I believe Gay Days ends on the 5th. I haven't ever been during the 2nd week of June, but thought I'd drop by to say that we arrive on the 7th. I'll be the group with two twenty-somethings that get mistaken for twins (my sister and I), two forty-somethings (my mom and her sister) and one sixty-something yelling for the rest of us to hurry it up (my g-ma who is waaaay to lively for her age ). Hopefully the crowds aren't too bad!
We were there last year, June 16-20 and 25-30. Crowds were much smaller than I expected, and we are committed off-season travelers, usually early Dec or Jan. I was really surprised- expected much larger crowds.
We are going 7-13 of june
And we were there at about the same time two yaers ago.
I am not a disney regular as an adult but the crowds seemed very manageable and we were able to do ecverything we wanted with a minimal wait
Could be higher crowds this year with all the 50th promotions and celebrations that will have just started/opened a month before in May. We are going the 7-14 and I hope they will me manageable...but if you take all the advice here and really plan your schedule, you'll be fine!!
And wear your lime green all us Dis-ers there at that time can recognize each other!
I also will be at Mk june 7-13 and another thread on the boars listed a website that predicts crowd levels by many factors such as room occupancy rates etc. Any how the predicted levels for that time period will be a rating of 7-8 out of a max. of 10. so it will be fairly crowded but with the right strategy we will all be o.k.
We were there last year from June 6th through the 13th. It was crowded but manageable. We were able to get in all the major stuff by noon. We never stayed at MK past 1 or 1:30.
The 2nd week in June (8-13th) is the National Gymnastic Meet at the Sports Complex at Disney. So you can add about 2,000 gymnasts plus their families to that list. I don't know how that will effect the crowds, but am anxious to find out. Count me in on being there that week.
We always go to the magic right after the gay days are over. As far as the crowds go, it is always going to be busy, but we never have any problems doing what we want to do. I would say we always take advantage of the fastpass system, and the late night extra hours. Last year we went a week later and it was busier then we we normally are there.
My family is going this week also. I'm not as worried about the crowds since we can control that by planning. I am bothered by the weather forecast though. T-Storms everyday?!?! My last trip was four years ago in freezing rain during the coldest Christmas in Florida history. I'm begining to think I'm cursed. But, I'm still looking forward to the trip, even a bad day at Disney is better than a good day at work!
