June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Hey all! Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Hopefully everyone in the South managed to avoid the huge storms. So scary!

We are doing well here. All set for our trip to visit Mickey this August. I am pretty sure that my daughter, Katie, still doesn't have a clue. We will be at my parents house in North Carolina the week before so when we leave, she will think that we are coming home. I can't wait to see how long it takes her to realize that we are going the completely wrong way!

Anyway, things are good here. My husband is entertaining the kiddies while I watch the NFL Draft tonight. I <3 all the hype of the first couple of rounds. Then tomorrow my daughter is beside herself to see the Royal wedding (really, who doesn't want to see a girl become a REAL Princess?) So we'll be watching that tomorrow after school. Pretty exciting stuff, huh?

Good morning fellow cruisers. Another week has gone by.
We now have only

weeks to go to the Fantasy.

Some of you have seen these on Facebook, but thought I'd share here too. The Wonder was here in San Francsico so I got pictures of her coming in Friday morning and then leaving Saturday afternoon. Had a great time playing tour guide with friends.

Here's is her arrival (about 6:40am Friday)

And the departure at 4pm Saturday

She did come back about 7:30pm on Saturday due to a medical emergency and I think left about 9pm. I happened to be driving down the freeway and was able to see her coming back in, but no pictures. Wouldn't have felt right to be out there taking pictures for that arrival though.

thanks for posting the SF photos I remember sailing under the Golden Gate many times back in 1972 brings back memories I was a guest of the US Navy then. sadly I have never been back yet.

Bad news last week......My brother's Cancer is back. He has more appts. this week -- Oncologist and his primary. Greg wants to see about doing a different chemo treatment this time around.
Last summer he moved closer to me (about 20 mins closer) for just this reason.....in case he got sick again he wanted to make it easier on me.

We may need to cancel our Oct trip....it will depend on when he decides to start his treatment, etc.... We have a family reunion the second weekend in July (this yr in Omaha) and he really wants to be healthy enough to attend.

Laurie, hope your pump held out! My mom has/is has water issues in her basement. She was excited to find a pump for her shop vac. She was having a time emptying it when it got too full. But now is able to just have it drain to the shower.

The Magic and the Wonder are beautiful ships. I get goosebumps every time I see them. The Dream not so much. The extra decks make it look awkward to me

Paula, thanks, my sump pump did well with all the rain
I just got complacent when we got a new one last year and thought I wouldn't have to worry anymore. Then a month or so back it got clogged or something and our basement flooded again
Just gotta push Darren into helping me pick out an alarm and battery backup. Usually I threaten to hire someone to do it and that works
I'm guessing I can get these at Sears or Lowes
Not gonna enjoy vacations until I do.

Thanks. He starts chemo on Tuesday. He is going with a different one this time. And he has to be hospitalized the first time so, he'll be in the hospital for 3 days.

He is a nice guy, Laurie.

And we could really use the prayers. Luckily we (the kids & I) hadn't committed to much this summer so, my schedule is flexible for now.

The last time he went through this I spent some time everyday either sitting with him, taking him to an appt or running errands for him. So, I need to be available on a moments notice.

Good thoughts for a great recovery for your brother. So sorry to hear this.

I'll be in Omaha in July, also. My whole family (including my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons) all live in Omaha. I'm going for a visit in between the two babie's birthdays....I couldn't go in June and then again in August.

I'll be in Omaha in July, also. My whole family (including my daughter, son-in-law and grandsons) all live in Omaha. I'm going for a visit in between the two babie's birthdays....I couldn't go in June and then again in August.

I still can't get over how fast they are growing up!!! They are adorable
