June 3, 2006 - Disney Magic Western Carribean

I have not had time to check thie thread in a while. Grad school, working, two kids and a family have kept me very busy. I'm looking forward to our cruise next summer. I need a break! We get out of school a couple of days before we go. Our son (6) is very excited. Our daughter (2) has no clue. Anyone else with small kids?

Have a great evening,
Shawna

I totally understand what you mean about needing a break. Between my job (teaching) my oldest DD begining her high school teaching intership program, my youngest DDs dance schedule, my DH's work schedule and all his traveling I feel like I never have a moment to breathe.

Your kiddos sound like they are at the perfect age for you to really enjoy the cruise. They(and you) are so lucky to be able to take them when they are so young.

My girls will be 17 and 13 when we cruise.

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!! I hope everyone has safe and happy Holidays.
We are getting closer to our sail date. Everyone in my household is very excited :Pinkbounc  :Pinkbounc

Merry Christmas... maybe if we close our eyes we can pretend we are celebrating Christmas on the MAGIC! ;)

Happy New Year Everyone! I hope everybody is getting recovered from the holiday's and can start thinking about our cruise :Pinkbounc 154 Days away and we will all be heading for Orlando :cheer2: My daughters are so excited they are ready to start packing now :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I think it will be a loooong 154 days for me.

Now that Chirstmas is over, I can start thinking about the cruise. By the time we get on the ship, most of my grad work will be done, so I can relax. I have my DMIL looking for dresses for my daughter and my DM looking for cloths for herself. I'm currently doing weight watchers, so I want to wait a little longer before I start dress shopping for me. I printed a packing list earlier today, DH and I add an item to every grocery list, so that we do not have to make a large run for stuff close to the trip time. I place everything in a large box in the bottom of my closet. It worked so well when we went in 2004, I decided to start it again. What is everyone doing the night before the cruise? We are thinking of going to Chef Mickey for dinner with our whole party (9 on us)- we will not be going to the parks, but I thought Downtown DIsney and a character meal would be fun.
Only 6 more months!

What a great idea for shopping. My daughters bought a bunch of summer clothes at the end of the season and they actually have already put them in the suitcase. :rotfl: They can't wait. We are staying at the Double Tree in CoCo Beach and thinking we might go to the Space Center the day before. My girls will be so excited they won't care what we do.

I talked with my mom tonight- she is just as excited as the rest of us. She wants to go to Downtown Disney right now. We wil wait and see as the date gets closer. My son was so funny at dinner tongiht- He said since it was 2006 why are we not already on the big disney boat? When I told him he had to wait a little while longer he got mad because I said we where goin in 2006. To be that young again. Have a great week!

Happy New Year everyone! :cool1: Although I love the snow, I'll be glad to see it go cause then we'll be closer to leaving for our cruise!! Until then we'll be out skiing! :cold:

Yesterday my DH said to our oldest DD "do you know what day today is"? She answered "yeah Dad  it's New Years Day". His response.. "nope.. today is the day our mind shifts from the holidays to VACATION!!"

We can't wait.

We are spending two night prior to the cruise at the Radisson.. and going to Kennedy the day before. We aren't doing the parks this trip.. I am going to miss them. After the cruise we are going onto Vero for 5 more nights.

Started on my treadmill this morning. I put on some good summery type music. Hope it keeps me motivated. I don't wanna scare people too much in my swimsuit. ;)

Hello everyone! My family will be on the June 3 Western. It will be me (30) :earsgirl: , DH (29) :earsboy: , DD (7) princess: and DD (5) princess: . This will be our first cruise. I used the DIS to plan our WDW vacation last year. I am hoping all of you will be just as helpful with the cruise. I am soo excited! We all need a break after the crazy year we have had around here!

I look forward to chatting with all of you as the months go by and hopefully meeting you on June 3!

Hey Merryweather.. welcome to the group. :goodvibes

To all new posters, Welcome. I have been out of the loop for a couple of months now. Feels good to be back. I am looking forward to talking with all of you as the build up begins. :bounce:

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and are having a great New Year.

We will be staying at the Radisson and will swim in the afternoon and then stress about our bags the rest of the night.

How about you?? :scratchin

We were planning on staying at the Double Tree and maybe going to the space center. I think now that we will be going to Port Orleans and going to the Magic Kingdom and hopefully Downtown Disney. I can't imagine being so close and not going to MK.

We are arriving the day we leave. Our flight arrives in Orlando at 12:30. This scares me a little, but our agent assures us that we will arrive in time.
So I will be home, going crazy with anxiety and excitement!

So what is everyone doing in preparation for the trip? Have you started buying special necessities? Anyone on a diet to make room for cruise food?

Just Wondering.......

Merryweather

merryweather,

My daughters want to start packing. :rotfl2: Diet before the cruise that is an everyday diagnosis in our house :rotfl: We have been getting ready for a while. Bought some new summer clothes at the end of season and when we go shopping we add an item that we will need so it won't be such a shock when it is time to go. We can't wait !!! What about you?
