June 5,2010 Relocation Cruise

Ooh...I am in for the bartending class. And I walk (very, very briskly) about 3 miles (5K) everyday. So if anyone needs a walking buddy, just give me a shout. I have lost 22lbs in the last 6 months; I don't plan on putting any of it back on :-)

Carolyn and I are walkers, about a 14 minute/mile pace. We don't go every day. We also try to use the stairs as much as possible. Alex

i went out earlier to try and find some good fabric for a new FE, but didnt find anything even remotely exciting :( so i think i'll end up sticking to one of the 2 FEs i've already got. one was made for me by a fellow cruiser on my last meet thread, and the other is a hanging mickey organiser i got from ebay. not sure which one to use.....
then again, i only know where the mickey one is at the mo, not really sure where i put the other one, so that might end up making the decision for me!

I want to be part of he gym crowd but am still recovering from a motorcycle accident so I might have to join the wine of the night club. hehehe

Not to create any upset, but for those flying British Airways, their strike is back on. A few of the passengers who are cruising on my May 26th cruise have had their flights cancelled and are getting changed to earlier flights. One person has to get packed in 6 hours. They were not due to fly out until May 24th and they are leaving tonight. :scared1: So if you are flying BA, get packed early, in case they have to put you on an earlier flight. Better to be early, than miss the boat!

we were going to book BA flights from london to barcelona, but they couldnt come near to the price we paid with easyjet, and when i was booking them, there was already talk of the strike.
hope people dont have too many changes/problems because of the strike/volcano.....

Thanks for the heads up on the BA Strike.... made a quick visit to the BA site and it looks like our flight from LHR to CDG is a go. (At this time) If I have the flight info correct from memory.

A londoner I know informed me that BA management was taking a hard line and will seriously be making every effort to keep most flights in operation.

i've had a really productive day, but am now officially bored. where's everyone gone??! ;)

That's good. My BA flight was cancelled last Thursday and they rebooked me on Air France which turned out better because I don't have to change planes to get to Paris, our destination tomorrow. We were able to keep the same day, but I called them early and the pickings were slim. Three others on the May 26th cruise were notified today of cancellations on their transatlantic flights.
Now hoping the volcano stays quiet for our trip!!

Have a great time sinnika.

See you on board ready to 'move the magic'

aahhhh, childhood romances.... ;)

exactly 2 weeks til most of us will be in barcelona!

Morning Y'all (see I am getting the lingo!).

Sun is shining, dd slightly better, but covered in a rash from her back to her thighs, I am hoping it is something viral and know it is not chickenpox, but got a Drs. appointment for 12.30.

Good news, FE finished. I will try posting photo, if it works. Just need to bag up the gifts, sorry folks, looks like it will be ziplocks, but they always come in handy!

OH looked at wine package, but can't decide what to do, we will probably end up buying it on board, hopefully having tasted it first. We will also buy the odd bottle in Port. Gibralter is particularly good on prices!!!

Sorry, talking booze again!. :rotfl:

Have a good day. I am ironing shirts and folding nicely ready to pack, not even thought about my stuff, just everyone else first.... That's what mums do!!

Looks ace Kate! Still haven't made mine...plently of time though Lol!!!

Hope the Dr's appointmnet goes well, when mine have had a temp they often get a rash afterwards so hopefully it's just that. Neither of my children have had chickenpox yet, every time we get close to a holiday I think it's bound to appear-lets hope not this time!

All this talk of drink is making me want one! DH and I are not drinking until we get to Barcelona......apparently...though this sunny weather makes me want to open an ice cold beer!

I'm just wondeing how soon I can finish work as the garden is definitely calling-I need to get some sun on my white skin!! About 10mins should do it I reckon!:cool1:

Need to finalise FE gifts this weekend, unfortunatley there is nothing handmade or personalised in my gifts....I am feeling slightly inadequate!

Looks great Kate! I cheated and had my FE made by a woman on Ebay and it shipped yesterday so hopefully it will be here soon!

That's a really good FE. Oh dear, the pressure is on. I've got the basic pocket storage thingy but now have to decorate it. I was going to do it with Gaby during half term by visiting the local Disney shop. I was thinking for the FE gifts to give things that represent where we live. Would that be ok?

By the way, the school were cool about taking Gaby out of school for a week for a holiday. I thought they might make a fuss, but the Head Teacher said it was nice for a parent to ask permission for a change!

Packed two cases last night with clothes for everyone. Will have to go to a third case, because I haven't even started on my shoes yet. Plus I want to allow space for the many bottles of wine I will be purchasing. (That's if I don't drink it all onboard)

Have any of the UK crowd got their travel documents yet? I booked with Virgin Holidays and I still haven't received anything yet.:confused3

Getting "colour" on my skin is one thing I don't have to worry about:;)
But hubby could definitely do with some. I didn't know legs could look so blue white!!:scared1:
He'd kill me if he knew I wrote that:goodvibes

Rash is viral apparently - and in the last hour or two she has perked up considerably, which is comforting. Although she is probably contagious to children, he doesn't think that there is much risk to us thank goodness. He said it would probably last a couple of days.

I tried making something for the FE's, but they aren't that good, so not sure will bring them, but have something for the children.

My bits are shop bought, so I wouldn't worry about it.

I think making one with Gaby is a lovely idea. Charlotte didn't really have too much 'hands on' in put, but she decided who should be what character - Eeyore for me, wasn't he a manic depressive?!!:rotfl2:

I actually wanted silhouettes on the pockets, Mickey, Simba and Minnie with a real bow, but was overruled by a five year old!!

I don't know if you have a Home Bargains near you, but they have loads of Disney stickers (the bumpy ones), which would be good.

I would have liked to get some gifts of our area, all Hotpot and Beatles, but not had the time, but it is a good idea. I see there is loads or England stuff about at the moment for the football, so that may be a good one for you.

Good thing about coming back into Dover is that it doesn't matter about the luggage allowance home (if you live in the UK that is), so can buy lots of things!!!

Off to do lunch and then maybe cut the grass with my shorts on. I don't usually wear shorts on holiday (just cropped trousers), but they allow my legs to get brown! Thing is today we have the builders in, doing some work to a fireplace, so could be a bit embarassing getting my legs out

Has anyone put Gibraltar on notice that we will be provisioning there???? I think one might find some nice French, Spanish and other interesting wines there. That is my Plan,

Oh I will be with both the Drinkers and the work out groups...

Also your Cabin Steward will provide you with wine glasses if ya ask.
