June 2012 code watch?

I heard today from a friend who uses a travel agency for her disney trips. Her agent told her that Free Dining is being released March 1st!! WOOHOO!! That is exactly what I was hoping for for our June 2-9th trip!

Did she say what dates would be covered under the free dining promo?

My goodness I hope this is true. It would be so much better than the 25% off we have now. Now if we can make it until March 1st because I just hate waiting!!!

anyone heard anything about the kids play free deal they have done the last couple of years? we have 3 under 9 so that has saved us a ton!
also, if i book now for room only discount how hard is it to change if a better deal comes out?

I've never had a problem getting a promo added if something better came out. I always hold out hope up till the day we leave.

She didn't know what dates were going to be affected just that it was June - September.

I'm booking our trip friday for June 2-9 at the PO French Quarter with the discount they have going on now, but as soon as the FD is released, we are changing it then upgrading to the deluxe dining. Its our kids first trip as we are fitting in a character meal each day just about.
Can't wait to see their little faces light up!

AP rates are out through June 14. Looks like they are about 5% more off than the GP offer, but I haven't crunched all the categories.

You have to choose which discount you'd rather have. You can't have both.

Sounds very promising. We are going to be there June 2-9th as well, right now at POP but, if there's going to be free dining, maybe we will upgrade to a mod.......mmmmmmm. Just the regular Dining plan for us. I think the deluxe will be too much food for us and we are heading out on the cruise on the 9th so, we will have plenty of opportunity for unlimited great food then

so, if I remember correctly with a value you get free QS, Mod free DDP and with Deluxe, free deluxe.... If that is what is going to be offered this time as well, I might need to consider upgrading to a mod instead of staying at POP and paying to upgrade from the free QS to DDP....I so like the idea of POP having it's own bus..... Stayed at CBR and really didnt like the bus situation with all those multiple stops. Thinking perhaps about Royal room at POR but, that's a min of 4 bus stops and maybe 5 when it shares with POFQ-- what's a girl to do!!!! We will just wait and see what happens in March.

So....There's a possibility of Free Dining during June? If that were to happen, I'd face a hard decision----Stick with the plan of using the current room discount at Beach/Yacht Club, or take the FD at POR. (I refuse to pay rack rate at a deluxe just to get free dining!)

I hate to go against what the OP said, but Cast Members say a lot of crazy things that aren't true. Disney has never offered free dining to the general public for June and July... because they don't need to offer it. It's one of their busiest seasons. I will be shocked if they come out with free dining as a general public offer for summer. I'll believe August and September as they've been doing that for years, but June and July is a stretch. Cast Members rarely know about discounts ahead of time, so it seems crazy that one CM in reservations would be telling people about it two months ahead of time. I hope it does come true for those wanting it, but I think it's more likely that a CM was talking without knowing what they were saying.

I could very well be wrong, but I thought you got the regular DDP with a deluxe stay. We've been debating on upgrading from moderate to deluxe, and that might make the choice easier...

Yes...I'm fully aware that it's one of the busiest seasons, so they don't really need to offer any deals for visitors. I've been around here long enough to know that. That's why I was so surprised to see the post!

Yes, I remember that last year---There was a PIN for free dining that was valid for certain weeks of the summer.

Last June (2011) we had free dining that was offered to the general public not a pin. We have only gotten 1 pin in all our times of visits & it was 4 years ago. Crossing my fingers for free dining to the general public this June.

We got this one too and we used it. Saved us $1300. We were there June 1 - 9 last year. We will be there at the same time this year and are hoping for a similar pin which would save us about 1k more than the current room discount.
