June, July, August PLANNING thread

This was the email code that TP2 wrote about so I went and looked for the thread. No one knows how these mailing lists are developed, but if you don't have the email sent to you, you cannot use it. Free dining is speculation on my part, but this is following the code tend that summer brought about last year. We went in June, and there were no codes for June except very early or very late in the month and that included ap rates. If you are staying offsite, you might want to consider ordering the dvd off the Disney site and seeing if they might send you something afterwards. It's worth a shot.

How do you get on those mailing lists?

VMK: No one knows how to get on the mailing list. I don't have the code either and trust me I have signed up for absolutely everything related to Disney. It just seems to be the luck of the draw. I found the information about the rate on the codes and rates board. All info is posted there.

EE22::sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I have yet to find the answer to one question...hopefully one of you can help. As far as the FP's are concerned, if I picked one up in DL you could use it anytime throughout the day (not just in the window). Is this true of DW, as well? Thanks so much!

ok, but what other things are there to sign up for besides mousesavers? I'm completely new to this. Oh, and the disney website.

Yes, but not early, only later than the window time.

Getting postcards by snail mail and codes through email is one of the 8 wonders of the Universe. No one knows where the list is generated from and why they send stuff to certain people. There is no answer as to how to get on the list for sure. Some pencil pushers decide who should get them then too. :confused3 It's all about marketing, making money and getting people to the World.

I'd bet my year's pay on this though...it's not that much since I'm a teacher and our pay is ranked 41st in the nation, but! Since I won't be going for some time, I'd bet my paycheck that I will get a code in the near future. When we went in 2001 and then didn't go in 2002, in the spring of 2003 I did get a "come back code" in the mail. Since that time, I have only received them for the fall/winter after we have gone in the summer. But, now that we have been several times, I don't get them. However, others who go a lot do get them. There's no pattern that I can figure out. I just gave up on the entire thing.

I think ordering the DVD off the official site does help though.

Did you call CRO and ask if there were any discounts associated with your name? I read all the time that people do this. Sometimes the cards get lost through the PO or the email goes to your spam folder rather than your inbox.

That's all I know and it's not much and probably not very helpful. That's how this thread started...the waiting:surfweb: for codes last spring.

I should join the June code watch thread as I'm watching for one of DD's teachers. I could pretend we are going even though we aren't. Then on my fake day of departure I could just go to the Disney Store and look at the music screen :lmao: I might need meds though after the depression starts!

Hey guys !!!:flower3:
Ya know that`s soooo funny....I received that e-mail "Code" if you will... last week...and totally dismissed it...because it eliminated all of june...until late in august....so it didn`t apply to my ressie dates.... and I didn`t think any more about it
Was it significant to just a chosen few ?....I feel honored
But......no cigar !!!::rolleyes:
The "Perfectly Princess" has a cold......Im soooooo sad !!!!:sad2:
I can hear her sniffling on the phone:sad1:
DDIL says she is actually alittle better...but Im not happy unless I can hear her laugh !!!  she has her grandma`s heart...that`s for sure !!!!

Look .... we order that stinkin' DVD from the official Disney website EVERY YEAR because DH says he "collects" them ...... we also ordered the customized park maps with our name on them recently .....we get the mousesavers newsletter ..... we get the Passporter newsletter .... we are DVC member, annual passholders, AAA members .... and we went to the "world" - staying ON site - THREE times last year ........... you think WE got the email with the 40% discount???? HECK NO! :confused3

We've already got THREE DVC trips planned for this year .... and we're not done! We're going to Vero Beach in April, Boardwalk Villas in May and Saratoga Springs in July. We're still looking at an October trip & possibly (hopefully) a Christmas/New Year's trip!

I guess Disney knows they've got us, so they don't share the discounts voluntarily. If they're available, we'll find 'em though! ;)

Okay - I showed DH this thread (again) and let him read & catch up with us ... he was like "THERE's A 40% DISCOUNT CODE?!?!?" :lmao:

"No dear, it's just for the people who got the email."

"Why didn't WE get the email?!?! What else can we do???" :rotfl:

Oh, to know the magic answer to that one ..........

Tomar - when are you going to be @ SSR this year? Don't you just love it there? This is only our 2nd trip "home", but we can't wait to go back! We're hoping to be close to the new pool area for the kids.

MKY - what are your dates this year? Aug again? (sorry, too lazy to go back that far & read)

TP2 - have you talked DH into it yet?

EE22 --- I'm going to miss seeing you this year!!! We HAVE to go back at the same time to take our picture together - since we totally spaced out on it last year!!! BTW - DH is DYING to go to Boma after meeting y'all!

We were looking at menus last night trying to decide on ADR's, but we haven't made our decisions yet. We're planning to do the dining plan again for the nights we're staying on points & pay cash for the rest.

OH YEAH ..... we made ressies for CR for 3 nights ... Tower MK View - OUCH to the wallet! At least we got a AAA rate though - better than nothing!

Mouseaddicts: I still can't believe we didn't take a picture together. I'm so glad you joined the thread again:goodvibes Even though we aren't going this summer, we had an awesome time over Christmas.

I'm so tired from running, I'm not sure I could do a WDW vacation this summer. I may just drop into a sleeping coma on the first day of vacation and never wake up.:faint:

There are a few people who have asked me for help for a trip they are taking and that helps, but it's difficult to help someone brand new with a question like, "where should we stay" and "where should we eat":scared1:

I'm not sure why I keep finding ways to torture myself, but airfares for June dropped to what they were last year:sad2: DD received her letter telling her when the summer University bball camp is yesterday. Last year, right around now is when we booked our plane tickets, bought Cirque tickets and I re did all of our dining ADRs and met my Net friends on the code watch thread:surfweb:

It's going to be a longgggggggg mentally depressing day here in the Field of Dreams:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Hi Guys !!!!::goodvibes
Well..... getting ready for calling in our ADR`s !!
:cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

Mouseaddicts- Yes.....we just love our home away from home also !:cloud9:
We`ll be leaving the last week of July :woohoo:
DH loves the Congress Park area.....the View of the water...and downtown Disney :cloud9: as well as the quiet pool.....it`s soooo pretty:flower3:
we`re going to try the "Turf Club" for the first time....we`ve never eaten there before....have you?
This will be our 3rd time at SSR....the first year we were DVC owners...we stood at the BCV (alot of construction going on at SSR...so we passed)...the second year we stood at SSR and the BWV (1 week each)...but this year we`re opting not to move....it takes alot out of our precious Disney Day !!;)
Good to have ya back on our planning thread also !!!

EE22- pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:
This is for YOU today !!!!!:flower3:

Pixie Dust for calling tomorrow:cool1:

BOMA rocks:goodvibes
You should try it once mouseaddicts.

WOW I am sooooooooooooo out of the loop! I missed a 40% year discount. Now I am bummed. No, I got a code for the month of March. And we are not going, then. EE22 > I am not taking your bet, I KNOW you will get a discount. (I think they read here and know when we are not going) Oh well. Just think if we all got that code, then we would not have to call, worry, call some more? What would I do in the mornings?

Tomar, thanks for the heads up. You said you have to call in your ADR's soon and I checked I am about 20 days out. Yikees, I haven't even thought about it. I am going to have to make a chart????????

August > I am still waiting for Vacation approval, but looks like it should go through. (# 3 in seniority out of 18). We want the last 2 weeks in august going into the labor day weekend. And maybe add a couple of days before? Thur, fri, sat.

Sorry, haven't been around for a while. Busy with :darth: Vader (he is up to 40# and still growing). We are going to Puppy school. And not to mention following The Bears!

vmk princess chloe-
ADR`s mean... "Advance Dining Reservations".....If you are staying on Disney property.....you have the advantage of calling 180 days in advance of your check-in date.... to make a priority seating reservation for any of the Disney Restaurants..... for up to 10 days of dining :goodvibes

MKY- I hope that you get the dates you want at work.... for vacationpixiedust:
WOW.....Darth is really grown up already !!!!
Yep- It might be time to consider where you guys are Dining soon !!!!;)

:surfweb:

I read a few threads here last nite and found the one about the new "code" for 30% off. I think it is a code you have to have attached to your name. Even thou some people got to use it, I would not be sure when it comes time to go you might not get it.

I also found that 2008 > the disney cruise line's Wonder is having double castaway cay visits on there 4 nite cruises. :yay:  :yay: Already looking into planning that!:thumbsup2 We will try to pick dates and if have to change them will have to? But that is exciting news. For us the biggest reason to take the cruise is castaway cay.pirate:

Tomar what adr's are a must for you? Or any plans yet? I am not even sure if we plan to stay at CR the whole time or split somewhere? Now, I have to decide about dining? Yikees.
