whatever time you all get together !!

Hiya everyone

Tomar, Oooh your too sweet. I hear you about the real tree. But, thought our "old people" might enjoy going all out this year. The good news is, way easier to take down. Last year I only put up the small 4 ft tree on the table cause working too much. [and no one helps me]. But, we missed the regular tree on xmas. Had a big display outside, just not in house. So thinking of small outside this year and more inside?? If that makes sense.

EE22, Good luck on your DL plans. We would really like to do that too, just so foriegn to plan it. I actually bought the birbaum's 2011 DL book just to read, and got lost. I did read that the disneyland hotel was having major renivoations for the next couple of years? That is where I always wanted to stay. Although Grand Californian is probably nicer.

Well, its coldddddddddddddddddd here today. And totally gloomy. UGH. I can't phantom more months of blank trees, gloomy weather. Too depressing.
Almost time to request my time off for 2011 at work. Have to turn in by jan. and find out in march. Time runs march 2011 to march 2012. That is why we go in march not april. I can plan it farther out. Instead of starting in Jan for april. For the other 2 weeks, we have been discussing late aug, sept, or again Oct. But, march is high season and so is oct. That puts the other too up front as contenders. Also we have been the last 2 octobers and seen all the halloween stuff. Maybe need a break. But, the MNSSHP's started in early sept this year. Ooooooooh such decisions.

Anyone else excited about the pending royal wedding? I was a big Princess Diana fan , love the idea he gave kate her ring.

mky...I didn't even put up a tree last year. I was so ticked because no one would help me, but wanted a tree up what is that?

I did put up one this year and did it last weekend so it's up when DS comes home for Thanksgiving...fake. DH can't put up a fake one so why try real? he's just not handy. Good with pewters, but not handy work.

DL is confusing. Not sure I can handle the stress, but even WDW with my new food issues would be not much fun and much more difficult to plan. I can eat almost nothing. Yes, I saw that about DL Hotel so if I don't get GCV I think I will try P.Pier. No clue. SW released their flights and I'm worried as I have no room yetI need to go with the flow, but the money flows for Disney anyway and I need to make good $$ decisions.

COLD here too...sun a bit today, but COLD.

I am not sure about your plans...I can only go in the summers anymore so I'll take those and deal with the chanting tour groups I guess. I would love a Halloween party, but you already know thatMaybe let the price decide for you?

I was a huge Princess Di fan. I hope they can stand the media. I know I couldn't. Seeing students when I shop is enough to drive me nuts.

Tomar - I am glad to hear your son is now home.

EE22 - for DL.

MKY - I use to have a real tree before the kids came. WATER WATER WATER will help it to stay longer but I would wait until early Dec.

As for the royal couple, I am thrilled for them and I thought it was sweet that he gave her Di's ring too. I would like to see them as King and Queen before Charles and Camila.

I still have the coin they gave us in grade school for one of the Queen's Jubilee's.

THE BAD:
I am sitting here waiting till 2pm and then off to the oral surgeon. Been dreading this all weekend. Oh well, get it over with. See how I feel after that.

THE GOOD: ap rates are out!!!!! Could not land the CR. They where not included too sold out. Offered gf, poly, bc, akl, took:::::: akl kidani 1br. Ok, I need alot of help. It is savannah view. And a great price. But, I need info: how are the bus systems? Should we request anything?? high floor? Not sure of its layout, pool, or even room layout. anyone got a kidani floor plan, or map of akl & kidani? Or know where to find them online? Bug, is excited. She picked it. We figure, this takes us down to 1 suitcase each. Gonna work that washer / dryer. We didn't want to move or break up our trip. So its for the 2 weeks. Does akl kidani have room service like akl? I think i remember under building parkinging? Trying to remember ee22's pictures.

under ground parking is awesome...you can take the elevator to your floor and stay all indoors. You can take the elevator to the floor where transportation is and the bus stop is right by check in. They stop at Kidani first which is excellent. Even with Jambo House on the bus route we noticed no difference in time this year. DTD loop is still long, but that's with all of them I think.

1BR is big! you will love the washer and dryer and off site is so close to AKV if you want supplies and the Super Target is like a Team Mickey store and it's less than 1 mile or so from there. That's where we went for groceries.

You can take a bus over to Jambo House or there is a golf cart that runs until 3 pm or so. With having a 1BR we never missed counter service either.

mky...you are VERY welcome. You have helped me out more times with all sorts of stuff. Maps of the World, MNSSHP, etc. All of you have. I'd still be up a creek without your car rental help from Tomar and you. TP2 is the master of tickets too

As you know...most people here just don't get why I like to visit WDW and think I'm insane!!

I hope airfare for the corn fields gets better by 2012 or we may have to drive. Just not good

I ended up going to MVMCP the last evening of my work trip. If you've never given it a try I can highly recommend it - snowing on main street

EE22, I was reading my DL book for 2011, its like a foriegn lanuage. So totally different. Good luck with planning. Rather scary and taunting to plan.

Mouth is starting to feel better [a little]. Not too much eating for thanksgiving. Might of been a good thing.
Decided against the real tree. [but it would of been nice]. Put up the big tree in the front room and half tree in the family room. We are ready. Just put a santa in the window. Already too cold to go out and put stuff up, outside.

You are right mky...DL is very different. I read a lot this summer and it's already gone. I have to read again for where we are going to eat. Otherwise I plan on really digging in next summer before we go. That's what I did with Universal...never had time otherwise. Dining is only 60 days out so I am not forced to do it early. I plan on winter break too. I wanted to work on this fall, but just haven't felt well enough.

I put up a pre lighted tree that is much smaller than our other one. Just couldn't figure out where to put the huge one.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Minnie: I heard it is wonderful. Tried prepping the girls for not being home for Christmas than they flipped out. Can't take time off other than when school is out. I guess we have to wait a bit longer. Glad you got to experience it.

Hopefully tomorrow tree will go up. I spent Thanksgiving morning doing a paper and still have 1 left. Just doing tree and fireplace this year, and DH will do lights outside. Can't even think of doing it all.

Hi Guys !!
Well, The 5 day Thanksgiving Feist at the Tomar household has finally come to an end today ...the kids left late this afternoon after finishing off the last of a couple of trays of Baked Ziti ....I have to say I am very very sad tonight ....I miss them already , Even though I did do alot of work, it was such a blessing to have all of us together for Thanksgiving !
The Little Prince took his first 2 steps alone at Gramma and Grampa`s !!
We were all sooo happy about that !!
And the Perfectly Princess .....well...what can I say....I think I will have left my "Disney Adoreing" Legacy to her....we did "Everything" Disney related this weekend ...(including going shopping to our new Disney Store) !
She is soooo into everything "Tangled" now...So looks like Rapunzel is a new favorite Princess
Our Younger DS is still getting headaches every now and then ...we`d like for him to be checked by a nuerologist we were recommended to, in New York City as soon as he can...(Just to be on the safe side you know )
I do hope everyone had a GREAT Thanksgiving Holiday, and for those of you that ventured out shopping this weekend, I hope that you were able to get some great deals...We were in the mall yesterday, (visiting Santa with the kids), but no shopping ....it was tooooo mobbed !!
Minnie-My dream is to be at WDW for MVMCP some day with the kids.....I can`t imagine the goose bumps I`ll be having actually seeing snow on main street (as well as the most Gorgeous holiday decorations) !! Glad you hot to experience it !!
I am sooo tired right now, I can`t even think about Christmas Decorating....I need to recoup from Thanksging for a little bit yet !
