Bumpped up to say hi :wave2: to all my friends on this thread! :goodvibes
Hope everyone had a good mem. weekend :sunny:
I`ve been busy packing, and getting everything in order to leave for our son`s house at the end of the month
Can`t believe all the silly things I bought all year :earseek: I lost track, and I`m usually such an organized person
For instance, I now am the proud owner of about 8 rain ponchos (and only the 2 of us are going this trip) :teeth:

Life definately got busy. I am glad that we made a decision to go in August instead of July. Even flights are pretty expensive, the Dings have not been good. Life has been crazy planning my DD2 birthday. Her party is on Saturday and between that and the end of the year with school, well... . Looking forward to this weekend being over so I can just enjoy all of the kids activities at this point. Hope everyone is enjoying the beginning of their summers.

Life here is also out of control nutso!! Today was the last day with students so Monday will be it for me and I can't wait to get after packing. I haven't started even which is so odd for me. I guess I should be glad though since I don't have a rain poncho for each day of our trip! :rotfl: That cracked me up!!

Thanks!! I hope you do too!!

If I can just get beyond being overwhelmed at the moment, I'll be fine. I want things put away from work, the house cleaned, the shrubs trimmed, the packing started, my summer school work done which will be major, running the kids to and fro.... I have to keep talking to myself about the Golden Gate Bridge. It's painted everyday to keep it nicely painted. I just need to paint a bit each day and I'll get it all done. :artist:

Hiya,

Wow alot of the trips are fastly approaching. remember to come back here and tell us all the news, from the trips. ;)

I am still in the high 50's so no packing yet. Closest I have come is a few items picked up, along the way.

Everyone have a great summer. mky princess:

I'm in the low 20's and I'm freaking out!!
But, I got my final work done at school today so I can coast out Monday morning and then I can hit it hard on Tuesday with packing. I have to unpack all this stuff from work first!! I hate the end of the school year!!

New member to the boards. We have been members since August 05 at SS. So far as members we've been to OKW, summer of 05, WL in January 06, and now SS in August of 06. 63 days and counting! For a newbie, how do I learn all the lingo, for instance what are ADR's? and what is a code? BTW, I see we aren't the only ones obssessed with WDW. We're driving this year for the first time. Any tips??

Hi Gerry, Welcome to the boards, I'm still pretty new to the boards myself, and def. new to DVC - just became a member w/i the last month.

This link should help with the lingo: http://www.wdwinfo.com/abbreviations.htm

There's probably some missing, ie. I notice ADR is missing: it stands for Advanced Dining Reservations. . .

Have fun!!

:goodvibes

:cheer2: Got in on the august discounts. :cheer2: Thank god, just have to worry about october yet. Hope it helped someone else out.

You guys would be soooo impressed. :3dglasses I have not been calling every day, or not even checking the computer daily. So I was not going to go crazy with getting up early. Did just fine. Got what we needed. (and wanted). Hope it helped someone else out too. :cloud9:

Was especially nice after the day at work I had. :sad2:  Got off 3 hours late, after I was supposed too, and that was not working extra, just finishing the things I needed to get done. :smooth: Seriously, would get out of nursing, if it wasn't for my disney habit. :rolleyes1

Hope the June people are having a great time at wdw! :wizard:

Mky: So glad you got what you wanted for August. You were waiting for Poly right? I can't believe how quickly they came out this time. I am happy though with the free dining. We are staying 2 full weeks and it is coming to less than what we had budgeted using the AP. Also, August seems to be much quieter than July so hopefully the crowds will be manageable. Now all I have to do is pray for no hurricanes during our trip.

Hi MKY :wave2:
just got a chance to open the pc tonight, and, I see you have been able to get a rate that your happy about :goodvibes I`m so glad for you
Hope you didn`t have to change any BIRTHDAY :cake: Plans !@#%&!

TP2- Hope you were able to get a great airfare price! :goodvibes

I have 2 more weeks before we leave for SC, and I still have a ton of things to do  I hate to get stressed at the eleventh hour :hourglass  ;)

Tomar@SSR & TP2,

Thanks you guys, yes we are very happy! :thumbsup2 No, I did not change the b-day dinner. We are going to France's chef de france.

Due to the AP rates we are at BC for 4 days, (during b-day) & the 14 days at the poly. Got pretty good rates for each (doing std views). And we needed the ap for our tix anyway. ;) (our 4 fav. resorts are poly, bc, cr, & PORS) . So I am always happy, to stay at any of these. :wizard:

Wow, tomar@ssr your trip "home" is sooooooooo close. :cloud9: Are you all packed, checked your plans, and adr's? You will have a great trip.

Everyone have a great weekend. :sunny: It is just 60 / 50's and cloudy here today. Hope it is nicer where you are.

The weather has not been nice on Long Island either. We opened our pool Memorial Day and still have not been in it. It is so cold that my girls are still wearing light coats when they go out. I keep telling them to enjoy it now because in August we are going to MELT in Florida. :sunny:

Looks like you have all of your plans set. Glad to hear it. I am still trying to work out an ADR here or there and then I need to set up each days wish list.

We are thinking of adding the plus passes but I am wondering if anyone has been to Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon with young children. I have DD7, DD5, and DD2. My DH really wants to go to the shark pool at Typhoon Lagoon but I am not sure of age restrictions. Anyone have any ideas?

DD8 went in the shark pool. It's really neat. I think they just have to be able to swim alone and be a little bit of a risk taker to go in there :) She went alone. I hate salt water!! I'm not sure if there is an age limit. Didn't seem to be anyway. We are planning an entire day at TL this year. My family loves the wave pool. Beware of the wave pool.

I'm deep into packing!! 13 days

I have to do a couple chapters in my new textbook before we go though. I've been cleaning my house...I need to stop that. I have the dust bunnies more under control now though so I feel better about them. We bought a new bed so that was major moving the old one to DS room, etc. But, now I need to hit the books before we go! The bunnies will be here when we get back.

We have been cold here too...back to that May weather, but it was warm for about 3 weeks after our May rains.

:smooth: TP2>

I did take 2 of my neices to TL when it opened & they where 10yr, and 12yr. But short and small for ages. The TL wave pool is not a light wave. even the small breaking waves seemed to knock and drag the younger one. They where both fair to poor swimmers, at the time. During the "big" wave action It really knocks me over (5'1") and I ripped up the buttom of my suit, being dragged on the floor of the pool. This is worse the shallower you are. The deeper end was actually alot calmer, and easier to handle. Although I am not a strong swimmer.

:cheer2: But on the other hand > TL (and for that matter, BB) are alot of fun. We have always had a great time at both of them. Just figure out what the kids can handle. These slides, lazy river, whatever...... . And do not under any circumstances under estimate how tired & much exercise it will be. (we did :confused3 ) I thought it would be our "relaxing day" and spent most of time in a float on the lazy river, you are constantly "in motion" and my feet / legs had no rest.

Have a great time, and get there early.

When I said my family loves the wave pool...that doesn't include me...I only watch :happytv: it is not my friend...that's why I said beware.

I can't remember if was the first time or the second time I was plowed to the ground by a wave and I'm 5'8". Both of my kids are excellent swimmers as well. The lazy river...now, there's some fun for me ;)

Agreed! ;) I think I've thrown out at least 3 suits after going in that wave pool. Why is the bottom so rough? I guess its supposed to slow it down, but wow, it snag's you suits up.

You must be sooooo excited, only 2 weeks? :cheer2: (the new storm should be all gone by then).
