This is exciting, & I'm glad that you all got a glimmer of hope...pixiedust:Here's to this virus peaking & ending sooner than later, and some mid - late May vacays still make it.. :confused3
We don't have the medical supplies to deal with a peak that's sooner rather than later. The sooner it peaks the more people die.

We rented DVC points, so we have to decide by mid-April what to do in order to minimize our loss.

Despite what some of the rental companies are putting out there, if Disney is the one who cancels the reservation, the rental company is legally obligated to refund your money.

Our FP day is April 7th. We are still going to plan as if the parks will be open and cross our fingers. Luckily we are AP and drive so only a room cancellation for us to deal with.

Not to be a Debby Downer but the likelihood of them being open on June 1 is nil.
Yeah, that's where I am. My state (Virginia) is currently on stay-at-home orders through June 10. Can't imagine Disney would reopen for huge masses of people when some states are still closed.

Virginia happens to be one the latest states to "peak". Most states are peaking mid-April to late-June.

But I agree early June is very unlikely as Florida is peaking later as well.

I don't think its 'nil', but I think the odds are better on them being open than they were just a few days ago. The news on the virus - from medicine to the fact that these "models" are all ridiculously wrong - is trending positive.

The state can recind those orders at any time. If the panic time regarding this virus has passed - and it will pass sooner rather than later - the federal government will lean hard on the states to open them up, no matter what their orders are. The federal government still has plenty of pull over states, including funding.

Sooner or later, people are going to be sick or being afraid. And these states can't just keep continuing being shut down. Sooner or later we as a society have to understand that there is a risk we will have to live with regarding this virus that each person individually will have to make with regards to their own lives, at least until a vaccine is developed. But to continue to impose the will on everyone else because of someone else's own fears is simply not sustainable. You don't have a modern society then.
