We normally go in December, but due to things beyond our control this year we will have to go in June from the 7-15. I have not been during this time frame so I was wondering how are the crowds, and the weather too. I'm worried about the heat cause the kids might get cranky. We will be staying at the the Port Orleans Riverside! Any information you have for me would be great for this time of year down there. Thanks in advance.

We went last June 2-9 so your there a week or so later than we were. It will be hot but it was managable for the most part, the last 2 days were warmer then the rest of the week and we had to take more inside breaks. We also stayed at POR and liked it alot, very green and not over crowed at all IMO. The crowds were great when we followed our touring plans,at the end of the trip I went against the plans and went to a park they said to stay away from and it was CRAZY busy, I would look into that so you are not standing in line for big amounts of time. My kids did get alittle cranky with the heat but as soon as we went inside to cool off and get a cold drink they perked right up! We took a small cooler with water and juice into the parks(bottom of stoller) and had water fans to keep us cool in line. Get out early in AM and do what you can, take a mid-day break and go back when it starts to ccol off.

Just saying hi! My girls and I will be staying at Port Orleans Riverside June 8-12th!! We needed a few days of alone time before we met up with the rest of the family on Saturday in the vacation home! ;)

I've been in June before, and also spring break and I with a good touring plan I didn't find it that bad. It was hot, not crazy hot though, September was WAY hotter than June in my opinion!

Thats good to know. We where there in Sept of 2009. I found it managable. So, hopefully we will manage!!!! :woohoo:

We will be there from 6/6 - 6/18 and I'm holding out some secret hope for light crowds. Most of the northern schools are still in session and those that let out a bit earlier may be making up days due to the huge amount of snow days.

we were at wdw last year, june 7-14, and not to be a bummer, but the heat was unbearable. we live in NE alabama, so we're used to sweltering heat, but this was beyond belief. the humidity was 97% by 7:15 am each morning, and everyone we saw was just practically melted. the sun was relentless. aside from that, the crowds were very heavy, much more so than september. TSMM was a 40 minute wait within 10 minutes of park opening. my DH works in front of a 1,500 degree furnace each day, and even he said he was never going back to wdw in june.
when we got back home, we found out FL was in the midst of a heatwave, so perhaps weather will be milder this year. wishing you good weather for your trip :)

note: if anyone in your family is photosensitive, please make sure to put sunscreen on their legs when going to epcot. i am allergic to the sun, but normally don't need sunscreen on my legs. at epcot, the concrete has special elements added to it that make it reflect more sunlight, and it can cause what i call "epcot rash" on those of us who are photosensitive. the rash is very red and splotchy, and itches unlike anything you've ever experienced. i saw another young woman at american adventure who had it on her legs, and she looked so miserable. i realized by the end of the day that i had it too. :(

Must depend on the year because I was way cooler in June 07 in Disney than I was in September 08. I thought September felt like the surface of the sun and I was ready to melt, but June (although hot) wasn't insane like the beginning of Sept.

i absolutely believe it depends on the year. DH and i honeymooned at wdw in late june of 1992 and it wasn't nearly so hot. after returning home last year, we discovered FL was in the midst of an unusual heatwave. i hope the OP experiences much more moderate weather than we did. we did get to attend the last star wars weekend, so that made the trip much more enjoyable for DH, lol.

We went early June in 2007 and 2009, and we're going back June 8th-17th this year. We have nothing to compare it to, so we just make the best of it, and keep our mister fans handy at all times.

From About.com. Weather averages for June:
Average high temperature: 90.5
Average low temperature: 71.8
Average precipitation: 7.32
Average humidity (1pm): 57
Record high (1985): 100
Record low (1984): 53

I don't know when in December you go, so I can't compare crowds. It will be pretty crowded.

But, on the bright said, you will be going during Star Wars Weekends at DHS.
