I just called the Dolphin & they have an AP discount rate of $179.50. Very tempting!

I sometimes wonder how much info CM's really have or are they guessing. I just booked my trip from June 29-July 7 and my CM said I will probably be able to get an AP discount soon. I certainly am crossing my fingers and hoping!

I don't believe the CM's have any more info than we do. Look through the various "Rate/Code Watch" threads and you'll see CM comments that are all over the place.

Did the AP rates come out today? My sister called yesterday and they weren't out...She went on and made reservations with her AAA discount...and will change it once AP codes come out...(if they do..for late June)

If you call Dolphin directly at 888-828-8850 they have AP, AAA & Entertainment card discounts.

I put together a little info on comparing if AP rates came out vs what I have already with AAA rate. The below rates are for 2 rooms 7 nights during value season. Your rates at WL will be slightly different, I suppose.

Right now with AAA rate at AKL 2 rooms standard view for 7 nights is $2878.

So, even with a very generous $100 off AP rate the Poly is still $700 plus more. I suspect I will be staying at AKL. Not my 1st choice, as I wanted WL standard view but it wasn't available for my dates. I could tweak my days a bit though, which I am still considering. We have not stayed at either AKL or WL but we visited AKL for Boma last trip and I really wanted WL becuase we have never stepped foot in there is a few more things I like about WL (the beach, boat service, proximity to MK and monorail resorts for dining).

I am still hoping for an AP rate. My dining costs with 2 extra teenagers is astronomical!!!!

The $179+ was available for late June via AAA @ both Swan & Dolphin (with fees, slightly over $200).

I've been running crazy at work. So, I haven't had much time for DISsing, or working through my numbers. I expect that when I work it all out that I'll probably end up at the same place, although I would certainly consider an upgraded view at WL...

By the time we travel, DD9 will be 10. So, we get hit with the adult ticket prices and meal prices at the parks. Even with DDE, this will put a much larger krimp in the budget.

I almost wish we could travel in late August or early September with the chance for the free dining package if it comes up. But, the kids are back in school second week of August so that's pretty much out of the question. I'm just glad we've got a trip on the calendar.

Well I am thinking I maybe should be rethinking AAA. Does anyone know if I am too late for a AAA rate for the 30th to Aug 6? We are paying rack rate at AKL for a standard room plus DDP at the moment. (Already embarrased enough by that so don't need any extra lol) We are not AAA members but if we will save a ton I guess it would be a good idea to join?

I think PolyAddict post her AAA rate for AKL standard room a few posts back so you can get a feel for the potential discount. You could always call CRO or a TA to check for availability for your dates before you invest in a membership.

If you are looking for the discount applied to a package, which it sounds like you are, you will have to go with a AAA travel agent to take over the booking. I have not had good luck with our local AAA office. If you search around on this forum, you can find some threads with people who have had luck with particular AAA TAs who are also Disney Specialists and/or fellow DISers. Any AAA TA can assist you; you don't have to use a TA from your local office.
