He works in a factory, so it's hard for him. I usually do it ... as y'all already know - it's how we all met! ..... I sit @ a desk in front of a computer with a calculator, so it's easier for me. He just sprang this trip on me TOTALLY last minute b/c his boss came over bragging about the rate they got for their trip .... you know men!

The thing was ... this past wknd, we had this conversation about how we are NOT going to WDW this fall b/c we NEED to save $$$ for a "new" (used) car next year, new W/D, a big-screen TV and one day (about a million yrs from now) be able to put in a pool ....... Yeah, we see what happened to no trip!

We have a pool at our house! It's really nice... but it can be a headache! I think I'd rather have more Disney! lol

Then we MUST meet up!!! You can't say "no"! We've known each other entirely too long NOT to meet at the world!!!

If I can talk Chloe into it in July .... then I'll have to work on TP2 & TOMAR ....

We need to compare our Itineraries a little better to see if we can! lol

Hey All: Missed all the chatting last night. We are trying to plan a last minute trip to Niagara Falls for this weekend. Has anyone been? Looks like we can't miss the Butterfly Conservatory, Maid of the Mist, and Marineland. Also, spend time in Niagara Village. Did I miss anything? We thought that we got a great rate on the room at Embassy but just found out they charge $20 per day to park. Why don't they just add that to the room rate and not charge guests parking? I feel a little ripped off. Anyone know if there is a way around this? Maybe parking at casino and walking to hotel? Not sure of distance, DH already has a players card so we are hoping for free parking there.

Chi Town is like that...the parking is a killer.
I was in Niagara Falls about 30 years ago I do remember it though and it's beautiful. The Canadian side is better. If Maid of the Mist is the boat ride...that was GREAT.

Got cancelled today at work again. I might have to re-think # of days, if I keep getting cancelled. Maybe I need a second job?

TP2, I loved Niagra! Stay on the Canadian side. It was way better. I am not sure where the embassy suite is thou. I think we where last there, when EE22 had the room next to us. I remember going up in the skylon? tower and it was right near the falls, that was fantastic. Also the tunnels where re-done, last time sis went and she loved it. Just enjoy the colors they put on the falls at nite, with lights. (if they still do it). That was very special. Are you driving? Wondering how long a drive from your area to niagra would be. From here about 12 hrs? Canada via detroit is quicker. I80 stinks.

ee22, Your right about parking in chicago, last time we stayed over night I think it was $40.00 to park > AND NOT VALET!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Mine is starting early. Plan to take it easy on my foot. I still can't believe how stupid this whole thing is. Maybe if I ignore it, it will go away? Can you tell I am a nurse?

I still can't acess the wdw ap site resort offers. I want to, that's why its not working. Maybe I should try sis's computer?

TP2: Might be cheaper in Canandian with the exchange rate? don't know. I know gas isn't though!!

I think you can walk across bridge to see the other side???
it's been a few years. We drove that way coming back from NH to MI and it was faster.

Wonder what they will do when people need passports to get from Canada to the US?

Last year they were released the same day as the fall/winter ap rates and my first day of work...remember? You called me!!! How sad is that? I was such a mess that day! I hate the first day back. It's a nightmare. This year we have THREE new members in my department. I'll be in the looney bin.

At least you can get CL out of the way before your August trip.

So...you did get the ap rate? I hope so.

Will you be in the World again when they might release ap rates for the next trip? If you trust me...I'd over it again. Or...at least try. I guess in a way I did help since I called you about the Visa deal. I need to redeem myself!!

Not thrilled with CP speakers. While we are there. Doubt we will do it. Maybe take a look walking by, But the dinners etc.. . just aren't that interested for the price. We have seen it before. Now if John Stamos signs up for the T B A spot Maybe.

Good luck, with all your new teachers. You will be the mama duck, leading your flock. Summers we always get a lot of new help too, just licenced to practice.

I live about 45 minutes away from Niagara so maybe I can help.
Most of the hotels charge for parking - price varies - I know it's crazy but true. When we go to Clifton Hill (restaurants, shopping, amusement area)we like to park in the ground level lot behind Planet Hollywood. As far as I know it's the only free parking around. Everything is a close walk from there. If you park inside any of the parking garages there is a charge.
To go to the Falls you must drive further along the parkway where you will see parking lots along a park area. Not sure what they charge - but I think I remember $5-$10.
I highly recommend Butterfly Conservatory - tons of fun - the will land all over you! Plus the drive there is very nice - all parkland, great views, a few nice places to stop for pictures etc.
You'll need a day for Marineland on it's own so keep that in mind for planning.

PS - change you money at a bank on the US side. Any of the canadian business will give you an exchange rate but it's a real ripoff!

Packing is going good....Thank goodness for Zip-locks !!!

TP2- DH was at Nigara Falls when he was a teenager (waaaay back when )
I have never been either...but I heard it was a sight to see !!

You could just listen outside for CP. We loved it last year. I knew we'd never go again for years so we did the dinner package with our friend who is a CM there. I know a lot of people just listen and don't have a seat. Who knows too...maybe when you're there it wouldn't be too busy at the first show. We LOVED the tree lighting at Epcot. Don't miss it..very cute and you have to be there early too. Very neat.

The ap rate for our trip came out that day that you called me (the 15th I think) so they went through Dec 22nd. I'd be glad to try again when your at WDW. I think it's following the same pattern as last year, but would have to check mousesavers to be 100%.

We need an Ark here. 5 inches of rain and it's still coming down in buckets! I walked in the middle of the yard earlier today and my feet were in standing water. NOT good!

oh, I will! I have about 2700 pictures available all together on my memory cards! So, I'm good to go! I will most likely use all of them! lol I will just make an online photo album for them.. to share.. rather than post all of them! that would take forever!!!!

About Niagra Falls...... if you stay on the Canadian side.. just don't make the mistake my brother did! lol They were out site seeing, taking pictures... and crossed this bridge to get some more pictures.. there were no signs... But they went to cross back over and discovered they had crossed over the border into the United States.. that's no big deal.. but my SIL and niece left their passports in their hotel in Canada! lol They would not let them back in. They spent half the day in customs.

Just a lesson.. never ever leave without your passports!

My brother was so upset about it, but now everyone can laugh about it. Hope you don't mind me sharing!

yeah they had to have one.. getting from Canada to the United States, it was easy.. there was no one.. but going from the US back into Canada that's where they had the problem.

I agree... but I guess if the borders are that strict to get into Canada.. then it would be hard for them to get to the Canada/US border. But I have thought the same thing!
