Yes it's true.
My DH and I are on a budget now and even though we live relatively close to Disney, we didn't want to pay the $20+ in gas to go over and back today. We wanted to go to Epcot for dinner, which we do often, but with our budget and gas prices, we decided not to go over this weekend and I'm sadly missing it! :guilty:

boo hiss on gas prices!!!

annieh6: That would be great if you could fill us in with some sort of detail. At this point I would just like to know if they are going to be given or not so we can make our arrangements. Everything depends on what rate we get so it would be lovely to know even that they are NOT coming. :goodvibes
:yay: As much as we all want to know SOMETHING, I also emailed an acquaintance of mine who used to book us at the cast members rates (he worked in reservations as a supervisor for years) to see if he also had any insight about this situation. (They have moved him someplace else now) I am hoping to hear from either of them soon. :rolleyes1

thanks for asking your contacts ---- it is appreciated :)

Hello,

I have been reading this post for a couple of weeks, and thought I would sign in. This is our first trip with an AP and we were hoping for a code!! :scratchin And still am......If not the AP will pay for itself with our July, August, April, July trips!!!

Let's keep hoping and throwing our Pixie dust pixiedust:
And all of you make great company when I read you at 4:30am before I get ready for work!!! :coffee:

Heidi :earsgirl:

Someone needs to know the computer geek (I use that term fondly as DH is one) who enters the codes on the Mickey server that powers CRO ;)

Just called to modify my August ressies. Asked about the AP rates. The CM quickly answered no. He was pretty friendly and from NJ like me. We chatted it up a little. If he knew anything about the release of the AP rates, he wasn't sharing.

ooohhh, I hope he knows something! That would be wonderful!

Well, at least I have a new habit of getting up early now. See you tomorrow a.m. (and this afternoon I'll recheck, just in case)

Sadly, i have the same problem as you. I am up at 4;45CT and now my dog thinks this is great.

Lets hope for this week.

You all are so diligent in getting up early and calling! I keep checking here because I need to add a couple of days to the end of our DVC stay. Yesterday, I just remembered my sister who lives in Tampa has a close friend that works in Tampa's CRO office (I think that is what it is called.) She gets my DSis great CM discounts for the resorts. I called my sister and asked her to try to find out what she can. The CM knows about me and that we frequently go to WDW. She is a seasoned employee and knows the rules but maybe will bend them since she is not speaking to a guest on the phone at work. I figured it is worth a try and I'll let you know if I find out anything. I can't believe I just remembered this resource! I wish we had a CRO office where I live. The longtime CMs get great room discounts. She offered us one in January but we had already paid our package because we wanted to try the DP. I also felt a bit uncomfortable accepting it since I don't really know her. ( I know, I'm loco!)
Tomorrow is another day!

Edited to add- I just read Annieh6's earlier post and realized she is als trying her contacts. Maybe we'll come up with something between us!

I haven't contributed much of anything to this thread since I first posted on it way back in its infancy, lol.
I just wanted to thank you all for taking the time to keep this thread alive and keep us summer travellers updated on the code watch.

Jennifer. :sunny:

I have been lurking here for ever. It seems that codes are very slow coming out this time. My DW and DD both think that we Disney is in the process fo doing away with codes completely in favor of packages. Packages don't work for us since we don't eat 3/day. Any opinions? :guilty: :rolleyes2

It obviously comes down to whether Disney can book the rooms without the codes. When the day comes that they can fill up without discounts and packages, all the pixie dust in the world will not get them to lower the prices.

For this year, my gut still tells me there will be good AP discounts, and I bet the biggest savings will be on the deluxes. I think the last few hurricane seasons and gas prices are going to keep some people away.

BTW, last night I modified my existing ressie to switch from 8 nights at the BC to the YC. No problem, so we know the YC is not full.

For our dates in early-mid July, there are still Courtyard and up rooms available at WL and Savannah and up rooms at AKL. I'm certainly not counting on codes, but I'm definitely still hoping for them! If not, I'll have to start praying for a good Southwest DING fare!

I haven't posted much this weekend, but I'll be here first thing in the morning reporting on site updates and getting my calling fingers ready for 7am!

See you all then!

:goodvibes
