June 27, 2007 10 Night - The Rodney Dangerfield of Med Cruises

Get back to you soon on that one. There are lot's but we always stay at the Sheraton Park Tower. It's right down the street from Harrod's and very close to a tube station (but what isn't in London). I think it is considered Kensington - very nice part of town.

Gotta go - spending the day with The Mouse , neener-neener :lmao: (I know, how third-grade! But, I do so love living an hour from the Happiest Place on Earth.)

tragedy!

got out of the Tiki Room

and

the Dole Whip place was

closed!!!

I didn't know they could do that! hangs head <sniffle, sniffle> Well, any day at the Mouse House beats a day at .... well, anywhere!

Thought:
I don't know if I want to go to Disneyland Paris. I kind of have this fear that it would be "plastic-y" - ok, not that WDW or Disneyland is "real" (which, of course, Disneyland IS :teeth: ) I'm just kind of wrestling with wanting to keep Disney as I know it. Is that totally weird? it wouldn't be the first time my thoughts have been considered ... a bit out of the ordinary...

Have to got to DLP just for the :thumbsup2

French Fries :rotfl2:

French Fries :rotfl2:

well, maybe, but I'm not having then "avec mayonnaise" (that's just wrong in my book)

I am just thinking,

Sardinia, Island, Sounds like a beach day to me! :thumbsup2

Sight seeing isnt everyting :woohoo:

DS and I want to go to Paris before the cruise as well. We definitely want to visit DLP. Has anyone ever been? Do you suggest staying at the DLH? Or are there others? Is DLP close to the rest of the city to do sightseeing? Any input would be great! Thanks!

Also, I'm loving that Amex Platinum idea! I keep throwing away the invites, but I may get one just for that!

Thanks guys!

I'm right there with you...was thinking the same thing. Definitely a beach day!

I am traveling with an ARMY (4 Kids) and convenience rates over $! :grouphug:

DLH is right at the entrance to the park! Plus you get at least 3 extra fastpasses when you stay there, if you stay in concierge (Castle Club) you get a VIP fastpass! :wizard:

Now this is the stuff, I have read online on the Paris Disneyland Thread. I am still looking for discounts for this, and will call DVC travel to see if they offer anything off as well. :surfweb:

Being willing to spend does not mean to spend stupidly! :woohoo:

Ohhh almost forgot DLP is a fairly short train ride from Paris, I think about an hour! :thumbsup2

WAIT! What are the invites saying? I just put them right into the shreader. Can you get a platinum card and start getting miles/points/whatever right away. 'splain how this works, please! If we can get 2 for 1 business class tickets as new card holders, this is something I must look into

Just remember each one of those Platinum cards have annual fee's of $300!

By the way my TA says that DCL is getting close to announcing a DLP extension for the trip!

Wonder what the pricing will be? 2 rooms at DLH? They would be about 640 DVC points (regular rooms not castle club), that does include admission to the parks! pirate:

$300 a year??? I hope it comes with a whole lot of great perks for those buckaroos. So, if I pay $300 for the card, can I still get two for one business class tickets right away? That's still gotta be, what ... $5K each? ... at least ... hmmm ... that "upgrade using miles" is starting to look better and better.

And DCL is going to add a DLP trip? My experience has been that you can always do it cheaper on your own. It might be easier just to go DCL. My high school french :teacher: might be a tad rusty - it's been 10 ( :rotfl2: ) years.

Just found this thread. My wife and I, along with another couple from California are all on this trip.

We're going into Paris a day early, fly to Barcelona the morning of the cruise, then go BACK to Paris for a couple of days after the cruise.

I've seen several of you talking about airlines. I've found the best situation for us is to purchase two round trip tickets, one to Paris and back, then the second from Paris to Barcelona.

Look forward to all the information we'll share on here in the next year and 29 days or so!

I have found it less expensive to fly into London then Paris between 25% to 40% less.

Iberia airline seems to be relatively inexpensive to fly either from London $60 one way Paris $95 One way to Barcelona.

I am still undecided but am leaning towards Paris for Simplification.

It all depends if I want to drag my 4 children around London for a few days after the cruise. pirate:

I have been looking into the airfare. AMEX Platinum does have an annual fee of $300. With the card you get a free business or first class ticket for each FULL FARE/NO RESTRICTION fare you purchase....approx $5,000.

Another option is to get a regular AMEX @ $55 per year, and join membership rewards for free. They are like miles, only they don't expire and can be transferred to just about any airline.

I did some research and you can upgrade to businees class for 25,000 points/miles each way/per person for a restricted fare coach class, about 15,000 points/miles for an unrestricted/full fare coach class.

So unless you have been with AMEX and saving those points, you will have to spend a grip of cash in the next year to bank those points!!!

Or you can get the platinum and get a full fare and one free.

Or you can fly coach.

I am just spoiled...I want the perfect vacation!! I am planning, and it's nice to dream! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Howdy Ed! Tell your friends about us and have them drop in.

Honu, I am with you. Spoiled spoiled spoiled. Plus, 10 hours is heap big time to spend with squirmy kids. At least they let you walk the aisles on the longer flights or so I've heard, to prevent that deep vein thrombosis

Does anyone know if American flies over there? I think they fly to London. Last I knew, you could get an international first class seat (in a 3 class airplane) for only 250,000 miles.

Saw this thread and wanted to introduce ourselves. We're going and have a 10 year old girl and 16 year old boy who thinks he's going to get to drive in Europe (i don't THINK so!) Are there any other kids in this age group? Is there a master list of who's going somewhere? So many questions...

Wow! I was looking at some of the other threads for the Med cruises. Whoa, people are very organized...they have Excel spreadsheets on who is cruising, ages, cabin - even photos!

I am not that savy! Anyone here willing to do that? Maybe we can do an edit of a post on our first page!

Any suggestions?...

Spreadsheet, we dont need no stinkun Spreadsheet! :surfweb:

This is the slacker cruise :rotfl2:

We should just paint the lintel of the doors to our cabins red :thumbsup2

That way we can avoid the plague as well! :rotfl:

Maybe we can get the MED Sea to part. :woohoo:

Honu13 - I'm with you. I saw some of the other threads and I thought they were great. They had lots of info. I am not that computer savy either. :confused3
