June 22 Magic (Western)

Thanks to all who responding. They were great suggestions and they worked. I kept hounding travel agent and she somehow got my documents so we too are doing the happy dance. I have a question about the green ribbons. Where do we get them, and what do they mean?

Donnetta

Donnetta,

Cam has sent us all green ribbons so we can id each other. I believe it is a disney board tradition. If you need some email her she might have some more.[ckeener@rmgglaw.com] This is my fisrt cruise but Cam & Roberta have been very helpful with all their veteran tips. I am so looking forward to 6/22 and meeting all these wonderful people I have met on this board.

Glad you finally got your documents. See you next week. Only 11 more days.

Hi Donnetta,

Welcome to the thread and to the June 22 DIS'ers!!!

The green ribbons worn on the shirt/blouse/hat show that you are a DIS'er (or DIS Board person). They identify you to others and in-turn let you know others who frequent this site and share information, friendship and advise.

My DW (Cam) has been sending ribbons to everyone who needs them. If you want to send her the information (how many and where to send them), I am sure she'd be glad to drop some ribbons and pins in the mail to you. (Keenercam@aol.com)

We are at less than 10 days until departure!!!!!!!!!

Enjoy the days until the cruise! See you there.....

Howard

:Pinkbounc Can you believe how the time is flying? I am off tomorrow to take family to Dollywood for the day. Should be in the 90's here. We are almost ready for cruise. I bought a memory card today for the new camera. Should be able to take plenty of pictures without a problem. We had fun testing the camera this weekend.
Donetta welcome to the June 22nd bunch. Glad you got your documents straightened out.
Have to go to the party store for door decorations yet. Anyone else decorating? Any great ideas to do with our green ribbons that are quick and easy?

Yvonne

Yvonne - I put my green ribbons on the Castaway Cay Pins we received the first year we sailed with DCL, they are tack pins and I put it through the middle of the bow that I make from the green ribbon. I used them last year and they work great. I did get some ironing done tonight after we went out for pizza. It was 90 degrees here today and it was too hot to even think about cooking. After pizza we went for ice cream. Ross and Rianna actually came with Ralph and I. They are usually busy and we go without them. It was nice to have all four of us for dinner. Made my list of to do's before we go away....change the beds, call the police dept, give our key to the neighbor to pick up mail/newspaper and feed the fish the usual things. My parents are actually down south all this week. They left last Monday and they come back on this Friday. They went to Tennessee Opreyland, Memphis, Nashville, Knoxville, they called last night from Branson, MO. They also toured St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital and Mom said it was unbelievable. Well, take it easy everyone and stay in touch....

OK guys, the Wal-Mart trip is done!!!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc That usually means the trip is not far behind! I pulled all my clothes out tonight so DH can get them in the suitcase. I have a few errands with Lindsey in the morning, then I need to go to the office for a while. Then a meeting, then all the last minute running. Wes and Wes will pack the car tomorrow night!!!:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D We start the office around 7:45 on Thursday, see all of our post OP's and then off we go!! Hopefully on the road by 1:00.

We will have our computers with us or if any one is in OKW, give us a yell!

Finally, we are in the Single Digit Countdown!!!! Only 9 days! We just ran to Wal-mart to pick up some more sunscreen! My Dad and I need a high SPF to go snorkaling (sp?) with the stingrays!!!! Last year when we went snorkaling we both got really burnt!!! We are having a picnic this weekend for my sisters birthday since we will be away the weekend we normally have it. So, if getting ready for this cruise wasn't enough, we have to get ready for the picnic too!

Counting down the days...

Hi everyone!!! I am going crazy! I can't believe only 9 days away and I still have things to do like, cleaning the house, making a list of last minute things, buy more clothes and pack up everything. I usually don't pack until the day before. WHY?! I don't know...and ironing?...that's almost like double work for me...if I iron from home and then when I get to the cruise I gotta iron again...not me...I'll just wait until when we change our clothes there and that's when I'll iron...there is an iron in the cabins, right?

I do like to say THANK YOU to Cam for sending the green ribbons...so efficient and very organized...good job, Cam.

Just to let all of you know that, our neighbor, Colleen and her two sons; Sean 13 and Conner 2, are going with us to this June 22 cruise. Yesterday was not a good day...at around 6pm, Colleen was on the freeway and had an car accident. I don't know the whole story, but someone hit her from the back...hit her so hard that her earings came off. I have not talked to her yet, but she is home and is feeling okay...but the thing is that she had to leave this morning to go to Florida for a business trip and I sure hope she's not feeling any pain. I'm praying that she will be okay and also praying that everyone including this DIS board that no one gets hurt before this trip...things can happen so fast...so please be careful in all you do.

See you at the CRUISE:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Morning all,

I know, my youngest will be in high school next year too. They are growing up too fast. I think the shopping is over at my house. Scott(16) won't let me buy his clothes any more. So he still has a bathing suit and some other items? to purchase. I will pay him back. He is off from football and Pizza Hut tomorrow so it is on his schedule for them. Took all the suits and dress shirts to the cleaners.

Don't forget lip balm with sunscreen. There is nothing worse than sunburnt lips.

I can't believe we are down to one week. I couldn't sleep last night with all the stuff running through my head.

Have a great day and see some of you next Friday and the rest Saturday.

Joanne

Hi, everyone!!
Great to see you all posting.
Hey, Julie, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but no irons in the cabins. Or were you joking? Sorry if I am clueless.
Well, guys, just this morning I started organizing piles of clothes--still need to find black evening sandals and another top or two for nightclubbing, but for the most part, I think I am set. Definitely noticed that some of my clothes will need ironing, so I will iron some and put each item on a drycleaner hanger with the plastic, but I am going to count on Downy Wrinkle Releaser and shower steam, for the most part.
Biggest chore right now is trying to figure out all the logistics for sending our kids off to friends for 6/20-6/23, finding someone to take care of our sweet baby cali (my 2 yr old cairn terrier) from 6/21-6/23, cleaning my house for my in-laws arrival on 6/23, making closet space for them, clearing the guest room and closet and drawers for my niece who is coming to stay with us. What I really should be doing is hanging out at the hospital in NJ where my mother is in ICU. We spent monday night in NJ at a wake and Tuesday night at ICU and last night paying bills, filing, and making pasta salad for the cub scout picnic tonight. Looking forward to a weekend !
Hope you are all enjoying the anticipation. Can't believe that by this time next Friday we will be in Orlando, visiting with friends.
Have fun and keep posting.
BTW, tip of the day-- bring an extra battery for your camera, and I read somewhere that FUJI underwater camera may be better than Kodak. We are going to give it a try this time.

Hey, Cam;

No, I'm afraid I wasn't joking, I thought all rooms had one...oh no!
Maybe I could bring my travel iron or is that not allowed...do you know if it is? I'll probably do your method that you just mentioned.

Thanks,

Julie:D :Pinkbounc

Hey, Julie!
Not only is there not one in your cabin, they are only in the laundry rooms, which are not on every floor, and I have heard the lines can be bad to iron before dinner. I know that travel irons are not allowed in the cabins, and we have never taken one.
Last year, we did not have any problem with wrinkles--we put everything nice on hangers with plastic and then just hung everything up as soon as the garment bag suitcase arrived at our cabin. I have been using DWR on all my tshirts and shorts recently and it has worked great. And the bathrooms are small enough that you will definitely get steam when you shower :D

i have a tough weekend coming up. i have to be gone for business on Father's Day. I am an Independant MFG REP.
I have to go to Orlando to review a project that i am doing.
Since it will only take me about two to three hours to do this, it is a good oportunity to have a Father- Daughter date. My DD11 and i will visit Universal Sunday and Epcot on Monday, site visit on tuesday morning and home that afternoon. if anyone is going to be in Orlando then from the DIS Magic June 22 cruise, email me.

John

P.S. for those wondering...It's Business!;)

Hey, John!
Have a great time! Save some sunshine for all of us arriving on 6/21!

Julie - I usually Iron before and roll everything like a sleeping bag and nothing is usually wrinkled. I have used the wrinkle release before and I have a Wonder Steamer that I bring with me that steams out wrinkles. The irons on the ship I would not trust, I have read and heard horror stories of people burning and ruining garments. Bring a travel iron and just hide it in the closet or the cupboard above the t.v. Hang all garments as Cam said in plastic bags from the cleaners and they will not be wrinkled. Each individually in plastic. Sometimes you can roll dresses in the plastic too and pack them that way. Well, I am getting ready to go home for lunch and maybe enjoy some peace and quiet. Ross is working today, he only has 3 finals left next week. Rianna still has school until we leave next week. Keep in touch guys....

:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I am jealous. Have a great time. One week and counting.

To Debbie and everyone who is leaving a bit early for time at WDW, Universal, Sea World, etc. please travel safely.

To everyone else.... our time is at hand. Only 8 days to go !!! :p :p We leave in 7!!!

John: Enjoy that Business ( ;) ) Trip!!! :sunny: :sunny:
