June 2019 points now gone. The wait begins...

If you didn’t book DVC, those points are reservation points. Those do not show up online because once converted, they can no longer be used for DVC villas...you have to call in to use them.

Our trip was for June 9th and we were at the Grand Californian. DVC rooms weren't available, and the CM told me we could transfer out to the regular hotel rooms, and being DVC availability is so small, that's what most members do. Yesterday they cancelled my reservation because it's not open, but the points are gone. Tried to call member services and the number has the busy signal and the chat function isn't working. I sent an email, but I too am freaking out. It was 237 points! Are all you guys saying we just have to wait? And hope? I just also want to say I'm thankful there are others out there going through this with us.

They did explain that once you transferred to use them for GC that they became reservation points and could no longer be used for a DVC resort stay, yes? You'll have to use them for another hotel stay or one of the other eligible options. They also will expire at the end of your UY if not used.
 
Our 10 points from a covid cancelled reservation that were 2019 June UY disappeared June 1st, but reappeared today. Does anyone know if I go in and modify our January trip that was booked with 2020 points, if it will replace 10 of those points with these "banked" points. Or do we have to call?
Can you tell the difference between those extended 2019 points and the current use year 2020 points? If so, I would go ahead and give modifying a try. If you can't tell, I would call MS.
 
I called this morning in hopes of having them reallocate my 2018 points to one of my existing reservations especially since I saw the 2019 points back in my account. It took about half an hour to get through to someone, once I got someone she had a mission trying to figure out where these points might even be. Finally when I told her they were part of my May reservation and she did the math she was able to see that they were not transferred back into my account yet. She looked up an email she had that said they were still working on the 2018 points so it might be a few more days, she didn't know when because her email didn't say when.

Yes, but when I called the agent explained that there were no DVC rooms, but people switched out all the time in order to have a reservation for the dates needed. Being they cancelled, we'd like them to return the reservation points back to DVC points so we can use them at WDW next year. Having to go to a hotel room, then transfer mid stay is such a pain, as well as a pain for tickets and buying the dining plan. It's not like money has changed hands at this point.

I chatted with GS today, and she stated the extension to use them until my use year ends next year, not this year. However, if I wanted them returned to vacation club points, I'd need to ask and directed me to a general mail box. I said our 11 month window is next month, and I'd like to actually ask someone. She said they'd call within 7 days. Worse they can say is no and I have to figure out something.

I think that's new then. I was under the impression they had not included reservation points in any extensions previously.

Yep! I heard from the manager today from Guest Services. They were called back into work yesterday! HOORAY! He said the reservation points that are used for the hotel rooms are basically cash, and when you swap out DVC points to reservation points, a transaction is made on their business side. So unfortunately that's why they can't turn them back into DVC points.

We'll be able to use them, but the chances of a reservation matching the points exactly is very slim to none. He did say we'd have to do 2 different Dining plans (one per reservation), but our tickets could be bought for the entire stay.

Interestingly enough, he did say that the Dining Plan has been suspended until September of 2021 due to their Covid rules right now. I actually said "So there's a chance we won't be able to have the dining plan for our vacation?" And he said "As of now, yep". Holy cow.

Let's hope this Covid stuff gets relaxed, and quickly!!
