The Wares are going on the cruise

We are Kendra, Jay and Velveth (11). We are all looking forward to celebrating Velveth's adoption and birthday:banana:

Hi. Glad you found the thread, guess the link I sent you worked. We are looking foward to cruising with you guys. I hope you like DCL as much as we do.

Welcome!

Also, SO EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO START BOOKING PALO AND SHORE EXCURSIONS TONIGHT!!! Anyone else going to try and book tonight? :yay:

Hello again everyone! Been off of the boards for a while, getting back into the swing of college academics  We ARE still going on the cruise, and SO excited to see how many people are going on this cruise!!! Also, I realized I never properly introduced our cast of characters: I'm Kristin (will be 21 by the time we're cruising!), DB, Stephen (18), DM, Gretchen, and DD, Alan.

Having never been on a disney cruise before, we can't book until the 24th, but we're hoping to do Best of Skagway tour, either the dog sled summer camp or Mendenhall Glacier Adventure Hike in Juneau, and one of the ziplines in Ketchikan. We're also hoping to book Palo, we're thinking dinner, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what's still available. Is there a rotation dinner we absolutely shouldn't miss? Wouldn't want to book Palo for that evening!

Question about hotels - we are flying in a few days early to explore the Vancouver area before the cruise, and are trying to decide on a hotel right now. My dad's a Starwood rewards member, so we are going to do either a Sheraton or Westin for most of the nights, but we were wondering whether or not to switch to one of Disney's 'affiliated' hotels the night before the cruise. Are there any benefits to staying at one of those hotels? Also, I know everyone's been saying it's a lot cheaper to do your own transfers rather than Disney's, but where can I find information on Disney's transfers????? I can't seem to find anything about it on the website. :confused3 Thanks!

I don't think there really is any benefit to taying at one of the Disney "affiliated" hotels, unless you were using Disney transfers from the airport/hotel/port. Vancouver seems to be a pretty easy city to get around in, with lots of city transit options. I know quite a few people are staying at the Pan Pacific and I believe there is a Westin not too far away.

Good luck with all your bookings and excursions tonight!

A couple of my good friends have decided to join us for this cruise. They are Kim & Bob and their 2 boys Robert (14) & Dylan (12). I think she wants to join in on the Fish Extender. Has a cut-off date been set?

There is a Sheraton not too far from Canada Place on Burrard Street, its a very nice hotel, celebrities often stay there when they come here to film. Here is their website http://www.sheratonvancouver.com/ can't help with the transfers though sorry

Welcome!

I will be! :thumbsup2 I thinks it's quite funny that 75 days for my cruise, and 180 days for my wdw trip line up so Adr's get booked at the same time! Don't know what's still available but I'd like to do Tea at Palo and the Liarsville Gold Rush/Salmon Bake but that's all for us! :upsidedow just a nice relaxing vaca :woohoo:

Hello, the Eckelberrys are cruising to Alaska on the 7th. We just found out about all the FE fun and would like to join. My dd (14) is in sewing class and is excited about sewing one for us. We are on Spring break now so tomorrow we will go shopping for some fabric. There will be 3 of us cruising (my dh passed away 12 years ago but we had planned on taking our dd to Alaska when they were older, his family use to live there) me (Dena), dd (Ashley-14), and dd (Emily-13). We are super excited about our trip and now the FE fun on board. Looking forward to see you all:)

Thanks for the hotel and transfer tips!
Just booked the Best of Skagway tour and Palo later that evening! :banana:Might add other shore excursions later, but for now this is it.

Also, welcome Eckelberry family!

Welcome to the cruise!

I see you are from Kansas. We're neighbors! Right next door in Missouri.

Welcome! My dd will be glad to see that some more teenagers have signed up.

Happy 40th!!! :cake:party:

Will you be celebrating your actual birthday while on the cruise? I actually already turned 40 (a couple of weeks ago). But nobody said the party had to stop then!! ;)

My birthday is actually this month, Mar. 18 but it is to cold for an Alaskan cruise in March so we will go in June when school is out:)

Welcome! My dd will be glad to see that some more teenagers have signed up.

I see you are from TN, we lived there for 3 years in the Nashville area and loved it. I still have a lot of friend who live in TN and a dear cousin. My two dd are very shy but I hope they open up on the cruise.

So excited to hear about everyone wanting to do the FE! We've never done it either, but it sounds like so much fun!

Also, just booked the Mendenhall Glacier Adventure Hike at 8:45 am in Juneau and the Disney Exclusive Great Alaskan Lumberjack Enhanced Show at 4:30 pm in Ketchikan! (Also booked a Swedish Massage for 8 am day 6!!! Woo-hoo!!!)

Hope everyone is having success booking the shore excursions they want!

Finally, I realized I never said, but we booked connecting staterooms, so we will be in 6620 as well as 6622. :)

I am working on some FEE gifts and was wondering, are only the families that are listed on our group with the word Fish doing the exchange? Thanks:)
