June 8-15th 2008 No AAA rates?!

I have been reading the boards here for a few days. I finally called Disney this afternoon to check on our dates and 2 preferred rooms (adjoining) at Pop Century. I got a price for room only of $1656. I then asked for the AAA rate and she said none were available. I had her check for moderate and the deluxe resorts too- and nothing was available for our dates. She said everything was booked already. She even tried looking at June 7th or June 9th. Does this sound right?

I did put the 14 day hold on those 2 rooms. Should I call AAA directly right now for their rates? We aren't members yet but had planned on joining if the rate was good. Should I contact Dreams Unlimited? We are a family of 7- 2 adults and 5 kids ages 5, 9, 10, 13, and 15 so I am trying to keep the cost down. I do need to get park hopper tickets still and we are undecided about the dining plan.

Oh gosh I hope not!!!!

We are planning on being there June 5-14th and I am waiting on a quote from Dreams Unlimited now. Fingers crossed that what you were told was just a fluke.

I was really hoping someone could help me! Let me ask another question. I called Disney and asked for a AAA rate. If I call AAA directly will they have better luck at finding me discounted, adjoining rooms at Pop Century for June 8th to the 15th?

I just got a quote from DU and the agent was able to get a AAA rate for both a court yard bunk bed room & queen room!

Since you called Disney, call them back and speak to a different agent. I have read that some agents are not as helpful as others.

Try calling a AAA TA. I called Disney yesterday and was told that there were no AAA rates for our stay, May 4 - 10. AAA quoted me a savings of $100 yesterday afternoon. This was for a room only request from both.
