June 15 - June 22 2013 Eastern Fantasy

I notice that the tour only drives by Maho beach. Is it possible to stop there for a bit to watch a couple of plane land? Last year, we took a catamaran that went by the beach, but we were fairly far away and if no plane lands when you're close, it doesn't appear as exciting.

We would also like to stop at Marigot as we missed that stop last year. Other than that, we're along for the ride. I haven't researched any of the other beaches so don't know much about them.

Thanks.

A group of DISsers did Bernards tour in Oct 2011 and had a stop for around an hour at Maho beach and saw two planes land. Bernard's has a schedule of when the planes come in and should be able to let us know when to be there. Here are some pics from their trip.

:idea:Hi all! Was thinking of something like this....

- Sea urchins, Iguana Farm (maybe quick 15-30 min.)

- Orient Beach (La Playa) - non nude section

- Marigot - pastries, shopping

- Maho Beach

What do you think?? :scratchin

In looking at the reviews of the beaches, we could do Mullet Bay or Pinel Island instead of Orient Beach.:confused3

Great pictures. This is why we want to stop. We saw planes land, but from about 1/2 mile away on the catamaran.

I think Orient Beach would be fine, but would also be game for Pinel Island.

After the review of Mullet Bay and the potential rip tide and heavier waves, I'm a bit hesitant.

:welcome: aboard the Father's Day Eastern Fantasy. :cool1::cool1: You will have a great time on a Disney cruise. I as well as several others on this thread are DCL veterans so if you have any specific questions please do not hesitate to ask. Also feel free to join our FB page as well (see link on first post of this thread). As for the biggest tip I can give is there is a lot to do on a DCL cruise therefore do not try to do everything and relax. That is what rebooking a future cruise is for, to do things you might miss on this cruise. One recommendation since will be your anniversary/birthday is to book a dinner at Palo. It is a really nice adult's only restaurant for just you and your DH.

Thanks for the tip. We're not really Remy people, but I think we'd enjoy Palo. I'd also like more info about fe's. I'd like to participate, but don't know if it would turn into more than I could keep up with.
I also forgot to mention that my name is Anne. After reading so many pages of the thread, I'm pleasantly surprised that there are so many teachers in the group. My husband is a special Ed teacher and I was also. Now, I am an elementary school assistant principal at an inner city school. We live in Kentucky :)

We should all get together and exchange stories!

Welcome aboard! Another from the teacher clan here. Looking forward to sharing tips over the next few months. Give the FE a try. It's tons of fun, and your kids will go nuts over it. You can make the gifts as simple or elaborate as you like.

I will head over and add you to the fb group!

I thought I noticed a lot of teachers in this group! I'm a high school Spanish Teacher in Pittsburgh. Let's pray there are no major blizzards with snow days to make up or half of our group will have to cancel:/

I teach at a private school these days, so I'm safe with my date! I'm 7th and 8th grade Language Arts, but I did 12 years of public school in both MS and HS. I've met some awesome educators on every cruise I've taken.

I am a teacher too: English at a small university in South Carolina. No paper grading allowed on the ship! Best thing is that Internet is so expensive, I won't be able to teach an online class during vacation, so it will be a true rest.
