Hi all! This is getting SO exciting - I'm loving reading all your tales of pre-packing packing ... I'm doing the same thing, I have piles of stuff sitting here and there.
Since we're spending a few days at OKW before getting on the ship, I need to separate things that we'll use there vs. what we can leave packed until the cruise.
I have all my FE material and stuff - now this weekend I need to try to put it together - YIKES! I'm definitely not a seamstress and not too crafty, so this will be an adventure. DD13 is going to help me - we found some materials and logos that relate to each of us - Mickey; Penn State; performing arts; Jersey shore - so we're going to try to put the whole thing together. (We'll probably end up hanging a shopping bag from the fish - heh heh - this could be a disaster!! I really like the bag idea!)
Hey, ZDARA1999, hopefully you got my PM where I goofed up our info. Must have been multi-tasking that day!
We're down to within a month - yay! - it's gonna be here before you know it. We're carving out some time this weekend to do some cruise shopping - DS's pants for dining room, stuff like that. If nothing else, a cruise is a great excuse to SHOP!!
Hey - my DH reminded me of a tip that I'll share with you all. When we've cruised in the past, we purchased inflatable tubes (from a cheap place like
WalMart) for use at
Castaway Cay. The larger tubes, not little kiddie ones. They don't take up any room in suitcases, are cheaper than renting them at CC, and avoids the hassle of picking them up when getting to CC. We've been to CC three times in July and it has always been scorching hot - floating in the water there has been heaven. After using the tubes, we just leave them rather than trying to get them home after they have been inflated and wet and sandy.
Just thought I'd share that plan since it has worked well for us in the past. One of my fondest memories from our last cruise was floating around in the water at CC - on a couple of WalMart tubes - chatting with a lady that I met right here!!
