What's to stop me from just getting in the car and going?????

The kids are at school, just wasting away the last few days. I say, let's get the heck out of here!

But oh, the miles of chores that stand in my way:

deliver the guinea pig to sitter
mow
buy sunscreen and ponchos
put away pool stuff
stop the mail
pack
lead a 1/2 day meeting
buy father's day gifts
deliver the dog to sitter
lead cub scout meeting
laundry
buy a teacher gift
help with last day of school party
make cupcakes
print itineraries, confirmations
print park hours
paint toenails
work

Sigh...after getting ready for vacation, I will have EARNED this vacation!

Looking forward to some new things to do, like Soarin, Expedition Everest, and the water coaster ride at TL.

Only 16 and one half days to go!!! Finishing up our packing list, bought new luggage for the kids and the excitement is mounting. Two of my girls, ages 10 & 15 are a bit hesitant to fly, but they'll be just fine. I'm a bit currious on how my one year old grandson will act on the plane (JetBLUE).

We figured him to be a lap child for the flight, we were not too concerned because he couldn't walk yet as of a couple weeks ago. Yesterday at the beach, he was standing on his own and taking his first serious steps, in the sand no less! And, he was hitting the water without hesitation, jumping right in. Then, when he crawls, like any baby does when they learn to crawl, he was like a cat and moving fast.

Today, we'll begin our online shopping for items to be delivered to the Grand Floridian for a two week stay. I've looked at GardenGrocer.com, we'll also look at others. I've noticed one website (Jetsetbabies.com) has a bigger selection for baby items. Then we looked at WeGoShop.com but can't seem to locate their stock of items list like the other websites have so we can view what we're buying. Any clues and any recommendations?

Praying for good health, sunshine and NOOOOOO storms or bad weather, safe flights and a magical vacation for the kids.:dance3:

I'll be at the MAgic Kingdom 2 weeks from today! We are going to be in Orlando from the 23rd to the 1st. So much to do before we leave, but that's all part of the fun!

:dance3: Can anyone recommend their favorite or preferred building/rooms at the G. Floridian? We're celebrating three birthdays and a graduation.

When I made reservations, I explained to the cast member that I'd like to be pretty centrally located to the monorail/bus stop, and to the themed pool.

I also explained that I have difficulty walking long distances due to my back and neck conditions, and I'll be worn down from the parks. My oldest daughter will be 18 weeks pregnant and also traveling with my one year old grandson, we'll also have my ten and fifteen year old daughters as well.

In our conversation, I explained that I preferred not to have a blocked garden view room because of the main pool building, and that we liked balconies with a nice view. We always seem to end up with a garden/parking lot for some reason. I booked this in January '07.

The cast member recommended the Boca Chica building, but it appears that it is a seven to ten minute walk to the monorail, am I correct in this and should I just leave it as is?. I realize we're not paying for concierge and asking for a lot here.

  :yay: :dance3: :yay:  We leave Friday for the Cities and fly out Saturday.
I've got way too much to do!:scared1:

I can't recommend a building because I've never stayed at the GF, but in the past when I've stayed at the Poly, when I got a room location that I was unhappy with (just once) I simply went to the front desk, explained my concerns very nicely, and they moved us right away.

Good luck and no worries! It sounds like you're going to have a lovely family trip!
