I'm writing up a bigger trip report, but just wanted to pop over here to say this was one of our best trips ever I'm so glad it all worked out and we could see all the 70th stuff! More details to come.

Wife and I just got back and had an incredible time.

We did June 20/22/24 in DL and 21/23 in DCA. 5 days was a lot but honestly we were in there open to close almost every day, the amount of entertainment on offer for 70 is astounding

The last day we were there (24th) the crowds were absolutely nuts, I’m not sure why it was just a Monday, but the day before was completely dead so it evened out I guess.

The one downside is that it’s really too bad they’re having trouble with the castle projections as it’s on my bucket list to get that front castle spot one day but I knew they’ve been extra spotty lately so I didn’t want to wait the 3 hours, and I’m glad I didn’t. I don’t think there were castle projections the whole week we were there - I can’t complain too much though given everything else on offer

I'm back and am having the post Disney blues! Whats the cure to that? Another Disney trip We are thinking Fall Dapper Days again

The trip was great...the highlight being Pride Night. I loved the special fireworks and the mood was just perfect. Everyone was happy and it made the atmosphere amazing. It was also nice to have less foot traffic in the normal choke points (mainly NOS and near the Rivers of America).

Oh! And this trip I discovered the corn dogs from Little Red Wagon. Oh my gosh...they are SO good. We had to go back and get another one the next day. They seemed much better than the ones at Corn Dog castle somehow. Another food highlight was the quesabirria tacos from Cocina. We got those twice too...they are amazing. I also got a watermelon paloma seltzer each time. Highly recommended, and I loved the rim (it was like lucas candy, but I am not sure what it's officially called). Each time we were walking to find a table we had at least a few people ask where we got the drinks! On another day we did Craftsman grill and split the chicken nachos. It was huge and we couldn't even finish it between the two of us. Spicy but delicious. Later that same day we went back to Craftsman for dinner and got pizza, but that was sort of a bummer. The crust was kind of chewy and they added too much oregano. I'll forgive them though, since those nachos were out of the park

In addition to my new found devotion for Little Red Wagon corn dogs, the other thing this trip solidified for me is that I am a rope drop person rather than a close out the parks type of person. Since we were doing Pride Night we slept in that day and the day after. I really missed the mornings since I feel like we get so much more done, which leads to more relaxing evenings. This trip I felt like I was refreshing for LLs way more and trying to strategize how to fit in rides. I also missed mornings at DL in general...there is something about the cool air and the smell of churros and popcorn that is just down right magical. Next trip we are rope dropping each day!

We’re heading out today for a stop in Vegas on the way home. Other than Tuesday the 24th crowds were super manageable and the lowest I’ve seen here. We had LLMP but didn’t really need it but my kids appreciated it as the longest we waited for anything was 20 minutes and even walked on Rise twice. Weather was super nice in the morning and evening and just a bit warm in the afternoon.

We’ve never seen Paint the Night or Fantasmic and both were highlights for us. We also all liked the fireworks from Star Wars land more than at the castle. We really enjoyed the trip and highly recommend coming this summer for the 70th entertainment and lower crowds!
