June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

Thanks for you replies re: the FE. Will definitely join in! It does sound like great fun. I think a list on the door sounds great as we're quite a late departure people may not be on the boat at the same time?

Kate, we're also flying budget. It's my first time using Easy Jet....bit nervous, but it should get us there, albeit with not a lot of luggage:rolleyes1 Told DH he needs to hire his Tux on board as to take one would use most of our allowance! We're also staying at the new Novotel, though just for one night. How are you getting home from Dover? We're going to hire a car but am struggling to find a good deal at the moment so if anyone has any UK car hire discount codes i'd be grateful!

Have a great weekend everyone :)

OK I just found this, Oh well atleast we have not sailed yet.

Good Morning Cruisers!

Windy and Snowing here today - just love spring in the Rockies!

Hi All,

On past cruises we've volunteered to host the FE list on our cabin door for the first day or two so that folks changing cabins can note the change and others can stop by and update their lists.

It works out well especially for those that may not be able to make a pre-departure meet.

We'd be happy to do that again on this cruise if folks would like.

Bob & Dale (& Gordy) :wave2:

Bob and Dale - this is a great idea - I know that folks take upgrades when available and then they are lost forever!:rotfl:

Count us in we booked last minute yesterday. Can't let Pappy sail without us! Hello Liz and Neil, all we needed was an excuse, haven't told kids we are going.
We arrive in Barcelona a few days before the cruise, not sure where we are staying. As for after, not sure. SIL lives in Canterbury, so may surprise her with a visit. Dover to London train is not bad, easy to get around in London after you learn the Underground.
Taking a Dis friend on his first ever cruise. He is already getting excited about going, and it has only been one day. Count us in for Fish Extenders. Hi :wave2:Dale and Bob, and Gordy.
Hello Scott and Lynn. I think GSF is a no go, because of limited luggage.
See you there,
Ken
DW Christie
DF Dave (1st cruise ever)

Great to see you on board! We are also traveling very light!

liz and I have booked at short notice got a deal from Virgin.. so see you all soon..Regards to Scot and Lynn:)

Liz and Neil - great that you could also join us!

Has anyone started a room list from this thread - I know there is one for the Baltic and maybe one for the B2B thread (but I am not sure - that one is buried somewhere here).

Have a great week cruisers!

We are flying Monarch, from Manchester. Did look at Easy Jet, only a few pounds in it, but Monarch was a slightly later flight. I have flown EJ loads and have never had a problem. Are you allowing yourself a day?

We will have a car collecting us at Dover. We have a travel company and as such a large fleet of cars (and coaches), hopefully someone will be despatched for us - however you never know, the boss always comes last if there is something else on!!!

Where do you live?

Kate

Man this one is getting close,

I wish the ferry from Gibralter to Africa was running, anyone found anything as such.

We're in Huddersfield and I think it will be easier for us to drive back than bother with transfering to London for either plane or train (though obviously a long way!) just need to find a car hire firm who doesn't charge the earth for one way rental.

Does anyone know, is this the 1st time DCL has been to Dover? And if so will there be a big welcomefor us at the dock?

To the best of my knowledge this is the first time DCL and the Magic will be in Dover. We have been on a couple or so, of first cruise iteneraries and noted the communities do commerate the arrivals in grand fashion, fireboats, bands, local cultural representative, and fireworks, the local folks come out to see the Mickey Boat. Hence we do enjoy being on these first cruises. :thumbsup2

There is a ferry, goes twice a week I believe, however, I wouldn't attempt it in one day!

Tangier (where the ferry docks), is not the easiest place in the world to navigate, the risks of cancellation of the ferry back, even if they do have one on the same day, is immense!

http://www.frs.es/ is the ferry company that does the trip.

You are a braver man than I!!

Kate

Good morning from Austin. Finally booked air. Posting today to get up to 10 so I can PM our room info. We'll be traveling with twice the charm of 7 year old princesses. We usually change rooms at port to upgrade our cabin. I noticed someone mention tux rental. I have noticed at the early seating the formal attire is more coat & tie. See you all soon.

When the Magic arrived in LA for the first time a few years ago, there was no hoopla. But when the first cruise left from LA it was like a parade of boats and planes with all kinds if hoopla.

When the Magic first sailed into Barcelona, the evening before we docked, Barcelona had some of the best fireworks we have ever seen. Lets hope for sailing in fireworks! Alex

this is for idream ofwdw...Hi we are in leeds we have arranged an alamo/national car one way rental between dover and leeds bradford airport ( it being the only place open on a sunday) for just over £100 for a golf size car,, if that helps.. I searched all over and it was the best deal I could get, If you keep the car until Monday it nearly doubles in price as it is classed as another day:confused3

OK...here is the Fish Extender List based on the PMs I have received so far. If I missed you or you wish to join, let me know!

NEW LIST IS ON PAGE 17

We will be in Stateroom # 6086

Of course you can! Most of us are late joiners! Welcome!

I'm Katie and will be sailing w/ my hubby Dwayne and daughter Blessing. We are stationed in Germany and couldn't beat this price for a cruise with military discounts!
