June 7th @ the Magic Kingdom?

We will be arriving late on June the 6th, traditionally our 1st full day we hit the MK, which will be the 7th. From previous sites I have found this to be gay day at the MK. To avoid having to explain certain things to my kids, should we reschedule MK for another day?

You should reschedule b/c it will be very, very crowded.

You probably wouldn't need to explain anything to your kids anyway. Unless your kids are adolescents, they wouldn't know it was Gay Day unless YOU told them.

Tar Heel is right on the money. You'll find several posts if you go back a few days in this form, on this very subject.

My opinion (I go every year during Gay Days on business), whether folks are gay, straight, or purple, the crowds at MK that Saturday are nuts. As far as things you "have to explain," you'll see a lot of red shirts, and there is some hand-holding, etc. I've never seen any overtly rude actions (which is more than I can say for some heterosexual couples I've seen in WDW). But you may find yourself having to explain to your kids why Splash Mountain isn't worth two hours in line.

I have been at WDW on the previous two trips during Gay Days. I've never gone to MK on that day because from what I understand the crowds are crazy. In anticipation of the MK be so crowded that day all parks had EE to encourage people to go to other parks. So yes absolutely reschedule..
