Hi All!

It was nice to meet you guys. DD is still talking about the cruise. She wanted to see if we could talk the captain into taking the cruise out for 100 days for the price of 4. Do you think he'll bite? :rotfl2:

:guilty:
Not just because we are back and I have nothing to plan for like I have been doing for the last 10 months, but because I was so looking forward to meeting everyone and only managed to connect with 4cruisinKids (who found me by following the bubbles at the sail away party) and gabang (who I ended up sitting next to at dinner two nights in a row!). Who knows, maybe we did meet a few more of you and we just didn't know you were DISers. I admit that I didn't have my Jrsy Boy Mickey heads on me at all times.
In any case, we had an outstanding time both at WDW and on the Wonder. Can't wait to pick up the pictures and relive it all!

We got back yesterday. We stayed three nights at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. We had rain until Saturday and then we finally had a lot of sunshine. It was nice meeting some of you.

We are going on the Eastern May 13th cruise next year. Hope to see some of you there.

Just got back tonight after 4 days at Shades of Green. Finally sunshine yesterday, and I look like a lobster.

Sorry we all didn't get to meet too...bummer about the downpour at the sailaway. How about those 2 medical emergencies?? I hope they are OK.

I am totally HOOKED on a verandah room.

well off to unload the car, we are booked for next July on a double dip of CC.

Will write more tomorrow. Thank you SO MUCH Christine aka Buckeye 01 for hunting me down to give me the pirate stuff for my son.

Beth

I was wondering who put green little foam stars on our doors? They are very cute.

Out of 6 cruises with DCL this one was the first cruise I had experienced there being a medical emergency stop. It was very interesting the last one I could see (from our room) someone being put onto the boat that came out to meet us. I felt so bad for those people that had emergencies.

We finally got sunshine on Saturday (the 11th) at Vero Beach and well as you can guess some of my familly members got burned. I had to pile on the 30 sunblock. Amazing we go on a cruise and don't get hardly any sun but one day at Vero Beach and there you have it. :-)

I would like to know the details also of the emergencies... I hope they are all ok now.

To elaborate on the suprise on our doors.....

We had put up on our stateroom doors a 8 x 11 magnet that had a picture of where we were from, our family name and our DIS name. We were on Deck 7, staterooms 7008, 7010, and 7012.

Then we noticed that at some point in time on our three stateroom doors there were soft green foam stars with a square cut out in the center for maybe a small picture can go. They had magnets on the back and a clear stone glued to the front. They just appeared there and no one in my family had done it, so we figured it had to be a DISer.

Does anyone know who could have done it? I would like to thank the individual.

The green stars came from Bethipooh! Thanks for our's Beth. It was very nice meeting you.

We were actually in the embarkation line right behind Beth & her family but did not realize who each other were until the sailaway party! How cool is that. And to top that, we got right behind her for the first picture stop on Castaway Cay!

JrsyBoy, I was also disappointed not to meet everyone during the cruise.

I would love for everyone to post a picture, you never know, we may have bumped into each other without knowing it! (I actually don't know how to do this, but will try & figure it out)

My DD15 & I were picked to play "Walk the Plank" and actually won! That was exciting.

My DH & I were on the deck 4 lounge chairs reading when we stopped to unload the 2nd medical emergency. I have pictures of the process. How scarry would it be, lying on a stretcher passed from one boat to another. Yikes!

We can each set up a member gallery here:
http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/index.php
or set up one gallery for all of us to post in. We decided to use disposable cameras this trip rather than risk anything happening to our digital. I will get to see our pictures tonight, but will have to scan any that we like. Plus we can scan the ones we bought at Shutters.

Thank Bethipooh for the green stars! :-)

I will post a couple of pictures as well. I just need instructions on how to. :-)

Got back Sunday afternoon after a 3 night stay at Vero Beach with family. Had a great time on cruise, but only met Bethipooh & family at Radisson & saw them a few times on the ship. Didn't make it up to deck 10 for sailaway. We were going to but the RAIN happened! What a bummer!
Thanks Bethipooh for the green foam magnets, what a nice surprise on our door!
It's hard this week to get back to work after a 10 day vacation! Really tired.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures!

Hi everyone,

well reality has set in, I spent yesterday doing laundy and unpacking, and actually had to cook dinner last night, the horror.

I had such a good time meeting everyone that we did. I am guilty of the green foam stars, just something I did to pass the time before we left.

We got to meet Bill and Barbara at the Radisson ahead of time, they actually stopped me in the parking lot and shocked me by knowing who I was. Of course little did I know they had met my DH Rick ahead of time. I didn't quite have the nerve to go up to everyone on the ship who was wearing green and ask them if they were a Dis'er. Of course we kept running into Wild4WDW everywhere, how did the picture at castaway turn out? And Buckeye1 found us to give us our pirate items. Thank you again, they were a huge hit with Michael.

Rick took a few pictures from our verandah of the 2nd medical emergency transfer. What a terrifying process. I hope both families are ok and home safe and sound.

We stayed at Shades of Green for 4 days after the cruise, what a nice resort. And the parks were surprising empty. Of course the rain may have had something to do with that. Of course I am still burnt from the one day of sun we had.

We are booked on next years July 22 "special" western with 2 stops at CC.

I hope everyone has made it home safe and sound by now. We have pictures to post as well, just have to have Rick download them from the camera.

What happened to the families? Were they just sick? We said a prayer for them not knowning what had gone on. I too hope they are okay.

It was a great cruise!!

I figured out how to upload a few photos. You can go to DIS Home, then Photos, then DIS Community Photos, then do a search for Wild4WDW

We had a great time on the trip!

We returned on Monday. The cruise was great and eventful. After talking with my sister, Cruisindragons, we would definatley do it again but only a 7 day. It seems like we just got everything figured out and we had to get off the boat.

Our favorite part was Castaway Cay. We sent the guys off early to the end of the beach and to claim hamocks. It was wonderful. Note to self, when snorkling put suntan lotion on your back not your front. A little sun burn but not enough to ruin the trip.

The eventful part of our trip was at Tritons. My children have a peanut allergy and my husband is deadly allergic to potatoes. Our head server said he would personally check with the chef every night to make sure they were safe. On pirate night my husband ordered the gumbo. The head server came back and said it was okay. Two bites in my husband questioned if that was pineapple in his gumbo. After my mom and brother in law both confirmed it was potatoes. We were able to get benedryl in him right away and luckily did not have to use his epi pen. If he would have actualy ate one it could have been more serious. At first the head server denied that this could have happened. Then we showed the head server. He offered to pay for our alcohol that night but only my sister and her husband were drinking. They sent strawberries to our room. The next morning they gave our table mamossas but we had already left the table. I'm glad they tried to make up for it but would have been nice if the extras my husband would have benefitted from since he felt ill the next day. What we would have really liked was an apoligy admitting they were wrong and tell us what happened. They acted like tinker bell came down and magically put the potatoes in our tables gumbo.

This will not keep us from going on another DCL vacation, our children loved it. We just won't trust the kitchen staff with our food choices. I'm not sure what will do.

There was one family I did not find to give pirate stuff to. My sister and I walked the decks in the rain on the going away party and then walked the hallways the next morning. Sorry I couldn't find that last person. The rain really dampened us all getting together.

Talk with you all later

Well, I didn't recognize ya from your pictures, so I guess the ship was big enough that we didn't see everyone.
Hoping to get our pictures up this weekend or early next week. We didn't go digital, so it will take a little bit longer.

If I'm not mistake our cruise director was Jacqui from Asheville NC, on the other side of the state from me.

Danita, explain Walk the Plank to me, I never heard of that game. Congrats on your win. Did you get something good? Loved your pictures. I am still waiting for Dh to download ours so I can print them out.

Cruise Director was Jackie (sp??) from North Carolina.

Bethipooh - Walk the Plank was in Studio Sea on Pirate Night, I think about 7:30. There were 4 sets of contestants, they asked multiple choice questions about the ship, had a few silly challenges (using a fishing pole with a magnet at the end to catch fish, and having the kids throw blow up rings onto the parents outstretched hands). During the final segment, the parents had to step onto a vinyl runner that looked like a ship's plank - the kids were asked questions and if they got it wrong the parent had to take a step out towards the end of their "plank". We had a lot of fun!!!
The picture you took of my family in front of the ship at Castaway Cay was great! It actually looked just as good as the one Shutter's took, could have saved myself some money. Thanks for being so thoughtful!

Buckeye - I'm so glad your husband was still careful about what he was eating, I guess when your highly allergic to something you have to always be on guard. The gumbo & crab cake that was served during Pirate Night was actually my favorite foods during the cruise.

I got a few of our pictures uploaded this morning, if anyone is interested. If we aren't still showing up under recent photos on Disney Cruise section, do a search for Jrsy Boy.
