June 8, 2010 WONDERful 5 Day Key West Cruise

I can't believe that at this time in 7 weeks I should be lying by the Goofy Pool with a Bahama Mama, and waiting for our stateroom to be ready

Bring it on !!

I'm new to the forum/discussion board thing and am having a hard time with the jargon.

I'd love to join the thread with others on the same cruise as us, but I'm not sure what the FE and Roll Call are. Can anyone enlighten me?

If you can't tell, this is the first time I've ever posted on a board and it will also be the first cruise for my family.

Good to meet you all...and am counting down the days 'til sandy beaches and warm sun.

HELLO AND WELCOME!!!:banana:

[I have heard there is a 5K around Castaway Cay to start the day. Has anyone done it or know about it?
/QUOTE]

I have been reading about this on the boards. The 5K is at 8:30 a.m. I have never done a 5K but would love to do it, and I can't think of a better atmosphere! Are you going to run? Any other takers?:woohoo:

The only running I do is to a BAR!! :rotfl:

Carole, I am planning on running the 5K. I think it would be a blast to say I've run around a Bahamian island.:goodvibes:beach:
I also plan to run to the Adult Beach for a frosty libation later in the day as well. :teleport:
:drinking1My motivation to run is fueled by my desire for chocolate and cocktails.:drinking1

I hope you all enjoy taking part in the Castaway Cay 5K. Sorry, but that's my idea of torture, so I will cheer you on from the beach (or bed if I'm up) ;)

Amen to that :rotfl2::rotfl::rotfl2:

:banana::banana: Yay, it's nearly the weekend !! :banana::banana:

We've got a fun weekend ahead of us, there's about 13 DISers heading to Wales for our friends 40th birthday. We're staying in two huge caravans, and we're having a Margaritaville evening tomorrow night. It sounds like it's going to be a great laugh, so I'll make sure that I take lots of photos :rotfl2:

Have a great weekend guys, whatever you're up to :)

Just one more thing. We have now been allocated a room, so Debbie I have sent you a PM with our stateroom # ready for the FE exchange :)

thanks! I am getting the list together and as soon as I get everyones's rm # I'll make the map...hmmmm, I think I'll need wine for this!! ;)

Debbie guess we need to get you our cabin number. Nothing planned here for the weekend a Margaritaville meeting sounds great fun. We will be checking in on the Port Canaveral web cam and thinking that will be us in a little over 6 weeks.

We are going to be working on door signs now that the fish extender is finished wondering if anyone knows where we can down load Disney font?? Mike

The keys ia the only port that has me a little concerned because of the short stay. What is everyone's plan? We are doing PALO brunch at 10 am so we will be nice and full for all those bars.;) I think we r just going to walk down Duval street, maybe to the end mark? Does anyone know how long a walk that is? I think as long as I get a key lime pie fix I can play the rest by ear :goodvibes

We were looking at it and I think it's about 1.5 miles from the port to the Southernmost Point marker. We're planning on getting trolley passes for the day, so we don't necessarily have to walk everywhere! We want to go down Duval, hit the Southernmost Point marker, and then maybe the Aquarium and the Pirate Museum. Since those are near the port, I think we'll do them last. :)

I also hear there's a CVS near the port that you can do any last-minute shopping at (water, soda, beer, sunscreen, etc.)

the trolley, is that the one u book through DCL? And can u gt on and off whenever?

The trolley you book on DCL you can not get on and off last we knew. you have to go to the trolley office in Key West to get the day passes which if i remember is only like a 5 minute walk from the ship this is what we plan to do too.
