June 2013 Car Rental When Best Deals

It's pretty bad when you start quoting yourself, but no-one else seems to be interested in this thread. :bitelip: I am know at $181. for a standard vehicle with Alamo using just the Insiders log on and the $30. coupon quoted above. I was even able to put in my actual time of 1:00 p.m. so I am good as gold now. Hope this helps someone. :thumbsup2

As long as you don't start talking to yourself;)!

I rechecked my rates (i lurk everytime i'm on the DIS here lately but haven't been able to beat my exisiting rate).

ran both the AP & insider rates and now i'm paying $2 more for a fullsize car vs the mid i had booked.

7 nights arriving 6/8 $124.xx, a mid available at $118.xx

sweet, less $ than i've paid in years:woohoo:

I have 2 weeks booked for $352 total with taxes. Still too high for the first two weeks of June. I am hoping rates come down. Last year we traveled the same dates and we paid $222 total.

Currently June 19th into Sandford. June 30th out at PIE airport (St. Pete). $412 for mini van all in with Vroom Vroom and visa coupon. Not sure how good that is but I can't seem to get it down? I need the mini van. 2 car seats, 4 adults, wheelchair, and double stroller... plus luggage. Staying offsite in Orlando for a week, Clearwater for 5 days.

I finally booked through Dollar, just using the city special. $193 for a full size car for June 1st thru 8th. I'm happy with that, but will be monitoring in case it goes down more!

Thank you! My previous best had been $214 with Alamo, and this brought me down to $155!:goodvibes

sure, insider's log in and the $30 coupon AD2338FDF, WDW AP code = same rate

We have two days in the middle of our June trip where we are not going to any parks. Instead, we will be doing some shopping and stuff in the orlando area. I need a rental car for these 2 days, June 6 & 7. I'd like to stay close to POR so its not that long of a drive to get and return the car. So far, the cheapest I have found for a full-size car is Thirfty at around $85 total. This just seems high to me for a 2-day local rental. Anyone have any suggestions? I would need to keep it a full size rental.

Thanks!

I just booked on Dollar--I didn't use any special codes but DH has an Express ID (as far as I can tell it doesn't give you a discount, just allows you a special line to check in). We got June 7-11 for $110 (includes taxes) for a full size. I checked June 6-8 and could get a mid-size for $42, with tax is $61.33. I did use the 'city code' that pops up so click on the 'city code' button and you will get some nice lower prices.

Good luck all...

Well, now I had to go back and check. The city special on Dollar just went down even more! Today, my June 1st-8th city special price was $168. $30 cheaper than last night!!! :cool1:

I just cancelled my last reservation and changed to this one. And now I'm walking away. Time to think about something else. :rotfl2:

If you had to pick between Dollar and Budget who would you go with?

Anyone know if either let you pick your car? Does either offer the 2nd drive (spouse) for free? I keep mixing up the two.

I finally got a decent rate through Costco, after all of the previous reservations (that I have to cancel now). :rotfl2:

Budget Car Rental: June 12-21, 2013 = $208.01 after all applicable taxes, etc. with a pick up and return to MCO. It also includes an additional driver. I have used it prior to now on a different combination, but could not get it to $200 or under. This is as close as I have gotten so far with the above dates (which spans the exact number of days I will need it). Hoping for a lower rate before we leave. :thumbsup2

BTW.... I do have a car reserved with E-Z Rent a Car, for $192.49 for the same dates and pick up. However, I have not heard of them so I am a bit leery. But I still have it reserved for now. got it a few weeks ago.

Now... Off to cancel some reservations.

:goodvibes

Just wanted to update: Instead of the $208.01 for my rental car for the above dates. I now have the same car from Budget for $179.38 after all applicable taxes and fees. It was through Costo and with Budget.

What size car? Rates are great but if someone is looking for a different size car and cannot get this price it doesn't help because they are looking at something different

Rates for my dates (June 4-11) have dropped a bit at Alamo and on carrentalsavers.com. Car Rental Savers has an intermediate for $142 all taxes and fees included with Enterprise. Not too shabby, though last year was cheaper.

For now I'm keeping my Standard at Alamo for $153. I got that rate using our Insider's code, plus the Visa discounts (Coupon Code AD7394SDJ and ID #7015504). We've used Alamo the past few trips, and I've never tried Enterprise. Unless another company's rates fall more than a few bucks, I'll keep with Alamo.

Thank you so much for posting! I just got $70 off by using this instead of going with National. I do have a question though...it says "The price includes $40 off in coupon savings and up to 35% off." Do I have to find out what this coupon is? And can I check this rental on the Budget site now? I may keep both my National and this one for a few weeks just in case I can get the National down since Budget doesn't have the greatest rep, but $70 is great, thank you!

Thanks for the suggestion to check Costco. I had checked in the past, but the cost was not competitive. I have gone from $250ish with National to $160xx with Budget.

Does anyone know if Budget has anything like National where you do not need to go to the counter? If so, how do I sign up for that?? Thanks!!

Fastbreak is their program, but I'm not sure if it eliminates the counter completely. Would definitely speed the process up.

There is no physical coupon. I just show my Costco card if they ask for it. I have only been asked for it once about 4-5 years ago. Yes you can use the confirmation to check, modify, or cancel your reservation directly via the Budget site. I went there today to cancel yesterday's rental. I have some others still reserved but today rate has me satisfied.... For now. :)

got my full-size car for May 28-June 2 with Budget through Costco. I needed a one way rental after Disney to Port Canaveral to go on a cruise. Was totally happy with $127 with taxes. :thumbsup2 Thanks for these boards for the heads up. :thumbsup2

That was for a compact. It was the same price as the economy so I just got the "bigger" of the two. Other classes were reasonable in price as well.

I went onto the Budget site to check my rental I had made through Costco, and there was something about the price being an approximation. Did anyone else see that on their agreement? I have a Rapid Rez number but didn't see how to add it so may just call on that.
