June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

Hi All,

As we've done in the past we're willing to post the FE list on our cabin door so folks can check at their leisure for any cabin changes. That way if folks get tied up the first day/night or decide to crash early after a busy travel day the list will be available. If you have a last minute cabin change you can make the change on the posted list and folks can check when they have time.

that sounds great. on our last 2 cruises, i've done all the FE organising and although i really enjoyed doing it, its nice to be able to just go along for the ride this time!

kate, out of curiosity, how much did they quote you to upgrade to a cat 9?

I have PM'd you, but it was a lot, because I would have had to have paid the DCL standard price without any of the available offers being applied. If I was going for a Cat 9 in the first place, I would have been better doing it through the agency and getting the commission off, but the offer was only on a GTY12.

Thanks Bob and Dale, why is everyone else so organised?!!! I have a few items put out to pack and a busy few weeks for end of term with my dd and work will be busy with the holiday rush for half term!

Jill, we will be there with you for the possible upgrade, if not, then we will be able to drown our sorrows together! by the way, I would be interested in your Disney things, although dd isn't into Princesses, she loves Simba, Bolt and Mickey. She is just going into size 6-7.

Printed out a couple of door magnets yesterday, to surprise dd, FE just waiting for my sister to get back from WDW with the iron ons.

Those of you in the UK, Home Bargains have cheap Magnetic Photo paper, 2 sheets 99p - Says Gloss on the pack, but it is in fact matt :confused3

just looked at their website and they're only up north :( oh well, ebay again!

i havent even started packing yet, probably wont do it til about 2 days before i like normally do! although i will end up getting my FE stuff organised way before anything else we're packing! i got the first bit of it in the post today, cant wait to get them all put together! glad i bought 20 of everything though, since i ordered it, its gone from 15 to 16 gifts!
 

i'm thinking of getting some more magnetic paper, and making some "moving the magic" magnets for our door. ebay here i come...... (again)

We will get into Barcelona from JFK mid-morning on the 4th and staying at Le Meridien for one night (we booked outside Disney for 1/2 the price). Will anybody else be there?
 
we're arriving at barcelona airport about 10am, havent booked our hotel yet..... really should get on that....


and only 23 days til we sail!!!!!!!!!!!
 
We will get into Barcelona from JFK mid-morning on the 4th and staying at Le Meridien for one night (we booked outside Disney for 1/2 the price). Will anybody else be there?

We are coming in on the 3rd in the morning - staying at the Novotel. Got a good rate as it wasn't open when we booked! Probably your usual standard Novotel, but it has a pool, which is lovely after a busy day walking Barcelona.

I so wish i'd booked either an earlier flight or was coming in on the 3rd. I may see how much it would cost to change flights!

As it is, we'll get to the hotel around 9.30pm on Friday. We're also at the Novotel, which has now had quite a few good reviews on Tripadvisor....thouse mostly in French!

Had totally forgotten that I needed to arrange a cat sitter so am now trying to get somebody trustworthy booked :scared1:

I am also guilty of complete overplanning as I have been looking at Eurotunnel etc in case we have *whispers so not to upset the volcano further!* ash problems. Somebody please tell me to chill out!

Have made a count down on the fridge for the kids (well, partly for the kids......) I am just so happy that we're getting our Disney fix this year :)

We use a home sitting service http://www.minders-keepers.co.uk/who stay in the home. With two dogs, a cat and a house that is fairly isolated, this is the best option for us. Could be worth looking at to see if they have someone locally.

I haven't even thought about the 'you know what', at the worst, we could drive down, we book ferries and eurotunnel all the time through work, so have a company account, which was so needed the last time, as we got priority because they had practically closed the booking system!

If it does all kick off again get in touch, we could put on a coach, collecting everyone on the way! Last time it all happened we had a VIP who needed to get to Spain urgently and we arranged it all last minute. I am pleased to say he made it!

Shhhhhhh about the you-know-what spewing!! Since there is not (as of yet) a tunnel between Europe and the US, some of us don't have that back up option!!

Seems like a lot of us are going to be at the Novotel! Count me and Disneymom7851 in there as well. We should all just rent a bus to carry us to the port.:rotfl:
 
how is everyone getting from the hotel to the port in the morning? i might have a look at the novotel if everyone else is staying there. pre cruise party!

ETA: is it the novotel barcelona city that you're all staying at? there seems to be more than one novotel

Actually, that isn't such a bad idea....... We will need to get there early though, got be out of there by 9.30 to see if an upgrade is possible. Others may find that a bit too early for them, but it would be sensible to merge the groups.

i was thinking that thats actually a really good idea too. i mean it'll probably cost us 20 euros ish each, so might as well see how much a minibus or something would be.

i had a quick google, and found a company that does minibus hire. their website says it should be 95 euros, but i've emailed them for a definate quote as we've got 15 people and will have a lot of luggage. i'll let you know when they get back to me.
