June 23rd 2012 - Commandeering the Disney Fantasy - Pirates back in the Caribbean

Coral....Kylie would love to have someone to play soccer with!!!

Kylie plays Spring and Fall soccer with her club and a winter indoor season with her same teammates, but not formally through her club. Her Fall training won't start up again until August. She won't miss anything while on the cruise. Does Miranda's team play through the Summer?

BTW.....what grade is Miranda in? Kylie is currently in 5th grade.

Miranda is in the 5th grade too. She is really excited about checking out the Tween club this summer. She will still be there on our cruise so that will be fun.

She plays select soccer with the Liverpool organization. They play either games or tournaments throughout the year. The longest we ever go between games is 1 weekend and that is pretty unusual. That's the pits when Texas summers are 100 degrees+. Tough to even watch - more less than in it.
I loved indoor as a parent. Closer and weather is definitely better. Miranda
has an outdoor tournament Super Bowl weekend as as msnbc.com put it - it could be 75 0r 25 degrees in Dallas during the Super Bowl. They told people coming for the Super Bowl to pack t-shirts and heavy coats- never know what it will be here.

I totally read this going uhuh uhuh, I'm following ya, yeah yeah.....
and then NO IMAGES WITH THAT POST? *faints from shock* LOL

YEah ... I know...

But I had to run immediately after I drafter that reply?

I was deliverin' a hot lunch to my kids at school... then I had a lunch appointment myself right after so I just had to go immediately.

I'm INNOCENT of any wrong doin' I tell ya!

:confused3

For all those parents worried about their teens, just remind them that they will have family all over the ship. DS was in shock on the TA when the first night at dinner I had several people mention to me (in front of him) that they saw him getting into the elevator, walking by the pool, etc. He realized he couldn't go anywhere without someone spying on him. :cool2: It got so that our servers were even ratting him out. He couldn't get away with much. LOL. Unfortunately most of the feedback I got was, yeah, I saw him, he had 3 girls trailing after him. (Wasn't so bad once I ensured that he was at least holding the doors open for the girls)

I saw him alot on the PC and he always looked like he was having a great time -- and being good! :)

But I think he just outsmarted me by asking about the kid's thread. I really gotta go to bed now.

lol. I know I have a couple that would love to see a kids thread. Elvis had a such a time trying to *meet* other DIS'ers in the Lab. He had met several on the thread and tried to meet them in person.... He couldn't get a single kid (except Todd's son).......

Just a note, we seem to have gotten the *Last* Cat 10 cabin for our cruise. I'm hoping the "Porthole" is as cool as it sounds...

:dance3: I'm so glad that y'all are coming with us!!!

We just started talking about going to WDW for a week post cruise!! WhooHoo!!

Think *week before*. :thumbsup2

I was routing for the Jets........my team lost long ago. I am not to excited about this superbowl but always look forward to the commercials.:lmao:

I'ld like it better if the next few weeks weren't going to interfere with my life... lol.

TWO things..... Does she ever play down this way? If she played baseball/softball I know she would play down this way... I live 5 mins from *Field of Dreams* or whatever it's called. lol.
Second thing... I had to LOL about the temps. That is the truth! LOL! BUT, I'm tired of Arlington being referred to as Dallas..... Not even in the same COUNTY!! OK. rant over. ;)

I was thinking about attempting this. I figure I have 17 months to get myself ready for it. I don't run, jog and sometimes walk so this is HUGE for me. I don't think it would be hot weather in June. ( At least early in morning )

You should look into the Couch to 5K program! I did it last year and it was great. A really slow way to start and get running!

Okay, cool!

Kylie's select club (Crew Juniors) is affiliated with Columbus Crew (MLS).

Has Miranda seen the virtual sports simulators on Goofy's Sports Deck? They might enjoy those, as it does include a soccer experience.

Soccer in 100+ degrees?

I was there to witness the "dirt" as well.....
.:rolleyes1

No images???

Gee.... careful ladies with the "dirt" ...

My gentle INNOCENT soul can only stand so much taunting!

Well... OK ... go ahead and taunt me again!?

Looks like we are a gonna be joining all ya pirates!!!!! It will be myself, my roomie (Misti) and the 2 grandchildren Dominique will be turning 12 on the cruise and Faith will have turned 5. Have done many Disney cruises now and we are doing a back to back with this one. Staying on afterwards to do the Eastern. Our last cruise was the Wonder NYE cruise (eastern) and had a blast. Getting ready to move to Alaska for the next 2 years, so will be more than ready for the warm tropical breezes of the Carib.

It will be great to see you all again - but how did those girls grow up fast - Faith was only crawling when we were on the PC cruise!

Several of the Pirates on this cruise did the C25K program and have been quite successful. I am an encourager, not a runner, LOL.

Anyone planning to do the Castaway Cay 5K?

I am a somewhat new runner (since last year), but I am planning to do the Princess 1/2 Marathon in 2012 with some girlfriends, so I was thinking that I might do the Castaway Cay 5K as well. I suppose it will depend on how many of those 'Drinks of the Day' I have in the week leading up to it! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I'm definitely considering it. I'm also new to running. I started in July, and just ran/walked the WDW half marathon a few weeks ago. It was an incredible experience, and I'm actually kicking around the idea of doing the full marathon next January. If you can do the Princess Half, I'd highly recommend it!

Okay - back to the drawing board - we'll go to WDW the week before and if Paul can take the time off we could do b2b the week following - or just save the money!!

WDW the week before....:yay::yay::yay:

I like that..... My rear is NOT interested in running...but, I can encourage. :) :cheer2::cheer2: GO Mike! GO Tom! GO Lisa! :cheer2::cheer2: Am I missing anyone???

I was going to recommend couch to 5k too. That's how I started, and while it wasn't easy, I was actually able to stick with it.

Encouragement is greatly appreciated!!

Also, go Laura, who went through C25K at the same time as me, and guilted my lazy butt into running on those days that I didn't want to. And go M, my half marathon inspiration and role model!

We are moving up to Kotzebue, working at the hospital up there. We are so looking forward to that!!!!

Wow! That will be an awesome experience. I've been all over the state, but never Kotzabue. You are probably all set, but ask away if you have any questions about life in the last frontier.

So, by summer 2012, Mike will have run either 2 WDW half marathons or a half and a full. Lisa and Nick will have run a WDW 5K and maybe a half. My monkeys and Lisa's youngest will have a few WDW 5K's under their belts. Mike's kids might have a WDW 5K. Steve (DH) and I have run 2 Expedition Everest Challenges. I've run 2 WDW halfs and Steve has run a WDW half and 4 Mickey marathons, including Dopey Weekend of a 5K, and a Goofy (half and full the same weekend).

...and most of us wouldn't consider ourselves runners!

I'm volunteering Laura for the Castaway 5K too! :)

With Laura stowing away on the Maiden Voyage without telling any of us, I'd say we volunteer her for any and all activities!
