So I was looking at the blockout days for next June. The old Southern California Annual Pass shows just 1 Wednesday and 1 Thursday blocked out (21st and 22nd.)

Does anyone know if there is some event or holiday or something those days or that weekend?

We are possibly going in June and that is the start of our trip. I am wondering if something is going on that would increase park attendance that week/weekend.

Disney has had that same block the last two years. As far as I know the why is still a mystery. I wish someone would come on with the answer though!

Weird. But maybe that means it's nothing for me to worry about, crowd-wise, then.

Well our experience 2 years ago on these blockout days was great. We always start our AP's by purchasing regular tix during a blocked period, then convert on our last day. We chose this week to start using our tix almost entirely because of the Wed/Thurs block. Crowd levels were great - medium-high, never anything crushing like a special event would bring. Never did figure out why the block.

Do you recall what waits were like for dark rides? 30 minutes? 45? More?

That is why I encouraged my mother that that was the week (or the following one) we needed to go. Blockouts of local passes often make the parks less crowded (especially in the evenings) than going before "everyone" is out of school. She wanted to go the first week of June since my daughter will already be out. I said that I didn't want to deal with Grad Parties and the crazy evenings as those about to be blocked soak up their last few visits before being blocked all summer. It was a hard battle, but in the end I won.

Hello,

I also have the opportunity to go to DL during that last week of June 2017. I was also curious about crowd levels etc

We have been planning on February but due to some stuff in our lives...June is looking more likely now. I am kind of dreading crowds. I already felt like February 2015 was more crowded than I would have liked. So I am worried June will suck to me. (Not to mention the heat...yuck.)

I had booked June as a back up a while back and the days we picked were June 21st-29th (with 5 park days in there.) I wanted to avoid grad nights since I read they are basically grad all-days now.

Our other option would be to push the trip to 2018 but I worry that is too close to Star Wars stuff maybe opening. Not sure though.

Plus we have to use our Southwest tickets before August 2017 or we'll be out $500.
