Welcome! We have a DD 12 also! We too book a rental car. Our reservations are at AKL Tuesday - Thursday, then staying at the Residence Inn Friday night. We like to use Hertz because it's in the parking lot of the Residence Inn. That way my husband can drop us off at the port, drop off the car at Hertz then take the shuttle to the port.

I didn't realize that Hertz was so close too. We use Budget and do the same thing with the rental car drop off. Last June, I dropped my family off at the port around 10:40 am. By the time I retuned the rental car and caught the bus back to the port, I literally walked in, got my KTTW car and we walked onto the ship and the kids went on the Aquaduck! No lines. It was very easy.

If you need some codes for Budget, I'd be happy to share. We have very inexpensive minivan rentals for our upcoming trip.

We are currently trying to decide what we will be doing since our booking date is quickly approaching, and I had a couple of questions regarding the private tour. The standard tour through Bernards had a couple of tourist stops that you didn't mention in your itinerary such as a stop at the French and Dutch border, a stop at Harold Jack Hill overlooking Great Bay, and a return to Philipsburg. Since I know nothing about the island, I was just wondering if we would be doing the first two as well for a photo op and whether the private tour would leave us in Philipsburg for shopping/exploring. I was also wondering the amount of estimated time that was planned at each of the stops on your listed itinerary. Is there any idea how many people from our group have signed up so far for the private tour? Thanks again.

The good thing about the private tour is that there is no set itinerary and no set times. We pick the pickup and drop off time but there is a maximum of 6 hours. They will take you anywhere you want at the request of the group. I just outlined a basic schedule, highlighting the areas that the group already requested. When it gets closer, we might want to narrow or broaden our choices and designate times. Right now, I know we have over 30 people signed up. Hope this helps.

Can't wait for our cruise!!!! I have become obsessed with learning/experiencing Stand Up Paddling...saw a few options, in St. Thomas we can take the Ferry over to Water Island/Honeymoon beach and take a tour with V.I.P. Club but the ferry back is at 2:15...that would give us plenty of time to get back on the ship right? I tried to explore but it seems pretty close. I am assuming we can take a taxi to Crown bay but can't tell by the map if it is closer any other way? Also I saw on the boards someone saying they were able to rent a SUP at Castaway Cay! It is not advertised but she swears she did it when they went to rent trikes....Anyone know anything about this? Do they rent water sport equipment at Serenity Bay?

Saw the 13 week countdown and getting excited, but I better get back on my exercise routine so I can fit in the beach clothes! Thank you all for all the advice so far, it has been SO helpful for us newbies!

I was so thrilled staying up until dark-thirty and actually being able to get our Palo for dinner and brunch!

The rest of us (we have 11 total) can't book until 75 days out. I hope they can get Palo with us.

I did the 5K last June on the Eastern and our start time was approximately 10:20 am. It's because of the late arrival time at CC.

It does eat up quite a bit of the CC day on this particular itinerary.

Hi everyone!!! I haven't been very active with this thread but am excited about my 3rd DIsney cruise!!!! Questions, I can not figure out how to get to the Facebook page to join the Facebook group. The link just takes me to my Facebook page but I can't find the group. Also, just requested access to google Fish extender page if you can please accept me. This will be our second time doing fish extender! It was so fun on our last cruise!!!! Can't wait!!!! Think I might have to run the 5k. Just did the disney marathon in January but haven't ran at all since.
