June 15 '08 Mexican Riv. Cruise

Yes our 1st cruise was with Disney. Did 4 days on Wonder. It was the best trip of our lives. I have been reading the boards for a while but had to reply to let you know your not alone.:santa:

Thanks! We were going to wait to go on a DC but my friends just came back from a 7-day carib. and said the same as you...it was the best vacation ever, so we're pretty excited! I just wish the Magic could take Castaway Cay with them to the Mex. Riv...oh well, we'll just have to book another one :goodvibes

I really wish Disney would buy and island on the west coast. I'll miss CC. However we are looking forward to Disney in Hawaii.... :santa:

We will also be on this cruise we will be DW, DS16 and Me for our 4th trip on the Magic to go along with our 2 trips on the Wonder. We have done 3 day and 4 day on the Wonder and 2 Western and 1 Eastern on the Magic. We are looking forward to the West Coast cruise. We will be joined by DM who will be going on her first cruise.

I am doing a lot of thinking about this cruise since they are predicting another 6" of snow for us tomorrow.

See you all in June,

John

Welcome John! It's nice to see some "action" on our board for this cruise! Since you're a DCL vet., don't forget to share some secrets :rolleyes: Are you still snow bound? My Mom lives in upstate NY and just got hit with another storm yesterday. I guess I shouldn't complain about the chilly 45 degree temps in Vegas huh? :rolleyes1

We are also on the 15th sailing & can't wait! Me, DH, DD 17, DS who will be 16 in July & DS who will turn 5 one week after our return. I've been away from the boards but with our final payment coming due soon, thought it was time to jump back on board! It is so nice to be able to have the Magic on this coast this year we couldn't help but book when we were on board last January! I can't believe it has been almost a year since our first magical voyage but as of yesterday it is only 5 months to go until we are on board again :banana: :banana: :banana:

Welcome! It's great to see a new post :cool1: No kidding about that final payment getting close :scared: but, our whole family is soooo excited to be going on our first DC - we've been waiting a long time and I have a feeling it won't be our last! Only a few more days till we get our Disney fix at DL - that dose of pixie dust :tink: will have to hold us over till June.

Bumping up...got my cruise travel kit in the mail yesterday...anyone else? It's one more step toward the magic :dance3:

I got mine also! What Cat are you guys in? And are you paid because I am wondering why my neighbor hasn't gotten hers. I know she hasn't paid.

Hi Nevada! Nope, haven't paid yet :rolleyes1 I booked thru a TA so the kit came to her 1st, then she mailed to me...maybe that's what happened to your neighbor's if she booked thru a TA. We're in a Cat 6. How 'bout u? We're starting to plan excursions and plan Palo etc. since we now know when formal, pirate night etc. is...fun stuff! :goodvibes

Hi! Cruising with my family (husband and 3 children - 10, 6 and 1) and our dear friends (family of 5 - children ages 6 and 3 yr old twins). We're all first timers and so excited. Any pointers on what excursions are best for younger children? Anything we shouldn't miss out on? I saw that someone mentioned knowing when pirate night, etc was -- where do we find that out? Didn't see anything in our vacation guide which we just received in the mail.:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :wizard:

:wave2: Welcome Lauren bcl! Congrats. on this being your first Disney Cruise...it's ours too. :goodvibes We're a family of four (myself, DH, DD-17, DS-12). Not too sure about excursions for little ones but I'm sure others on this thread or another thread for the Mex. itins. will be able to help out. DCL has changed lots of stuff from the '05 Mex. Riv. cruise but you may want to look at trip reports on the DIS for those...some of those excursions may be the same. If you haven't already, check out the forum for lots of great info. about the kids clubs. Here's the info. from another thread in the Forum about theme nights for our Mex. cruise, of course, subject to change but at least it's a good start to begin planning and something to get excited about :banana:

"Dining attire varies by venue or theme night on your cruise. In general,
most meals are "Cruise Casual" -- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops;
jeans are allowed. Most cruises also have special theme nights. Below is
the recommended attire for your cruise itinerary and is subject to
change:

On 7-night Mexican Riviera cruises:
*Nights 1, 3, 4, & 7: cruise casual
*Night 2: "formal night" - formal wear for men: tuxedo or suit; for
women: gown or dress
*Night 5: pirate night with deck party
*Night 6: "semi-formal night" - semi-formal wear for men: suit/jacket;
for women: dress or pantsuit.

Dress for dinner at Palo on all cruises:
Men: dress shirt or jacket
Women: dress or pantsuit

Day 1 Embarkation - Casual
Day 2 At Sea - Formal
Day 3 Cabo San Lucas - Casual
Day 4 Mazatlan - Casual
Day 5 Puerto Vallarta - Pirate Night pirate:
Day 6 At Sea - Semi-Formal
Day 7 At Sea - Casual
Day 8 Disembarkation

Hope this helps and keep in touch...:earsboy:
