I think the day we board the ship would be good also due to the activities planned on sea days. Do you think we should make it a little later like 3-3:30 in case some may be checking late? We are checking in at 11:30 so we will be there early so either works for us.

I'll do whatever is the consensus, but spa raffles are usually about 3:15 and you have to be present to win so I'd like to be there...when does dinner start? Would 4 be too late?

I checked a few navigator, safety drill was always at 4 pm.

Since there seemed to be activities everywhere, should we come back to the breakfast on the 1st day at sea idea? Finding the time that suit everyone may be difficult though...

I would not think breakfast because we don't know yet when the character breakfast will be. I am assuming there will be one and they are usually on sea days.
On previous cruises the time was usually around 2:30, since most people from the dis usually try to board as early as possible to get to enjoy the first day. there will never be a perfect time, so just post here when it's decided. Hopefully it will be a time most people can make it. We can wait and see the navigators to see if anything is scheduled the first afternoon or not and when the breakfast is. I know the sea day afternoons tend to have more activities.

Could everyone please say a prayer for the Disney Magic on her maiden voyage out of NYC? They are heading directly into a tropical storm. The captains and crew on the ship are concerned about getting to Nassau. Let's all say a prayer for the storms to go out to sea and keep our DCL friends and family safe as they travel.

Well that stinks. I thought 7 and 7 plus night cruises still had it. I bought my daughter an Ariel costume for it. She's 9 so I dont see her wearing it just around the boat. Boo

They were doing character breakfasts on the Magic in April. They only do it on sailing of 7 days or more. The magic has been doing shorter cruises recently so they wouldn't be doing them. I'm pretty sure they will have them on the 8 day sailings. They don't do them on the fantasy though.

Right now they're on their first 8 night cruise out of NYC. When she gets back to NYC, I'll ask.

When the Fantasy arrived in Port Canaveral, it took over the itineraries of the Magic to the Eastern and Western Caribbeans (all 7 night cruises with the exception of Christmas and New Year's). The Magic then did shorter cruises until it was due in NYC during fleet week (yes, Disney planned that). When The Dream arrived in Port Canaveral to take over the Wonder itineraries, the Wonder immediately went to Los Angeles. Disney had to keep the Magic in Florida until NYC's fleet week - that was all planned.

She just posted on Facebook that the tropical storm has found them and everyone is getting seasick. Let's all say a little prayer to keep the cast, crew, and passengers on the Disney Magic safe.

it would be a shame if they no longer have it. So many things have changed and disappeared since our first cruie on DCL 11 years ago on the Magic. The lines in the atrium are often so long for some of the characters it was a time you could be sure to get a photo and some character interaction but it was often very rushed depending on how full the ship was.
Anyone know if many cabins are still open on our sailing?

Well that's a bummer. I've not been on a 7+ night cruise before so was looking forward to experiencing it once.
