Hey Mouseaddicts and VMKchloe: I hope you have wonderful trips. Be safe traveling.

Mouseaddicts: Sorry about your stepdaughter. My own kids are a lot and they are young so I really can't imagine. Just remember that you are leaving in the morning for a wonderful vacation.

Mickeywho: Thanks for all of the wonderful information. We were going crazy trying to convert our money before crossing the border but kids had to go potty and just wanted to get there already so we entered without any conversion. Biggest mistake. Actually, our biggest mistake was having NO IDEA what the conversion was from US to Canadian dollars. I used to work a lot with Canadian billing and the company I worked for always used 1.4 to figure out the price difference. Wow have things changed. I thought it was about the same but instead it was like a .03. DH and I were fighting because I could not BELIEVE that the US dollar was worth so little. Well you live and you learn. Our 4 days there were MORE EXPENSIVE than our 10 days at WDW. Can you believe it??? We kept it pretty basic too. We bought the Adventure Pass which got us into the Butterfly conservatory, Maid of the Mist, Behind the Falls, and some other tour. It was all great and I felt right at home. They provide unlimited transportation for the day and we had to take buses. It was just like being at WDW. We felt like pros. That pass took 2 days with all the kids. Spent another day at Marineland and a day at Clifton Hill and the resort just walking around. The kids favorate part was Marineland. DH and I loved Maid of the Mist.

Princess_Chloe was my VMK characters name.... well still is... but when I signed up for this board.. I was playing VMK.. although I haven't played in over a year. But when I started planning our vacation, I just logged back in under that since I already had it! lol


Thanks everyone... We are getting ready to leave... we have to take the dogs to grandma's, then come back and get the OTHER car.. then we are outta here! For all of you who pray, please pray for a safe trip for us and mouseaddicts too! We'd really appreciate it. It's the first time we've tried driving a trip this long!

EE22: I already have the AAA rate for the first part of the stay and I think that price is a little better. I am going to call tomorrow to make sure. I did call today to see if I could change resorts to one with a water slide at the pool. I can change the first half but I would lose free dining if we switched resorts. I thought about a split stay but to go from a moderate to a value during the same trip would just hurt. One time we went from YC to POFQ and that was pretty stinky. We felt POFQ was beautiful and if we were there first would have thought it was just wonderful but staying at YC first was kind of a downer. I am a little surprised that they would not let me change resorts during free dining because of all the free upgrades they are offering, I was willing to pay for it. I REALLY believe that there is a reason for everything. I am just going to leave things as is and hope for the best. I did think about getting a second room for more space at the discounted rate. My only fear is the nightmare at checkin when our rooms are not connecting. The last 2 trips were terrible at checkin because we were traveling with family and they did not have us together. Don't really understand why because we were a grand gathering and all but who knows.

I can't believe with a grand gathering that they didn't put you together. That stinks. What's the point.

TP2- I know that so many things are so iffy when your tryng to put together the best senario you can possibally have...with the time frame you have...it becomes alitlle daunting. .to just say this is it....and stick to it
But....your a great planner...and Im sure things will fall into place for you !

As of right now we are going Tuesday - Wednesday. Not bad but I would love to add Monday. This way we get there and are all set. I am not ready to cancel our room yet, I am still holding out hope.

Tomar: You are so close. It gets so exciting when you see days instead of months until your trip.

Happy 4th of July!

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Hopefully, mouseaddict's & vmk chloe, made it safely to disney and are having a great time. Maybe they even met up. (playing golf)

TP2, Glad to hear everything went well at the falls. I just watched a special last nite, on the travel channel about Niagra. It really is beauitful. That is strange about not letting you upgrade with the dining. They are only hurting themselves.

EE22, wow, a general code, you don't see that much anymore. I saw they announced the thanksgiving dinners, we have primetime 50's, one of the more practical choices?

Well, finally got a few minutes to catch up. The fireworks are pounding around our neighborhood. I thought they where illegal in Illinois? Getting ready for bed, worked today and tommorow, but I am off this upcoming weekend. We had a nice family bbq / dinner and played cards after, nice day after I got home. Work was especially nasty today. Lots of accidents.

MKY: So sorry to hear you had a bad night at work. Probably lots of accidents with fireworks. That and too much drinking and stupid behavior. I am sure you see it all.

I can't believe how close everyones trips are. I paid off my balance yesterday. 45 days is next week but we leave 6 days prior to that. It is going too fast. I still need to finalize our ADR's. I lost my notebook with all of my confirmation numbers so I am flipping out a bit. I did use the Disney website to plan everything but it does not seem to work the best for me.

Well.... as of this morning...we are at 19 Days !!!:WOO HOO !!woohoo:
Im really getting excited doing last minute check up stuff now...most of our packing is done...We`re sending a box of things to Saratoga soon...and this vacation is.....ON ITS WAY !!!!!

MKY- Thank you so much ofr the birthday wishes ...I hope that Max has a great one too !!!!!!
Our Township hare in New Jersey...does a nice Fireworks show every year (nothing like Disney of course )...but nice...
Sorry for all the accidents too....this holiday (even though its so patriotic....is also dangerous )

TP2- I saw the same travel chanel program as MKY..about Niagra....it looked sooo beautiful ! Glad you guys had a good time !

EE22- Hope the kiddies are winnng alot of medals in thier competitions !!

Last night I could not sleep, dont know if it was the rain here in the north or just I had disney on the brain. I am so worried that it is going to be crowed during our trip. We have never been to Disney during Aug. We are use to no wait/ no lines when we visit. We went the middle of Sept in 2005 and Oct. in 2000. Please everyone stay home Aug. 26th through
Sept. 2nd.

HEY Y'ALL!!!

I'm actually posting this from our room @ CR!
We have a MK view from our balcony & I can't believe how awesome it is!!! MYY - I'm sooo jealous that you get to be here for 18 nights!

We met up with VMKChloe Sunday night @ MK - We watched wishes together & rode some stuff in Fantasyland! And yes EE22 - we took a picture together!!! Once we get back, I'll try to post some to share.

We're off to the pool now for some night swimming ....... I told DH that we have to sleep with the drapes open b/c I can SEE the castle from my bed!!!

Pamouselover, Yes, it will be crowded. Just expect it, so you won't be dissappointed. Remember free dining is starting up in august, & it was very big last year.

TP2 good luck on you adr's. They are so confusing. We have a core group, that we keep repeating with some new ones. We are going to try out germany. Sis does not like buffet's but said she will give it a shot for cabbage rolls.

EE22, hope all is ok out in Iowa. Please stop sending the rain this way. Hope the kids did well with their competitions.

We are now 40 days out. It is finally getting here. I am sooooooooo tired of waiting. But then summer will almost over, when we get back. I hate winter after the first snow.
