what's the best time out of June or July that you would make a ressie?
When in these months do people like to go to WDW? And for how many nts would you go?

1-- JUNE --4/5 nts 1 bed or 6/7 nts studio

2---July---4/5 nts 1 bed or 6/7 in studio

3---would you use a wkend like Thurs to Tues
or Sun to fri

We have often gone in June because I was a teacher. In fact, even though I retired 2 years ago, we have a trip booked June 12-21 that is fast approaching (taking grandaughter). Not supercrowded, but can be very hot, although obviously July will likely be hotter. We have had trips where there has been substantial rain, not just T-storms, as well. We usually hit the parks as early as possible, and head back for swimming in the early afternoon. Sometimes we return to the parks in the evening; sometimes not. Hope this is helpful.

I would book for June just because July is alot hotter. (It's all hot, just feels like it would get even hotter). We just got back a few days ago and it was already in the 90s...with high humidity. Boy it was hot.

Studio or 1BR is up to you, and how many people you have.

where will you be staying?

would probably go with June - but beware that the gay rights is the first week of June.

this year the South is in a terrible hot wave - it is hoped that by July the temperature will return to normal. but no guarantees.

Another teacher who has visited several times in June -- heading to Orlando by car next Thursday night. Weather will be oppressive in mid-afternoon, but often is pleasant in am and pm, particularly after the thunderstorm.
I concur with sssteele that crowds are not overwhelming, and the "take the nap" advice is wise. We plan on one big day for each park, with a couple of days in-between for resort/restaurant/partial park days where we just go to see characters and get photos. The early-start, leave for the afternoon, and return strategy also helps avoid long lines for attractions.
As for 1BR vs studio, it kind of depends how many are going as to which side of the days vs space argument you should choose. If your going with kids, I'd probably go with the 1BR -- although we're staying in a studio with 2 kids for 5 nights to save points to spend the next 6 in a TH. We'll see how well togetherness works for us...

Except for the week of the 4th of July last year, we have always booked June. I wanted the 4th again this year, but we're Dog sitting for 2 Grandpups, so we had to go with June again.

We are going the 3rd week of June this year, since DH is a teacher and we don't want kids pulled out of school for a Disney trip. Last year we also went the 3rd week in June. It was hot but not too crowded. Hopling for cooler and less crowded this year...:rotfl::wizard:

As for room, I would do the 1br so you have the washer dryer in the room.

Not really enough info in your question -- but:
Avoid weekends (more people/crowds and more points needed).
Stay as long as possible (to allow for afternoon breaks).
Only 1BR if you need the space based on # and size of people.
1st choice: June (usually the earlier the better, maybe not this year); 2nd: July (take ponchos and spray fans).

(I like a 1Br for the kitchen and laundry, but I wouldn't sacrifice staying longer just to have that, in the choice between 4/5 and 6/7). I use the kitchen to cut down on costs so that I can stay longer.

I agree, avoid the weekends, packed with locals especially teens.

If you are asking will you have trouble booking, nope, even at 7 months you can get most everything.

DVCers hate crowds and even worse hate heat and points are high in the summer. Most of the crowds will be those staying somewhere other than Disney.

We have been several times in July and the crowds don't seem to be that bad. We usually go about the 3rd week of July. It is WICKED hot.... so we usually head back to the resort after lunch and return in the evenings. Our best summer trip was in July of 2008... 14 days. We had such a great trip because we could really slow it down. The heat didn't seem to be that bad on that trip. LOL

If I were were you I would avoid the weekends as others suggested. :)
