Cheri where are you!

OK something trip related as airfares have yet to drop!

I am starting to think along the lines of Air France to Paris then Barcelona & Back to the USA!

Amex has coupons for buy 1 get 1 free on Air France 16,000 rewards points each. Not bad, now if only the fares would drop I would pull the trigger! :badpc:

What do you think BBM?

Hmmm... what kind of fare do you have to buy on Air France? I think I've got the 16,000 rewards points. Is it coach? Business class? If you can get a decent rate, I'm with you.

Only other question, can you get your flight arranged and then cash in your Amex points? I'd hate to blow 16,000 points on a buy one-get one ticket that I couldn't book afterward.

Buy one get one free is for coach at the 16,000 leval they do have a similar reward for business class however it is either 40,000 or 60,000 points and after talking to Air France the rate was $5,0000 for one Business Class ticket to use the reward, however Air France has it's own deal or sale on Business class for $3,000 so in essence you only save $1,000. Remember I am a party of 6! :grouphug: So I have to buy 3 tickets! I am going coach & lifting the arm rests!

No, you have to cash in Amex and they will give you a electronic # then you call Air France & arrange the flights. You can do this electronically so that there is no lead time between cashing & booking, I would call the special # first & check availability with Air France for what you want to do & dates before cashing in for the AMEX voucher. :surfweb:

Currently the trip from Boston to Paris (stopping for DLP)then Paris to Barcelona then back to Boston after the cruise is quoted at about $1,800 per ticket. Pretty Pricey but worth the premium for the flight back without having to switch airlines & pick up & re check baggage for the trip home! (Time is Money!)

I have talked to both and have just been waiting for a fare reduction hopefully by January! :hourglass

I'm gonna check and see what Air France has from the Nashville area. With the right price it sure would be worth it.

Keep me posted Sir Rjayl!

I can now drag this thread off the second page 'cause I GOT FLIGHTS. $1263 rt on US Airways.

Good for you! Speaking of US Air, when I did a search on Air France rates, US Air came up as the carrier. I'm assuming they have a partnership. Now I need to see if you can use one of the Amex two for one Air France certificates if you're actually flying US Air.

I've just been catching up on the last ten pages, biting my quivering lower lip - wanting to cry and trying not to be too envious!!!

BOO HOO HOO....I wish I was going!

I'm sticking to this thread. No matter what. Dog-gon-it!

Hey guys

I revisited the Amex site over the weekend and the Air France 16,000 point companion coach tickets cost $149, free companion coach tickets are 45,000 points and the free Business class companion tickets are 90,000 points.

Sorry for the mixed up info!

As I have called to check availability & pricing,I am also starting to believe that the pricing of the seating might be higher when you go to use the certificates!

Looks like the $149 would still be worth it. Keep us posted on whatever you find.

RJAYL, as I posted the other day, I did a search for Nashville to Barcelona and requested Air France. Instead, it came up as US Air. I called US Air today to see if they accepted the companion pass from Air France and they don't.

Go directly to the Air France Web Site airfrance.com & try there. :thumbsup2

I am getting a little nervous about the airfare. I check everyday and the fares seem to be going up as some of the cheaper rates are selling out. I also called Disney to see if I could reserve air with them (just in case) and they told be they are sold out. I don't know how long I should hold off. :hourglass

I'm no expert, but as long as I get mine before or AROUND January I'll be content. I still think rates will get a bit cheaper and if they DO go up, it won't be by much. It is a LONG time until June, and the airlines have a LOT of seats to fill up.

Just my two cents worth tho.

Well, since we DO have an invitation to visit "The ROY" in June, heres a pic from the party we had there during our September 2nd cruise.

For those of us planning stops someplace in europe (IE Paris) before or after the cruise.

Try pricing Airfare as open Jaws IE Boston to Paris then Barcelona to Boston.

I am finding it alot less expensive this way!

For Example Air France with the Paris connector to Barcelona 5 days after arrival in Paris $2,0000 PP, without the Paris connector $1,250 PP! :thumbsup2

I can easily book a one way or round trip on another airline for $100 to $200 PP!

For me I am just looking for the cheapest ticket to Barcelona, sometimes you get a better fare on round trip then oneway, and i can discard trip back to Paris!

I've been getting a similar price by going Nashville to Barcelona, the Paris to Nashville. You can get a pretty cheap round trip ticket from Barcelona to Paris, take the first leg and forget about the return.

I saw a Cheri Post on another Thread (She Lives) :happytv:

On a down note I just got of the phone with Air France The promotion I wanted to use is only valid untill June 30. I was advised to call back at the end of October then every 15 days after untill July becomes available. :sad1:

Cheri's been sighted over on Yahoo raising heck about the passport rule extension. (Of course this sighting could be like Bigfoot, and Cheri might be a figment of our imagination....)

Have you guys been looking at the Passporter website. The owners are, as we speak, on a RCCL Med Cruise that is, as close as they can tell, similar to Disney's. They will be posting (and selling) info on the ports, etc.

If it is like the past, you can buy their notes online for about $5. Might be worth it to get some money saving tips. I want to work for them staking out hotels, cruises, tours..... I guess it would "ruin" a vacation, though! :)

We're getting closer.... we are still looking for flights from London Heathrow to Barcelona..... waiting until we get a little closer, hoping for a better deal.....

Mickeymad, No I did not get any free tickets. . When did Disney start giving things away for free?

Just curious, has anyone ever purchased airline tickets from Ebay or Sky Auction?
