Just seeing if anyone has signed up for the land and sea vacation on June 3!

For land and sea, does that mean land first and then sea? We're sailing on the June 3 Wonder for 4 days. Hope we won't be the only ones! My kids will really be excited when we tell them (sometime during the holidays).

I hope you have a great time on your four day cruise. Kriso, the first poster, is my daughter and our family, my brothers family, and my parents (11 of us altogether) will be taking the 4 day land (June 3) then the 3 day cruise on the Wonder (June 7). This will be our second cruise. We took the 7 day Western in February 2005 and Loved every minute of it! We are very excited and can not wait for June!

GAScrapper you won't be alone, we booked the 4 night june 3rd this week and are waiting to tell our kids also. This is our second time around with DCL and we love it.

So you are going to WDW June 2 - June 7 and Cruisin June 7 - June 10 ? Finally another fellow cruiser!! Glad to hear from you!! We are all very excited! My older kids DD 18 and DS 16 were just at WDW last year at a school music competition over spring break but my youngest DS 10 has not been since he was 3. And the cruise--we can't wait for that either but I have a feeling it will be way tooo short! But we will enjoy EVERY single minute! Especially after this horrible winter! Hopefully we will hear from more cruisers! Patti

Hi Patti
Yes we are doing WDW first and the cruise on the 7th, I agree 3 days is too short. This will be our 3rd 3 day cruise (1998 and 1999) We can't give up WDW long enough to take a longer cruise, I'll keep hoping though. I've been looking for other families traveling when we are and I'd about given up when I found your post back in the archives ;) This will be DS's first cruise and he is very excited as well

Where at WDW are you staying? We are staying at the Beach Club, a first for us.

Thanks for replying! :wizard:

We will be staying in Port New Orleans French Quarter. How old is your DS? On our first cruise 2 yrs ago my DS was 8, my niece was 4, and my nephew was 3. They all loved it and had no problems at all ! Matter of fact I had to almost drag my son off the ship as he did not want to go home!!! I plan to take my DD, her friend, and both my DSs snorkeling in Nassau. Then a walk to Hard Rock Cafe. Other than that I probably will avoid the straw market. How about you? Are you planning to get off the ship or stay onboard and enjoy The Wonder? Looks like there will be a lot of room and you won't be fighting for a pool chair huh? Where is everyone ? There has to be more Disers on our cruise don't you think? Oh well. Patti

Patti
DS just turned 7 (going on 17 ;) ) I think he will love the cruise, he's a pretty go with the flow kinda guy, he rode on an airplane with layovers for 27 hours and never shed a tear (he was 4).
We don't have any excursions planned for Nassau, we will probably step off the ship just so DS can say he was there and maybe pick up a tshirt. I had thought about picked up Dnephew a Hard Rock shirt. Other than that we will enjoy the ship. We've never been huge fans of the Bahamas.
We've never been on the Wonder before our previous trips were on the Magic.
I agree looks like we may have the whole ship to ourselves :cool1: Maybe with this post being updated someone else will post too.

Well Kim noone else yet? hmmm... think we need to start a new thread with just June 7, 2007 Wonder? I know there has to be more .. we were told the ship was full. They divided our family up at dinner seatings. We are on a waiting list for early seating (my family and my parents). We thought we would let my brothers family go early since their children are the youngest. Hopefully it will work out and we can all eat together as we are celebrating my dad's retirement, my daughter and her friend's graduation from high school on this cruise! Boy I am so ready! This winter has been brutal with the snow and freezing rain and cold temperatures. How about your weather? I am going to be so ready .. I'm taking a little vacation to get ready for my daughters graduation May 27. Then work until we leave on June 3. I probably should just take the time off after her graduation to unwind before the trip!! Patti

The ship is full?? Darn and I thought we would have the ship to ourselves:lmao: Maybe starting a new thread would help but you would think by now if there were lots of Disers going that date that someone else would have started a thread too. I searched and didn't see any unless I overlooked it.
Surely you can get dinner seating together! Especially with celebrations.
I've heard to check with guest services on check in and usually they can accomodate. At least thats what I've read on the DIS boards :thumbsup2
Sounds like you will deserve your vacation by the time it gets here. I remember graduation time as being hectic, invitations, pictures, rehearsals etc. Hopefully you will get a relaxing vacation, but usually I need a vacation from my vacation ;) BTW don't forget to pack :rolleyes1 have you started you list yet?
The weather here is probably really warm compared to you, we got one snowfall this year about 1 inch and I was outside playing in it at 6am with DS before I left for work because I knew it would be gone by 10am (and it was)
The temps here was 60 today, we got alot of bad storms yesterday though, the tornado spawning kinds. I remember that cold though lived in South Bend for about 10 years when I was a kid....no thanks!!! I like a little snow other than that sun and hot are the best.

Thanks for the advice on the dining ! We'll definetly do that if our dining hasn't been changed before the cruise. Wow 60 degrees!!! Thats a heat wave here! We are still getting winds and flurries But it is supposed to get up to 50:goodvibes in the next few days! As far as a list... I pretty much started that a day after we booked our trip (in August). Nooo, I'm not excited! I even started picking up a few littles things. I just can't help it. I think I'm worse than my kids! How about you do you make a list or do you wing it? I start packing a good 2 weeks ahead and then add (from my list) but that would be my biggest nightmare forgetting to pack or forgetting something important .. like my camera and with everything going on in my home right before this trip..I can see it happening! I'll definetly be triple checkin the list! Well still seems like we're the only ones, huh?!

Still just us huh?
Having flurries? Its windy here but the sun was shining today, just think less than 3 months and :beach: this is you! I'm like you I started my packing list almost a year ago and I keep a notebook full of useful (or useless LOL) facts of things I want to remember. I've also started buying things. My problem is I've not kept them together so who knows what I will remember when the time comes. We forgot the cellphone charger one time. BIG pain, luckily we had driven and had the car charger but we've have to make the hike to the car and remember to go back to get it. So now the items I've forgotten in the past are at the top of the next vacations list.
I was reading on someone trip thread the other of a couple getting of the ship the last day in their pajamas, apparently they forgot to leave out clothes when they put their suitcases outside their door for the night. :scratchin Note to self: don't forget to leave out a change of clothes for the trip home :rotfl2:
I've been known in the past to set the suitcase up in the spare bedroom 2 months before the trip so I have something to throw things in as I think of them or run across them. BUT the past 3 years (today :thumbsup2 ) since DS arrived I don't have a spare room so I'll have to wing it. I was thinking today camera charger that seems like something I would forget so I quickly put it on the list :coffee:

What restaurants does your family like to eat at while at WDW? TS or CS?
We typically like TS but I think this year we will use them more equally to have extra cruise souvenir money.

On our last trip we ate lunch at CS or grabbed snacks and then ate supper at TS. This trip we are doing mainly snacks and CS also to save money for souvenirs. We are doing a character breakfast late morning for brunch. I have been doing a lot of research on this thru the boards, my Passporter books, another book, and from my older kids ideas after their trip to WDW last year. I also keep a notebook from tips from the boards and my Passporter books. I'm sure that I have many of the same useless tips that you mentioned probably tons of them ! I'm getting anxious to get my suitcase out and its still too early darn it. I had to get a new one bc mine got broke last year on vacation. Dragging that thing around kinda got me in the mood !

Yeah I've been scoping out menus and prices on Deb Wills site lately.
We like character breakfasts this trip I think we are doing Chef Mickeys and Cape Mays. It's getting closer :beach:
Just stand the suitcase up in the corner and throw things in it through the top. Hey I just might have to try that myself.

What a week! But today I booked our excursions for Nassau! Woo Hoo! It's feeling real and getting closer! I'm going to call them because it wouldn't let me book the parasailing at CC since its been canceled because of the loss of the vendor. The boards have said to go ahead and book it but its not available to do this online. Chef Mickey is the character breakfast we are doing as well. We enjoyed that one when we went several tears back and the food was very good. The weather has finally started to warm up high 40s enough to make things soggy and muddy but warmer so I shouldn't complain! I'm just ready for SUMMER ! Guess we are still the only ones geeee !

Still nobody but us, huh?
The weather has been really nice here, It's got thinking about things for the trip.
Some of our favorites to eat are Chef Mickey's breakfast, Beaches and Cream and Ghiradelli's. Its getting closer and closer! I can't wait

Yum! Ghiradellis a fave of ours too from last trip. Its a place we plan to stop this time around also! Look online, sometimes there is coupons. We are also going to Earl of Sandwich-- looks very good and the price is right! The weaather has been getting nicer here as well. My list is starting to get a lil longer. Boy I want to get that suitcase out but still have to get through 1 more month I guess-- darn it. Then theres prom and the graduation party and the planning. I guess I have EXTRA celebrating to do on the cruise!
