mky that is GREAT news! 3 trips in 6 months. Way to keep the place alive. Did you see they are cutting more positions with Disney? AP rates are great for June so maybe July will have some good deals too. We will be there during that time frame SSR and OKW have great rates. I think maybe others are in there. BC...SAB wouldn't be hard to take for 5 days although it was loud with the music, but WHO CARES if you're at Disney

TP2...I hope things with DD sort themselves out. Not fun. Seems like a lifetime ago with DD.

Tomar...I hope Princess is getting better. You are right...there is lots of stuff going around and DD and I have it. I've been sick all week. I think I should separate the sick from the well at work.

Candi...good luck packing for you trip. It's closer and closer. Good luck with your job too.

Should add mky...saw you were saving your aps. We had an amazing public code for December. 43% off. Also, Tomar and I might get the DVC For friends discount too that you could use. Last summer's was GREAT as well. Tomar and I couldn't use it. The 40% off pin code I received did not include July.

EE22, I know, I want to not activate the ap's. But don't want to make ressies, and have to. My luck, they would ask and not take the vouchures. I can get the crummy aaa rate, but if no fabulous public codes, we will have to stick with the aaa and stay at PORS. We really do like PORS. They have several pools, and old man island. I like the Partatee Place Bluiding in the mansions. Since this is totally an unplanned and "extra", we are trying to keep cost down. We wanted somewhere we like, has a good disney feel, no big groups [whatever / whoever they are] somewhere quiet, nice pools, and good location. Any other suggestions? Not crazy about the food court at CSR, We considered CBR, AKL [I know me, we would be in the savannah quicker than calling 1-407-WDISNEY], Dolphin [missing the "disney" thou], BC [too $$$], PC [but worried about noise and crowds], and for DVC: would want the 1 br, Good heavens, I think I am a resort snob

Tomar, So great to read that the is on the mend! So is she a soprano, or alto?

TP2, Hope DD is doing better, and things are straightened out.

mky, I think POR is a great place to stay. You can take the boat to DTD for a ride too like Tomar does from the BW to Epcot. You can always go to POFQ too for food. We were going to stay at POFQ in December until I found that awesome public code. Maybe DV will have a deal too.

MKY - EE22 was referring to the cash rate that DVC members can get for friends to stay at the resort...so you could do AKL and stay in one of the DVC rooms for a good rate

We leave in less than three weeks now

Work is work, very stressful with all the changes but at least we are working. I have to work tomorrow, but luckily I will get paid for it and the extra $ will come in handy since I bought furniture at Christmas.

mky...yes, it was the discount for DVC I was talking about and it worked at many of the resorts. AKV is DVC now so that would work too. I cannot remember the rate, but it beat the ap rate. I'll let you know if I get anything and Tomar should as well.

You could stay in a studio...they are nice even though I have never stayed in one

EE22: Wow! I did not realize that you sometimes got discounts like that. Pretty nice. Even if you were going and wanted friends to join. I always wondered how it would work. That is great. I guess that is what you were considering when you said to keep all options on the table. I never thought it was possible.

Last summer the discounts were very good. Mky would have to decide if she could live with a studio rather than a 1BR spending a week at AKV watching critters would be awesome. A few trips to DTD would be the ticket to relaxation with enough Magic to keep me going

Disney had quiet lay offs yesterday with more to come I"m sure... I know they will keep some bad ones and some great talent will be lost. I hope they weather this economy. Same thing here yesterday in the corn....

We used the DVC discount for a cash reservation at the Vero Beach resort for the Saturday night. It was $258 and it is high season at Vero Beach at March break. It would have cost me 40 points for the same night and I didn't want to use that many.

The cruise is getting so close. DH got is tux out and the McNab tartan vest he had for his brother's wedding.

We have to shop for a dress for DD13 since her last one no longer fits and she needs one for her graduation from elementary school....they make way too big a deal about that these days.....

DD10 gets new shoes and a bit of money since she has the hand-me-down dresses she can wear.

Hiya everyone,

Its snowing and blowing all day. White out conditions. Cold too. Then they announce, its supposed to be sunny and 40 by wednesday again. Kinda glad we are not driving in 19 days would not want to drive if weather is like this.

EE22, thank you so much. no, I had never heard of those discounts. I would want to see if we could bump into each other for a few moments. You too Tomar. We should see, if we could plan something. We are hooking up with Candi and her family, on friday the 13th [of march].

Tomar, is the back to normal yet? We are heavy with flu here. We admitted 4 on my shift with flu.

Tomar & TP2, Watch out for this weather system in a few days. Nasty. Hopefully it will go north or south, or turn to rain.

Still need to work on packing and clothes. Bought a couple of cute T's at JCPenny last nite. Went to pick up my free catalog and spent too much.

MKY - I think that is why they give you a free catalogue but you have to pick it up.

Next weekend is shopping for us before we go. I don't want to go too late but we are having the same weather here and don't want to go out yet. Plus March should bring some new things into the stores....which is next weekend.

Good Evening Ladies
I spent this lovely saturday at the mall with Mr. Tomar looking to see what I can see at the Disney Store....I can honestly say that the store has ZERO adult clothing now-a-days ...and is gearing up to only have childrens "Disney related clothing and toys"....I bought a few Disney Dollars and out I went ....there was a time I used to just stay in the store for my "Disney Fix" before going to the world...but not lately.....I only go now for the Perfectly Princess ...we bought her a Cute Princess Romper and Sunglasses for Valentines day .....
She is all better now from the mysterious "Only Fever" sickness ( thank you for asking MKY )
I know you told me what it was TP2 (I mean the technical name for it) ...but you know me...I make up my own names for things !! ....Hense..."The Myterious only Fever sickness"
About the DVC "Friends and Family" discounts....TP2.....I think I mentioned about it last year when it came out....but you weren`t going to the world (because of Sis`s wedding) ....and if you were ....you were gunna do the "Free Dining" at the time ....This year....EE22 and I will certainly let you guys know...if...and when we get the email again !!

Question time

I have a business trip to Orlando in mid March. We are considering turning it in to a quick family trip too. Go down a couple days early and have a long weekend at Disney before the family flies back (DS has school) and I go on to the meetings.

Would you do this???? The airfare is a bit high but we'd only have to buy 2 tickets instead of 3. We would only have 2 full days (1 travel day) at Disney.

The plus would be that the Flower & Garden Festival is on during this time, but our APs have expired so we'd have to buy tickets. Is March just a crazy busy time to try to do a quick weekend trip???

OT - EE22 - Did you get a bunch of the white stuff???? We got about 4 inches - yuck! I am sooooo ready for spring

Minnie...March is a busy time, but so is Christmas and we went down for a quick trip. I'm not sure if I could handle only two days though!

Yes, we had snow and I'm very tired of it and now it's cold again too. I have been sick for a week and want SPRING!!

MKY - I found a discount site that is going to same me a few dollars. I only had an inter. SUV for the three days after the cruise but managed to get a mini van from Budget for about $10 less than the good rate I had.

Almost 2 weeks to go!

I am so ready for wdw now. Just booked our July trip, took the 7 for 4 deal again. It was the best we could do. The AAA rate save about 150.00. So the deal was better. Or we where looking at off site. That ain't gonna happen.

EE22, & Tomar, Very excited, to all be there at the same time. Tomar, you have to have a great Jersey accent, or I will be dissappointed. I will promise to say "pop" & never soda. That is about the height here.

Candi, thanks for the help on the cars, but really want to stay with National. I did score a great rate for July. Same code using in March, but not so great in March. But better than others still.

TP2, I will let you know if we like july better than august.
