June comes before August & the APs will still be valid! I think we're done here!

9 weeks until departure!!

The shopping urge is getting to me. I bought 2 shirts at Target the other day, and one at Ross yesterday. None of them fit, so I'll be returning them today. I don't think I will be able to resist the siren call of Nordstrom Rack much longer. May have to go there today. :rolleyes1

I took DS for "contact lens training" yesterday but it did not go well. He wants to keep wearing glasses. He actually never complained about his glasses - he likes them. I just thought for WDW it would be easier to have contacts. But he didn't like the contacts and he was really struggling with getting them in and out so we decided to just scrap that plan entirely. We got some new glasses at the mall last night and he is perfectly happy. It is just a pain to switch back and forth between his plain glasses and his sunglasses each time we go in or out of an attraction.

Last year the Disney liquidation sale came to town and we bought a bunch of trading pins. It occurred to me the other day that I can't remember where I put them. They are here somewhere. We are cutting back on pin trading because it just takes up so much TIME! Not to mention the counterfeit issues and the expense. But we might as well trade off the rest of the traders we have on hand. If I can find them.

YAY for 9 weeks!:cool1:

I'm at less than 5 but as usual feel more like:scared1: than

Have you tried glasses with sunglass clips? I tried transistion glasses that change but they don't lighten up quick enough for me. I like the clips better but they are so expensive!

The very first year he had glasses we bought one pair with the sunglass clip. It made them too heavy or bulky or something so he never wanted to wear the clip.

I think part of the problem with the contacts was the way she was telling him to hold his eyelid open. It looked awkward to me. But also, I can touch the surface of my eye if I have an eyelash or a piece of cat fur or something in it. I don't think DS has EVER tried to touch his eye before. Add that to the fact that he wasn't really lobbying for contacts and it made sense to just give up. :rotfl2:

I found the bag of trading pins. It is a gallon size Ziploc that is about half full. Not sure if I will bring the whole bag or not. Last time we had big bags of trading pins TSA stopped us. That was embarrassing. TSA in Orlando knows all about pins, but going TO WDW the pins cause an uproar. They told us next time we need to take the pins out and put them in a bin. Right. Because stripping half naked and getting the laptop out of the case and all that crap just doesn't cause enough drama. And those pins are HEAVY! I might just portion out 3 little baggies of pins to carry in our backpacks. We didn't trade much at all last summer, so we don't need the volume of pins we used to bring.

I went to FOUR stores yesterday and didn't manage to buy ANYTHING for the trip. :sad2: Maybe I will have to try again today. ;)

Hi! I'm just reading this now, and I'm so excited for you!!! The Wishes Cruise and all your ADRs sound amazing!! We are going at the exact same time!! :yay::yay: Just wanted to say we went last year for our Disneymoon at this time, and it was HOT! Like 90! Also, we had very little rain, if any! I can't speak on crowds tooooo much because I was seriously sick in bed for most of the trip :sick: but the one day we made it MK in the afternoon, it was pretty crowded. Not packed by any means, but what you would expect at that time of day in the summer/spring. I think it's actually a great time!! OH! Star Wars Weekend, we went ONE year and it was super cool! SO many characters, the parade was awesome.

OK I'm sorry but I have to say that the quote below made me spit out tea. :rotfl::rotfl:

I may not do a cake after all. Kristine the Enabler convinced me to book a Wishes cruise.

I am signing on now, and wishing you the best trip ever! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

You are probably better off-those clips are so expensive! I honestly don't bother with mine too much-usually just wear a hat rather than sunglasses.

I didn't get contacts til college and even at that age it took a while to get used to putting them in.

You should leave any extra trading pins in your Owner's Locker then you won't have to bring them down again.:thumbsup2

Welcome, princessallegra! :) We usually go in August, so I am thinking June won't be any worse as far as crowds and heat. I like heat MUCH better than I like cold. Maybe we will bump into you guys!

Bernadette, I did leave the extra pins from the December trip in the OL, along with one of my lanyards. I will definitely leave the extras in there this time around, too. I really do think our pin trading days are drawing to a close. DS hates to wear his lanyard, DH hates to waste time stopping to look at every CM lanyard we pass, I hate to trade off authentic pins and get counterfeit junk in return. It was fun for awhile but I think now I will probably just buy a few special pins each trip and be done with it.

DS can't walk from one end of the grocery store to the other without complaining, but he can walk all over WDW and be JUST FINE. Go figure.

I just came back from shopping. Again. Out of 3 shirts and 2 pairs of shoes I am keeping one pair of shoes. Blah. I may have to go to WDW with stuff I already own. :scared1:

I saw some super cute stuff at Talbot's the other day but it was all stuff they JUST got in so it is all full price. The tricky thing about Talbot's is that they won't have my size left if I wait for them to mark stuff down. :rolleyes1

That would be cool!!! I'm with you, I like heat more than cold any day!! NY weather is STINKY!! So I relish Orlando, basically any time of year lol. We'll be there with our LGMH!! If you see a tattooed blond chick with a Snow White on her shoulder, and a guy that looks like her brother, that's me and DH! :rotfl::rotfl:(Everywhere we go people are like "Are you brother and sister?" It's awful and funny all at once). I can't wait to keep up with your reports while we count down to the Magic!!! :wizard:

:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

We'll keep an eye out for you! I'm blond, 40ish, average. DS is 14 but he looks younger, blond, very thin, and wears glasses (see above!) :rotfl2: and DH is mostly bald, average and will be carrying a camera. Or several. And I will probably be griping at him. ;) I think I have a LGMH on my backpack. DH may have one on his camera bag, BUT he prefers not to carry a bag. DS carries a sling bag with a lime green stripe on it. Well, he did last year. Who knows what he will do this year. Things cycle in and out of favor with him for NO REASON. If you click the link to our old trip report in the first post of this report there are a TON of pics. DH's preference is to take pics of buildings, signs, etc. but once in awhile I force him to take pics of me and DS.

I have a feeling Joe will be complaining at WDW. He was complaining he was getting tired standing dyeing eggs tonight. We went to the track but the field was in use. Joe didn't want to go to our town beach because he didn't want to get his new sneakers all sandy. So we drove to a beach in the next town that has a 3 mile long sidewalk along a stone wall-less than 2 miles from our house. In the 26 years I've lived here I've never gone to this beach on a warm sunny weekend day. It was jammed with hundreds/thousands of people. ALL sorts of people-elderly couples, families, young kids, motor cylcle groupies, ... I was wearing jeans & a t-shirt. Joe was wearing shorts and a long sleeve T. We were comfortable with temps in the 70s. Most of the folks were in bikinis. It was um...interesting. We ran into our next door neighbor-she stood out because she was fully dressed. Joe & I walked a while then sat down at a picnic table to review our color coded matrix of fun. In all we did 2 miles with little complaints but Joe did say he'd like to rest a lot in Disney.

"Resting at Disney" is an oxymoron. :rolleyes1

DS announced that he has spent $175 on pressed pennies. Remind me to never, ever add up what I think we have spent on pins. :scared1:

I think he has 2 pressed quarters. He has 5 or 6 of the books filled with pennies. Maybe more. I don't want to know. :rotfl:

I vaguely recall hearing about the dimes. I am sure he will have to make some.

We'll keep an eye out too!! I've NEVER once run into another DISer!!! Happy Easter by the way! Hope you guys have a lovely day today! :)

Wishing you a Happy Easter, too!

I had somebody CHASE me through MK one time, just to say hello. :rotfl: And it wasn't someone whose screen name I recognized, either. Just somebody who saw the LGMH.
We met a really nice lady in the queue for Soarin', we met a lady on a bus to AK, I am sure there are more.
We have met a TON of people at scheduled DIS meets during our trips. It is more spotty to just look for the bag tags.

Why is it that after all these trips I am STILL completely incapable of determining our food budget? Why is that? I am still absolutely positive that NONE of the dining plans will save us any money. So at least I am not trying to decide to add one or not. The answer is NOT, because there is simply NO WAY we would save money with ANY of them.

Quick Service would cost about $300 more than just buying the food outright, and we would have credits left over at the end. OK, that's out.

The DxDDP would cost us about $1000 more than my highest estimate. Yes, ONE THOUSAND dollars more than my highest food estimate. That is adding the daily cost of the plan to the OOP tips we would pay. Madness. :sad2: No matter what happens, I am POSITIVE we would not come out ahead this way.

I tried to sort out the regular plan but it was way too confusing. I used one day as kind of a test and we would lose money. Plus we would have to add the appetizers to a separate ticket, blah blah blah.

So I am left attempting to figure out HOW MUCH we are going to spend. I know what we spent last year, but we ate breakfast in the concierge lounge a bunch of mornings. I THINK adding the cost of those breakfasts to our total OOP cost last year is close, but maybe not! :headache:

Hmmm, so it sounds like you've done a lot of looking at menus and food prices, and done the number crunching...Does it make sense to just pay OOP for the meals, and not do a plan at all?
