I've had my lime green ribbon on for a few years. tied to back pack (see from back) and a ribbon on a pin. Only one that talked to me, was a CM @ MK who asked what it was for? I had a feeling she knew from the way she said it. So I said "it just represents a group I belong in". She asked "what kinda group" and I told her a disney internet group and she laughed that anyone would bother with disney and it was only a place to work. Etc... I really was bothered by the whole thing // got a real impression she knew before asking and that it was such a joke to some cm's that I haven't put them back on since. Also NO else ever mentioned it to us or gave me a hi.

Thats terrible and humiliating. That was what I was afraid of last year if I asked. Maybe I will rethink the lime green thing.

Geesh! Maybe I should reconsider! I'd never heard of it until recently, and some OP on the boards said that they had CMs say nice things to them about it, and that they were able to say hi to other DIS board members.

Maybe I'll put a post in the countdowns thread and see how many people going during our dates would be interested in wearing it just for fun. At least I'll put the ribbon on our luggage and backpack. I'm planning on also tying on a puzzle piece ribbon for Autism Awareness.

mkygirl > We do over lap a few days. Where are you staying? We might be on the monorail or bus at the same time. We plan the Poly but if the AP's discount isn't there than we are doing a dolphin / poly split (maybe). We will be at wdw august 2 > 20th.

We are planning on staying at the Poly (depends on these ap's!!!!!!)!!! If not we may still stay there or go to our list! I really want the Poly..I have nevered stayed there and would like to!

This will be my first experience with the "green on" and if anyone makes a negative comment ..they aren't cool enough to be with us!

Well, I get why you go back! I took my DS for the first time 7 years ago and we've gone back every year since! (Except for last year because of our wedding and honeymoon. I couldn't convince my DH to go to WDW for that!) My DS has Asperger Syndrome (Autism) and WDW has always been a special place for us. Most of the CMs are so kind to us, and it's the one time of the year that we can have fun and escape the stress of everyday life. I'll keep going back as long as my family still has fun going!

And I guess I will wear my green ribbon!

Yes, I've had people ask me that. And you're right - it's usually the people that haven't been before!

My DH had never been before we started dating. Now he goes each year and has fun while we're there, but always asks me why I wouldn't rather spend that money going somewhere else. Of course, we do go other places, too, but not usually on the scale of Disney. This year, I compromised and we're only going for 9 days - 7 in the parks. I know that probably seems like a lot to some people, but it's less than the norm for us, and I feel a little let down knowing it will be a while before we go again.

Anyway, I guess when and if we see the lime green ribbon or Mickeys, we'll know that it's another person as DIS-crazy as us!

It seems to be a guessing game because they have come out a different times of day in the past but we are hopeful that they will come out in the morning. The exact time changes based on time zone but for me it is 7:00am est.

I have the same problem. My parents think I'm weird for loving WDW so much. MY DH likes it but not the level that I do.
I said I wanted him to plan our 10th anniversary (5 years away) since I planned this one and he said ok, but it won't be Disney. I'm like "WHAT?" I don't want to go to France or Scotland (our Heritage)! I want to go to Disney! Vow Renewal! Cruise! All of it!

I find myself trying to bring up Disneyworld in almost every conversation possible-- with other parents at my children's school, at the grocery store and on the phone paying bills, etc. Out of the blue. Just because I need my Disney Fix-- They act like I'm crazy, like was I even in the same conversation. Oh well any chance I get...My husband doesn't like to talk about it (DISNEY) till he is physically off of work and ready to leave...He says his mind is to focused on what he has to do now (work). Besides that he loves Disney, just does not love talking about it, like I do..!!!!!!!

Tommorrow is the day I think!
