Fourteen of us made it safely back home yesterday! We all had a blast. I'll just touch on the highlights.

My 10 yo nephew had a blast in Oceanears. He stayed until 1am every night except Pirate Night which we all spent dancing out on deck. Our Assistant Server was incredible with the kids. He performed magic tricks and challenged them with mind teasers all week.

My 13 yo nephew stayed in the Loft nearly all week.

The four 16-20 yo's did their own thing during the week, from hot tubbing to movies to getting lots of pictures with the characters. They really seemed to enjoy themselves. And we worked it out so the three girls had their own room.

87 yo grandma Orine had a blast. Though within hours of getting home last night, she broke her hip so any prayers and thoughts directed her way would be greatly appreciated! Her surgery is today.

Mom & Dad were just glad to have us all together. Dad fell on deck during the sail away. Disney washed his clothes and gave him a bottle of champagne (even though he said he didn't drink). Be careful of spilt drinks on Deck 10 though. Overall I think they didn't care for the entertainment. They loved the food and attention to detail.

I loved it all!

Oh, best tip I've ever given to the ladies - within two or three hours of getting on the boat, get a massage. I scheduled a hot stone at 2pm on embarkation day b/c I wanted to do stuff at the other available times and I had waited too long before reserving. OMG! It completely transitioned me to vacation mode!

If you're on the Wonder this year REQUEST ANNA AS YOUR MASSAGE THERAPIST!!!!! Both my sister-in-law and myself had massages by her and it was hands down (forgive the pun) the best massage I've ever had. She is sweet and personable and has incredible skill. My sil said Anna had received a note from another passenger right before her massage. The other passenger was saying exactly what I am saying, Anna is the best! It's her first contract year & she's from Lester England.

Fireworks were beautiful. The snorkeling in Nassau was the best.

Great vacation with a great company.

Great review. My mom still talks about the massage she had on the Wonder and that was almost two years ago.

Funny you should mention the wet decks.....I had a scary close call with wet decks on my way to breakfast one morning on the Magic. I just purchased flip flops with non-slip soles to wear on the Wonder. Glad DCL took care of your dad.

Good luck with grandma's surgery.

Day #1...

Post day #1 I should say that I am wondering why I didn't take the night before off - I say night because I work till 11pm - from home - but still work... I'm pretty much packed....DD finally finished clothes shopping today...doing my nails at 11pm.....excited....well YEAH!!

Flight leaves Providence at 6:30am.....I'm up around 4am - only to find that DD decided not to sleep at all.....crazy college kid.....shower quickly and we are on our way to the airport......DD repeats several times "why are there people up and driving at this hour?"......we get to the airport and park in the parking garage. At this point I have not realized that I forgot 2 things - 1. my cell phone (thought for sure I switched it when I changed purses - would not be a big deal except for the fact that I had arranged to meet a fellow DIS'er at the port to see us off and of course her cell # is only in my phone - 2. my sunglasses - again a big deal for me since I wear glasses and it took me a long time to find clip-ons that would fit them....

We decide to do the outside check in.....I'd say about 10 families in front of us .....seemed long until we were done and saw the inside line for check in - SMART MOVE - to check in inside. Got coffee (the first of many) and waited for our flight.

Flight was on time - had a layover in Charlotte (more coffee - Starbucks vanilla bean frapacchino) - connecting flight was on time - Dd slept most of the way - I thoroughly enjoyed the bag of 10 pretzels (thank you US Air) - napped a bit - started reading a new book - James Patterson's Beach Road.

Landed in Orlando @ 11:30am....at this point the cruise is still surreal - I'm feeling like I'm going to WDW.....until I go to a different check in line....which went very smoothly by the way .....and off to the DCL busses!!! :cool1: I would say total time between check in at the airport until the bus (we had a new one with porthole windows) filled up and left was @ 30 minutes - gotta love the Disney effeciency!

The ride to the port was fairly quick - the building is ablolutely beautiful!! Got checked in with my problems.....now.....where is my DIS friend......I was so looking forward to seeing her - we sit.....we wait....we walk around the port several times......no Suzanne......or at least I don't see her.....finally I tell DD we may as well just go on board since we have no way of reaching her.....(later I found out that she was outside - little did either of us know that non-travellers at not allowed in the building).

OK.... we are walking thru the giant Mickey ears......getting our picture taken.... having our name called as we are welcomed aboard......OMG..... we really are on a Disney Cruise (safe to say DD is fully awake now!).

Hopefully I don't look too much like some country bumpkin with a neon sign on my head flashing "I've never been on a cruise before - I mostly go to campgrounds"...... I am experiencing a feast for the eyes......since it's nearly 2pm we set off to find our cabin - we are on Deck #6 - inside cabin 6089. Aha - we have found our home away from home....and what's this??? - on the bed - 2 WDW tote bags.....with attached signs that say "Happy Belated Birthday and Enjoy Your First Cruise".....my bag is filled with Pooh goodies and Alyssa's with Princess goodies......have we experienced some real magic here??? I think we are too shocked to really think where they may have come from (more about that later).

Our stateroom is nice - plenty of space for 2 adults- there is a card from our stateroom host - his name is Charlie.
Our luggage has not arrived yet so we set off to Beach Blanket Buffet....yes - we are starving.....
