June half term - should we even think about it?!

Hello everyone - hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year - at DLP or home!

So - we are very keen to get another trip in with our APs before they expire at the end of June, but with a trip to Australia in the summer for a wedding, pennies and annual leave days are in short supply!

So, as the Queen has so kindly given us an extra day off this year, my question is - will June half term/bank hols be absolutely awful for crowds? We have been twice in the last 6 months (!) so we don't need to do absolutely everything, but we get a bit grumpy with crowds! Would probably stay in the cheapie Ibis again unless there's a great deal.

Should we risk it, or just try and squeeze some extra days off around a normal weekend? Edited to add- 2 not very grown up adults, no kids going!

We have been in half term week both last year and the year before. Apart from Thursday/Friday last year which were French bank holidays the crowds were very manageable. No other countries in Europe are on holiday that week because they all finish for the summer earlier than us. I did trip reports for both those trips so you could have a look for an idea of how busy it was

I don't think it will that busy, as has been said no other European schools are off in our early June bank holiday this year.

I have been pricing it up & it appears they don't recognise it as school holidays for us as its coming out cheaper then the October half term, so I doubt it will be mega busy

I did a lot of homework on european hols etc and it's only the UK that has holidays/bank holidays then so I'm hoping it's not too bad. We've always gone in term time before but our little girl is now at school so we're more limited.

As said before the price is the lower band so it shouldn't be too busy (fingers crossed!) it's the only school holiday we could afford to go during!

Apparently it's that week - 4th to the 8th

But it's the only school holidaysin sight so with the extended opening hours it shouldn't be that bad

We've been at half term (when it was end May) and like others found it was only an issue on the days of local Bank Holidays - Asencion Day, I think. So as long as that's not included you should be fine.

But don't forget French schools often have an afternoon off either Wednesday or Thursday (depending on the region) so that might be the time to either go home or do something else

Which regions have Thursdays off ?

I've only ever known Wednesdays, first half days and now full days off for the under 14/15 year olds and the afternoon off for the lycée ones
