June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

At Grand Cayman we are definitely going to do a beach/stingray excursion. The M's would love seeing the stingrays in the water. The description says 6 foot+ water but I hope that's not true since the girls (or me for that matter) would not be able to stand up.

One of my favorite days on the PC cruise was the beach day at Cabo that a lot of pirates joined in on, but we didn't do the Jolly Roger or that might've been our #1 favorite. In any case, if we can't get a boat, I hope we can plan a beach day or something with everyone. There is nothing that we are dying to do at any port. We are just looking forward to hanging with a bunch of fellow cruisers. :boat:

Not sure about the night life on the Fantasy, but I heard there is an Irish Pub. I hope it's open late! :drinking1

That was a lovely day, Diane. Despite the fact I nearly drown in those waves when I jumped off the water taxi! :rotfl:

Order up a margarita, girl.......let's do it again!

We definitely want to do Stingray City. I'd love to do a private tour instead of booking through Disney, but the short port times have me thinking the one I really like won't be possible.

The Pirate beach day at Cabo was a lot of fun, even if we almost frowned several times!

I just showed Madison the Stingray City Video and she said she was not going to do it. Will have check out the rest of the family. If we had enough pirates, we could definitely make another beach day memorable.

If I don't take my daughter to swim with some dolphins, she might disown me. Any experiences to share?

I have an obsession with sharks (I am one of those nerds with the 'Happy Shark Week' t-shirt. I have even considered sending cards like you do at Christmas, but I am not insane.) I have a slight worry that I am going to get out there, a dolphin is going to touch me, and even though I know in my mind that it is a dolphin, I am going to turn into a terrified puddle of goo. :)

Hey all
I came by to see what was up and nice to see the planning in full swing.
I'm just procrastinating as I have a ton of work to do...but this makes a nice break:goodvibes

shmoogirl, my family did the Blue Lagoon Dolphin swim back in 2006 and had a blast. I think the ones you'll find on this cruise will probably be just as good if not better :confused3

We've done the Royal Swim at Dolphin Discovery in Cozumel twice. We love it, plus you get access to Chaankanab National Park (ocean, swimming, etc...) as part of the admission. The last time we also swam with a Manatee, which is my daughter's favorite mammal. It was an additional $25 per person, but was awesome. Good Luck.

Swimming with a manatee sounds like an amazing experience!

OMG.....have you ever been up close and personal with a manatee???? Huge. Ugly. Scary. Creepy.

Oh wait....maybe I'm thinking of our very own KRAKEN.:laughing:

Wow, never heard of swimming with a manatee! I think I heard they were very gentle though.
Very cool:thumbsup2

There are photos of the new Dumbo characters for the stern of the Fantasy. Check them out on the DCL facebook page

Stace, wasn't it you that went swimming with sea lions:confused3

This reminds me of the old "Cone Heads" skits on Saturday Night Live. Someone PLEASE tell me I'm not the only one old enough to remember that!!!!

"Ohhhhhh Baby!!" :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh yes I remember! :cool2:

I don't even want to know how the scoring system works for that one...

Naked Bagel Toss... Hum... Some sort of ring toss... Now, what can be used as the post... :rolleyes1

Not really sure what to do in the ports. We have already done a western, so nothing we must do. We are flexable. It would be great to hang with our fellow pirates! pirate:

There was just the one sea lion, and it was really more like a dolphin swim...not really intimidating. And I wasn't looking at the sea lion anyway....the trainer was GORGEOUS!

I love manatees. They look so cute and cuddly. My kids would go crazy if they could swim with one!

It's nice enough, I guess, but I'm not a huge Dumbo fan. I would have preferred a different character myself. But it's definitely very Disney. And as long as I'm on board, I don't care who's hanging off the stern.

As long as its not you hanging off the stern - right!:thumbsup2

Thats right drive around the island of Cozumel and see the tru splendors of me island - Stops will include just about every rum soaked bar on the far south and east side of the island ......

We will leave from the ship to our waiting Jeeps near the pier and drive south to our first stop - Rasta's , A Jamaican inspired mexican bar with plenty of drinks to refresh yourself , hammocks and a beach far better then anything Disney can show you ..LOL - After we get our fill of fine refreshments we will make our way up the eastern coast of Cozumel to the World Famous Coconuts :banana: , here we will endure more fine refreshments and the best view in Cozumel , as it sits on the only cliff on the island ... The food here is spectacular and the goings on are a bit wild at times , but memories to last a life time to say the least :rotfl2::rotfl2:

After which time you surely can drive where ever you want and the freedom to do as you please ...The road in Cozumel goes around the island so you can't get lost .....*****Keep in mind , this is Usually Pirate nite , so for some of us the time will be short and please watch yer rum intake ...:rotfl2:

More details to come , price should be right around 60 to 65 dollars per JEEP ....thats right I said per Jeep , not per Person ... This will include Jeep, insurance,Tax and Petro ...Top that Disney ..:lmao::lmao:

Space will be Limited and the details have not been completely hammered out , but this gives you an idea of what I have planned and what I am doing. I will be in Coz in Feb so I will get all the particulars taken care of then ......
