What hotels is Disney providing buses for?

We're thinking of going to England for a few days to visit my son and his wife - and then fly from England to Barcelona. I have a room reserved at the Hilton for 1 night as it stand right now. Would love to do the Adventures by Disney tour - but don't think I can afford the time...

Just cheking in! I am only 15 days away from my next Disney trip, I am very excited! My mom and I are going to visit my sister who works at the Contemporary, I can't wait to see her.

I don't know what hotels Disney is using off the top of my head, but I was told that all but the Grand Marina (?) are booked, and that hotel was very expensive.

Was just checking in and found us back on the 3rd page! :confused3 Hope everyone is doing well.
I have a question - has anyone heard of or used the Elipsos Trenhotel between Paris and Barcelona? We will prob do the ABD London/Paris trip before the cruise and I am considering this train to get us to Barcelona. Leaves 9PM - you have a "room" on the train - sleep during the night and wake up in Barcelona. From what I understand there is no luggage restriction. Would rather see the scenery during the day - but thought it might be a little different than hopping another plane. Has anyone heard of this train??

Also, anyone going to the Food and Wine Fest. at EPCOT?

I will be there for a meeting the 8th-13th. I didn't know it was SOAP weekend too until I started looking for places to stay and everything was booked. The meeting is at the CR and they still have rooms blocked so I guess that is where we'll be! :)

Lisa - we are also going to be at Food & Wine Nov 7th-12th. We are staying at Saratoga Springs, let me know if you want to try and meet up. We are also considering doing the ABD to London/Paris before the cruise. I already had our airline tickets booked so now I am trying to see how much it would cost us to change them before I commit to ABD. The only information I can give you on the overnight train is from our experience from Edinburgh to London. I am not sure about the size comparision but when we traveled overnight on the train I was glad we only took a day bag instead of our normal luggage. This is one thing I would really check out, because the cabins were really small and I would not have been able to put myself and my luggage into the same compartment. This is why we will be flying from Paris to Barcelona.

DVC4US I will be in Disney Nov 9 thru the 12th for Jersey week.

Where are you staying?

Patricia

Wow - forgot about the whole Jersey week thing too! I just couldn't imagine that many people wanting to meet soap stars! :confused3 That is going to be a very busy weekend! We wanted to stay at SSR or GF to be close to a spa (this is going to be a work/girls weekend away) but no luck so far. It looks like there will be at least 3 of us down at that time so a quick pre cruise meet might work :)
What is your luggage restriction on the flight from Paris to Barcelona - and- did you figure out any way to fit DLP in if you do the ABD trip? Has anyone even ventured into the excursion arena yet? Private cars trips etc?

Happy Planning :) :rotfl: :)

Hi Patricia - we are staying at Saratoga Springs. We just decided to go in September and it was hard to find a room, but our waitlist came through last week for Saratoga Springs so we are going to check out the new DVC property.

Hi Lisa - I haven't booked a flight from Paris to Barcelona so I don't know about the luggage restrictions yet, but I figure we will deal with that when the time comes. I need to figure all this out today so I can determine if we are ABD or just sticking with our original plan. I will let you know what I find out. We are not that interested in DLP, but if it works out we may try to go. I say, if you are over there you have to go to DLP, but the rest of my family could care less. I was also told you do not have to do everything they have planned, so if you want to can take a day and go to DLP.

I think we are going to try and do private cars and guides for all of our excursions. I really want to see what DCL puts out there, but I have been doing some research on my own.

My decision is still which ABD trip. Our deposit is down for London/Paris. I'm still considering Spain for after the cruise, but most of my party want London/Paris - I will prob. concede. :) I figure if we are over there we might as well take advantage of it. We'll do DLP if we can squeeze it in somewhere. The link previously given for Celebrity Cruise line is prob. a good representation of what we can expect for excursions. I'm sure it will be some time before the info is released.

We are planning on taking the overnight train from Paris to Barcelona prior to the cruise. I have seen mixed reviews about it but I think my kids would really get a kick out of sleeping on the train.

Hi Everyone,

Just thought I would bump us up again. Been a bit busy this week but would love to know how everyone is getting on with the planning. Did you decide on the train carol?

Have been spending a bit of time trying to decide what to do in some of the ports of call - looking forward to seeing what Disney has to offer.
Brenda

Hi Brenda,
We have decided to take the train but I have to wait to book it. I think you can't book more than 90 days in advance. The train actually has connecting rooms in its Club Class and I would like to get those. I am not sure if I book the train myself or go through some type of travel agency. We have decided to book private tours in the ports instead of going with Disney. I figure things can be adjusted more for the kids on a private tour. Happy planning everyone.

Hi Cruisers,

I hope all is well with everyone's plans. We still need to purchase one more ticket for our party of 5 to match our frequent flyer tickets. We are going to Paris arriving on Wednesday morning and then flying on Air France from Paris to Barcelona leaving 10 am on Saturday morning (arriving at 11:45 am). We are waiting to use our DVC points to book at DLP but they will not take reservations until December. "We are waiting" seems to be the theme for this trip.

DD celebrated her 7th birthday with her 2nd grade friends -- her two front teeth fell out within 2 days of each other so she has "summer" teeth (some are there and some are missing).

Congratulations to my new European friends on their Ryder Cup victory. In 2008, the tournament will be in Louisville which is close enough to try to go.

Best to all !!!

Hello everyone! I have had such a busy week! We are having midterms at school and my mom and I are trying to get ready for our Disney trip in 5 days. I am very excited, but also pretty stressed out. Right now we are finishing up our costumes for the Halloween party! Does anyone have any info. about private tours? That sounds like a neat option.

Just wondered how everyone is getting on with their planning and things to do and see when on the cruise. We hope we can all meet up sometime. We arranged to do this on my last cruise but unfortunately it was diverted because of Wilma and of course everything changed.

Also wondering if they are not to do pirate night do hope they do something similar. Perhaps as it is Europe they will do Robin Hood.
Brenda

I was just checking my reservation on the DCL website and saw stateroom #8560 instead of GTY. :Pinkbounc We are still waitlisted for a cat 3 and I am going to keep my fingers crossed. I hope that everyone had a great weekend. The weather here was absolutely beautiful.

Brenda-I too am really hoping they do something similar to pirate night. When I first heard of pirate night I was so excited, I love the movies and the ride. Then when I heard they weren't doing it in the Med. I was definitely bummed. I am sure Disney has great things in store for us though. :goodvibes

I leave first thing in the morning for Disney! We have to be out the door by 5am! I think Disney trips are the only time that I am okay with waking up that early! Have a good week everyone.
